Potential city - Port Gellhorn

The police car visible in the leaked footage says Port Gellhorn, which could be a city or town in the game. Looking it up I found that Martha Gellhorn was the third wife of Ernest Hemingway, and they met in Key West in the 30s.

Port Gellhorn could be Rockstar's version of Key West, which is a series of islands with multiple long bridges. That would be sick if this is in the game!

I thought Port Gellhorn was supposed to be Port Orange, but only if further north of Miami like Daytona, Orlando, etc. are included

That would be a stretch..... if they are going move north then orange county Orlando or even Melbourne.

They would have to include the palm beaches.

I'll bet Port Gellhorn is Tampa or Orlando. Somewhere further up considering the area is fairly hilly

The Port Gellhorn cop car still said VCPD on the back, so either a WIP/Mistake or it's a neighbourhood of Vice City.

I think due the condesing of the Map the Area of Homestead is gonna be a Neighboorhood of Vice City also its maybe a Placeholder Cop Car seeing that even in the inner City the Copcars have the same Liveries

but with Homestead we get Homestead Miami Speedway and the Homestead Air Reserve Base

Daytona seems to be too far north

Agreed. I don’t live in Fort Lauderdale but I been there many times and even recently a few weeks ago.

We can rightly assume its just a Placeholder Livery and whatever or whereever Port Gellhorn is was the first Part of the Map they started to build to test Stuff early, like a early Prototype

Like you had Mission Beach in SR1 being the Prototype Map for all the other Versions that never released or Utes or the other sh*tty small Island Map in Arma2 respective Arma3 used as Prototyping Maps

so maybe there wont even be a Port Gellhorn in the final Game because it got cut in the Progress or renamed, its not unheard of that Districts or Towns in GTA Games or generally other Games get Namechanges

and also its not unheard of to use Placeholder Liveries/Textures for Cars or for that Matter entire Cars as Placeholders

maybe the blue Stripe on the Copcar indicates it as another Slot even and it just "generic Copcar" the other had a black Stripe on the Name

also gg for that Topic Admins said "no anything from the Leaks"

e: with the Stadiums and the Amount of them seen yet maybe its a Betting Sideactivity, Sports Minigame etc

How do we feel about VCPD being on the back of the Port Gellhorn Police Cruiser?

It doesn't make sense, and could suggest Gellhorn isn't intended to be in the main game.

But maybe it's just a new model and the VCPD will be erased off the cruisers.

It doesn't make sense and I don't like it.  Just like in Los Santos in Davis, they have a Los Santos County Sheriff Station, but it has Los Santos Police Department vehicles there and we never see Los Santos County Sheriff cars. Same with San Andreas Highway Patrol existing, but only in a mission and having motorcycles.  Weird.

Realism with law enforcement agencies is always odd in most games.

From what we saw, I would hope we get Vice City Police for the city of Vice City.  Any suburbs/other towns/cities that are incorporated cities should have their own police department.

Unincorporated areas or towns that don't have a police dept should have a the County Sheriff's Office do law enforcement for them.

Will we see any form of State Police/State Patrol in the game?

Here's my prediction:

1. There will be a fleshed out VCPD

2. Maybe I'm high on hopium but I do feel Port Gellhorn PD exists, and the cruiser model and art design is not final.

3. There will be a final department that serves smaller communities kind of like a county PD/ state patrol like GTA V.

At least that's my hopes.

Ekanfinaka

It’s Key West. Gellhorn gets its name from Ernest Hemingway’s third wife, Martha Gellhorn. The two met in Key West and Hemingway is one of the most prolific minds to ever live in Florida.

These are the leaked place names so far:

  • Ekanfinaka
  • Hamlet
  • Lake Leonida
  • Little Haiti
  • Malibu Club
  • Monument Of Leonida
  • North Beaches
  • Ocean Beach

  • South Beach
  • Vice Beach
  • Washington Beach
