Ok and? Protagonists need to have redeemable qualities otherwise you hate playing as them.

Speak for yourself. I love being the Villain.

I wanted to go the opposite way and have a cop protagonist, particularly if there were multiple protagonists. Too bad we can't have a GTA Jimmy McNulty.

Atleast I hope most wanted missions return, they were fun.

Jason be looking too generic for now, hope there's more to him. Lucia seems interesting.

Also, I noticed there werent any scenes showing that they had any particular acquired? Perhaps footage was from an early stage in the game.

I was expecting some penthouses down at ocean beach!

Not to jump on any hype train, but I suppose I generally liked what I saw? Gameplay has that distinctively-GTA flavour, and I don't mind a Bonnie and Clyde-style protagonist duo as long as they're fleshed out well enough. Still staying skeptical until we see more though.

I just find it hilarious how out-of-the-blue and sudden all of this stuff surfaced. Result of a disgruntled employee perhaps?

My understanding was that it was an unrelated hacker that was able to weasel his way in off a Rockstar India employee giving out information carelessly

Also, with all the talk about Jason I just thought I would pull this golden thread in here for a few chuckles. You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover.

The idea is that there should be a threshold. Dishonorable Arthur will murder, torture and rob people out of pure fun but has an issue with Strauss for being a loan shark which is relatively not that bad. Strauss example would work with Honorable Arthur because he only does bad out of necessity and henceforth considers Strauss as an unnecessary evil so he kicks him out but Dishonorable Arthur behavior doesn't work with Strauss, in that case, Arthur is doing much much worse things than Strauss yet the selling of the idea of kicking him out by Arthur by the game feels forced.  That's the argument.

I hope that clarify the point. Because analogy would be if Tommy would scold people for stealing a house when he himself stole a mansion. No,Tommy was a good boss and expected others to be the same, when they are not, only then he became hostile. That's why he goes against Sonny. Tommy's behavior makes sense, Dishonorable Arthur doesn't in our opinion.

IIRC Arthur kicks him out during chapter 6, honorable Arthur tries to redeem himself by doing good whilst dishonorable Arthur just accepts that he can't do anything about his life. The way I see it, Dishonorable Arthur probably kicked out Strauss out of spite to get back at the gang that wasted his life, just like how he directly confronts and questions Dutch's authority infront of his own gang, thats my point of view.

Many people don't know this but this mission can be completed just with blowing up vehicles, you can literally avoid killing people so I don't think it counts.

Yeah I remember that part where Tommy just tanked all the VCPDs bullets because he suddenly felt like not killing anyone.

Yeah that's one way of looking at it, though one may argue that why kick Strauss of all people? Micah seems more like someone you would kick out of spite since he's the one who's really ruining the gang (and in turn Arthur's life). And like I said, Strauss' problem is what exactly? He loans money and wants it back, that's it, Arthur getting sick was not his idea, attracting Pinkertons because Dutch shot a girl was not his idea, all he does is simple loaning business and debt collecting (Arthur could just so no to debt collecting but kicking him out of all people?). Meanwhile Micah shoots innocent people and even made Jack's dog "disappear" but Dishonorable Arthur is like:

Of course the point was that, while we can go on and brainstorm justifications. Sometime, we want a more straightfoward protagonists that don't care about morals or maybe they do, just don't wave it in our face so that we have to headcannon justifications. We want all kind of protagonists, John, Arthur, Niko are cool, so is Tommy, Claude and Toni. But I think, recently we don't have enough of the latters is what we were saying in HD era.

Who knows, maybe Jason/Lucia might be what we are looking for. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Jason reminds me a lot of Trevor ... dirty clothes, a hat, etc. (I hate him already) and Lucia ... her hips are too much if I'm honest and I can't help but feel like I was watching a GTA Online video with the walking, etc. animations. It all looked very GTA Online like and I don't like that at all.

How can you hate a character after a few clips where he literally doesn't do anything ? And nothing is wrong with her hips ?

Well, I should take back what I said about the characters ... you are right I cannot judge them yet and well, it's just the dirty tank-top and the hat that reminded me of Trevor ... as for Lucia's hips, they have gone a tad bit overboard with them in my opinion but maybe depends on clothes.

You are right but I was wondering if we ever have example of Rockstar changing voice actors entirely? The fact that leaked footage have voice acting seems to indicate that at least a good chunk of these characters might be fixed.

Very good point.

As I said, I don't care if we get modern day or another 80s or any-era period piece out of the next-GTA VI Vice City. Really looking forward for the gangs, the underworld lores. GTA V really dissapoints in this aspect with the focus on FIB and rich guy Devin, so I hope to see a living crime world as deep as or deeper than GTA IVs.

Let's face it, there's so much to explore in real life Miami crime scenes, @The Made Man have elaborated it very well and I have conducted research on it for my concept. From launderers to drug cartels to street gangs from diverse backgrounds, not just Latinos. It may be not as bloody as the 80s cocaine war, but it still a dangerously deceiving place with all the gangs/organizations around.

Redneck gangs is 90% confirmed with Jason, would be wild to see them in the Everglades/Key. Other than that I've only seen the Haitian in Little Haiti-like setting so far (in the video with painted wall) and possible African-American gangbangers throughout multiple videos. Personally, the rich Russian gangs in Sunny Beach Isles have become a "must appear" on my wishlist, they're just too good to be a missed opportunity.

I get the impression that this couple would be more of freelancers, doing crimes (mainly robberies) for themselves, so it can be something close to Niko Bellic, being able to be free and work for different underwold figures for different gangs.

Good post as always.🔥🔥

Guys I think I found the voice actor for Jason. He (the defendant) gives me big Jason vibes, even though we've barely seen anything about his personality

It's insane how opinionated everyone is about a couple characters where all we literally know are their names, their default/pre-trailer design, and a couple of basic lines they spit out over and over in a robbery test.

Summer/pre-release hype GTAForums is in full swing. Guess it's time to just stick to the mapping and trailer/GameInformer threads when they roll out

There better not be any FIB sh*t or any heists. After V I am sick and tired of that sh*t and don't want any more. Give me drug dealing, arms trafficking, go darker and give us human trafficking?

Agreed the FBI government stuff was annoying as hell. All GTAs have it but V had too much of it.

Hope the comedy isn't too much like V either

Instead of FIB, I hope we'll see more of DOA (DEA parody) this time, maybe with that hawaiian-shirt agent from Serie A Online heist returning.

@wise_man i wish gangs in this game would be like in your Vice City concept. Just saw it now- from Cuban, Dominican, Jamaican, African-American street gangs to Colombian Cartels to Russian Bratvas and Cuban crime dynasties... sounds like an interesting recipe for a GTA

Saw some of the weapons list that may appear in GTA VI on reddit, the interesting thing is there may be a separate category called 'equipment' including items like binoculars, flashlights, lock picks and zipties (this indicating you could handcuff people)

You missed one interesting equipment.

Car imobilizer bypass, only Chinatown Story have something similar.

Well Im not fan retro feel of modern GTA titles. GTA IV feels like from 90s and this game feels like early 90s late 80s.

There was so many small details inducing that era a lot. Yes in typical rockstar way.

Im asking myself, why they not fit in for example in 1993...

Interesting, for me I sometimes tend to forget while playing San Andreas or GTA IV that they are set in the 90s or 2000s, I don't know if it's because I'm not from America or I'm not paying attention to details or what. But with GTA IV things like internet cafes and the fear of terrorism and all makes it seem like a 2000s game, as I've seen people say it's become a neat period piece now of the 2000s and I tend to agree.

For me TLaD feels like a game set in an older time maybe because of the yellow filter lol.

As for GTA VI, I guess we'll have to see how the game looks in the official trailer or gameplay, be interesting to see modern day Vice after only seeing the 80s versions. I wonder if we will have an 80s Vice in a prologue though?

That prologue, highly unlikely. These two looks like in their late twenties.
