Two things though...

 

1- We're all celebrating, I get it, but how bad of a setback could this be for the game and its release? I'm not a dev, but the source code is out there. How bad is that and what are the chances of a huge delay? 

 

2- I saw comments that a official announcement was planned for October. But that's truly the first time I'm reading that. On what is that based? 

I know nothing about game developing, but I figured this could mean they might announce it sooner, since if they respond to it they're pretty much already confirming it so why not put a teaser trailer or something, but the actual release will almost definitely be pushed back, specially if the source code thing gets confirmed.

This is probably get buried under the thousands of "I was here" posts, but here are a couple of ideas:

 

• About the dev whose Linkedin profile was shared here because his name appeared on one of the videos, and people are somehow blaming him for the leaks. These videos were downloaded from Rockstar's Slack workspace. People from several teams share videos there. The ones with his name look like their purpose was showing some changes he had implemented, proving that a bug was fixed... any number of things. If these videos were posted to a public channel in that Slack workspace, anyone with access to it would be able to download them. This is most likely what happenes here. Stop blaming the dev, he's probably freaking out at the sudden spike of visits his profile is getting.
• About people saying this looks bad/performance is bad/it doesn't look next gen. Well of course. You'd be surprised how late in development a game starts looking "good". First, you build the game, and then you polish it. As for it looking last gen, taking into account that development started a few years ago, before next gen kits were available, it makes perfect sense for it to be runnin on last gen consoles. Does this mean it will be cross-gen? Not necessarily.

Rockstar and Take Two deserved it for the disgusting remaster from the mobile studio that they allowed for sale.

I hope that the source code of both games will be published, and this will cause significant damage to Take Two for their greed and boorish respect for modders.

Only the leak of the fifth part will give a lot of content for modders, it will be possible to bring multiplayer modifications to perfection.

Some people might get upset because the game is not up to expectations...
It is an alpha version of development, and the Development Team focused on the basics like physics and graphics more than anything else. Every game of Rockstar has gone through this stage.
If you could look at GTA 5 alpha version in the past, probably it would look like GTA 4.
For me, the game is Good for the Alpha version. I believe the leaked videos are correct. Some of the models look like Red Dead Redemption 2 and some are from GTA 5 (which is both RAGE).

I get your point. But i think this is real because the OP posted that he got this off  of Rockstar's Slack Account. In case you didn't know, slack is like Discord but for big companies where they can discuss and share stuff. So this guy hacked into R* slack account  not their main servers.  He even claims to be the person behind Uber hack which surfaced a few days ago.

Pretty sure it will have been in some form of development since 2014, even if it was in the R&D stage. 

I mean I do hope this is real, but i don't doubt that there's a possibility this could of been faked, Maybe the OP has deep pockets and plenty of time. All the info about Americas and the female protagonist was already public info aswell.

We already knew about her for, idk maybe a month or less now, someone found her resume page or w/e so now everyone's been speculating if she's the alleged female protagonist of GTA VI.

Once you get used to UE it’s really easy to see a UE game, especially from development assets. Unity is harder because it’s got so little built in that the stock assets and animations are harder to spot. This ain’t UE, unless someone has spent literally years building this from scratch in UE using C++. None of the development UI is UE, and making that would be a massive challenge.

The oldest clip was in september 2021 which is probably when development started.

Considering RDR2 took 8 years to develop, GTA 6 is really early into development so theres a lot of stuff that will be different. Especially since the GTA series is T2's biggest franchise
