uhhh no. Source code leak doesnt mean anything for singleplayer. It could open up the online mode to some dangerous exploits though. I doubt that they would delay the entire game, because of online mode

The phrase “source code” doesn’t have a strict definition. If you’re actually insane enough to think that this guy has got into some slack channel and managed to retrieve the entirety of the code for Rockstar’s proprietary engine and their current game project then congrats, you’ve made yourself look even dumber than your first post did. Whatever code could have been taken in this type of hack will be, at best, a portion of executable code. There’s no way he’s going to drop millions of lines of engine code.

I would prefer them being some relatives because bonny and clyde type of story would be cringy to me, but he called her babe in one of the dialogues so i doubt they are siblings. Also not to fond on robber theme yet again because we already had that with GTA5, i would prefer starting from the bottom and building drug empire with some other criminal businesses like VC and VCS.

However i think it's safe to assume that the source code for GTA being leaked online can only mean Rockstar having to action this and re-write that code to prevent future corruption in GTA VI. 

 

That re-write will inevitably delay the game.

It wont delay the game, but it could delay the PC port significantly. Console versions don't suffer from cheaters in nearly the same capacity as PC.

This game isn't likely to launch for another two years. That's more than most games entire dev time. Whatever exists today will look nothing like the finished product.

 

Also there's what maybe a few thousand people in the world who would have the ability to play a PS4 dev build (or something like that). Even if it was the PC code, who knows if anyone public can even build it. Then who would QA it for different HW, etc

 

If he leaks it, sub 10,000 would ever play it. Why throw it all away for a game that will still sell 20m+ copies?
