Ability to use fonts from GTA games in posts - What say?

Recommended Posts

@Spider-Vice mang I was thinking of something recently. Since this is GTAForums after all, why not expand the font selection list with all font options from various GTA games like Pricedown, Rage Italic, Diploma, SignPainter HouseScript etc.?

Think about it, members would be able to directly design OP headers for their mods\concept threads and stuff using OG GTA fonts within the post editor. This would save a lot of hassle regarding the graphics of a post, which are usually designed with MS Paint, uploaded and linked as images, and then one day the image hosting site bugs out which cripples the topic's visuals.

Not to mention this could also be counted as a performance optimization because most mod and concept threads use images for headers etc. and the text (formatted or otherwise) always loads faster than them.

As far as I know using certain fonts in images on forums is okay but distributing them as a third party for use is a legal issue and it comes under the creative license.

I may be wrong I dunno, if that's not the case then sure. I'm all for the next gta online guide being written in size 72 pricedown and in all blue 🤣

Just kidding, seriously, I agree

Pretty sure the font "pricedown" is allowed to be used for commercial use. However, do we really want to try and read indepth takes on GTA in that font? I love the font and all for logos and amount of money I have, but GTA doesnt even use it for subtitles for a reason.
