Without a doubt the biggest hit ever in the video game world, the power of grand theft auto franchise!

Happy Anniversary to the only GTA Game where I go AFK to use the crapper and come back to find out Franklin got beaten to death just for being in breathing space of a pedestrian for more than 5 seconds!

9 years ago I didn't have a proper PC and it had been some time since I played Vice City and San Andreas but they were and are among my favourite games, so naturally I was excited seeing the trailers for V. 

 

GTA V was the game I was most hyped for. I liked heist stories, I liked the sunny SoCal vibes and the multiple protagonist idea sounded so cool back then...all this made GTA V sound like the dream game. After release I used to watch random free roam and gameplay videos of V on YouTube and it all seemed so cool. I eventually found GTAF thanks to the V hype too. 

 

I feel like I'm one of the rare people and especially on here who hasn't properly played V, just messed around in the open world on someone else's PC who had the game but haven't really played through the story, though in a way it made me more acquainted with the story because of seeing walkthroughs on YouTube. 

 

It's crazy how time flies, many will disagree saying it's been a long nine years but personally I still remember those trailers like it was a year or two ago 

 

I love reading discussions on GTA Vs story I find it among the most engaging to read (when it's not the same old GTA V sucks or X GTA does this better than V talk). This game has some of my favourite characters, the heists and other robbery missions like the IAA infiltration and the train robbery put the Grand in Grand Theft Auto if you ask me, liked the bombastic, Hollywood style of it all though could have done without counting buying masks as missions too! 

 

Los Santos is gorgeous. It must be those California vibes cause I found Watch Dogs 2's San Francisco beautiful too. 

 

I don't think I will ever be this hyped for a game again. If there won't be another GTA, this game was a great series finale.

I knew about GTA 5 and the release from the get go, I didn't care about it. I was 16 and had classmates who played it religiously from launch. In 2015 I bought the game on Steam, because I figured why not. I regretted it due to my crap PC performance at the time, and I was originally gonna refund the game, but never got around to doing it. Needless to say, online captivated my curiousity, it was my first Grand Theft Auto experience ever. I spent years playing Online religiously untill I eventually finished the Story Mode in 2017, which left me like ''woaaah!''. I don't even wanna think about the amount of kills I've gotten in that game 7 years after I got it  GTA 5 is a stand up game that looks really good even to this day, and it'll always be the most special game to me that opened the road from Nintendo games to Open World Action Shooter, that type of stuff. A fact I'll never forget is that I'm one of the very few people began playing Grand Theft Auto when they were 18! Here's to 9 years, and let's hope Rockstar continues to bless us with the next entry by 100x. Cheers

GTA V tried it for the first time not in 2013 but in 2015 and I fell completely in love 9 LONG YEARS that rockstar still continues to support is worthy of admiration Congratulations gta v for me one of the best grand theft auto Even though they hate you for childish or small things, I still love you xd and i will miss you when gta 6 arrives xD

Getting through college classes the day this launched was probably one of the most painful things I ever went through, not to mention I had a driver's test the same morning that I failed and didn't even care about cause GTAV was the only thing on my mind

 

When I booted it up for the first time, I felt a sense of 'damn, this is what I waited so long for' lol it didn't give me the same sense of awe that III, VC, SA & IV did upon first playing them but V was still a solid game overall.

 

When it came to PS4 though, whew ... that's when it really hit me how great this game was, it felt like the true version of the game all along whereas the PS3 version felt like it was missing alot of things. 

 

All in all... V will go down in the history books for everything it set out to accomplish and did just that and tons more.

Seriously it may not perform as well but it is the best version looks wise. 
 

The PS4 version is the blandest looking game i’ve ever played. When I went back to PS3 it was like a whole new game.

On 17 September 2013, this f*cking masterpiece was released. And through all the rereleases it has gone, its still great.

I only got to properly play it on PC in 2015 but I fondly remember picking the game up with a friend at the post office. Crazy to think that was 9 years ago. Even though I'm craving the sh*t out of a new game, I still enjoy this game a lot and still play GTA Online often. Happy anniversary, GTA V.

IDK, 2013 does feel like a lifetime ago. I can't believe this is still the latest installment. I was in my sophomore year of high school when this game came out. I'm a college graduate living on my own now and this is still the latest GTA to date... not much to celebrate honestly. I lost faith in this game (before mods) when they promised a storyline DLC and we never got it. I knew it was over.

Overall a great game, but only a "good" GTA.
