Businesses for a smalltime criminal 2nd character

I use my 2nd charcter mainly for joyrides or helping out friends where a lvl<50 character with a kuruma is sufficient. Main char obviously has the most assets at hand (still need to buy arcade, agency and autoshop there).

Currently lives in a low-tier apartment with 2 cars in the garage and i would like to keep kind of a low profile with maybe another garage, but no "high-tier" businesses that either don't fit the lifestyle of a smalltime criminal (like CEO office, clubhouse or bunker) or have a long trail of work or further money-investment behind it (think of MC-businesses or grinding crates).

What would you recommend for a simple and honest gun-for-hire that wants to make a few bucks on the side?

Nightclub would maaaaaaybe be an option, but that would only be for the daily income as i most certainly won't purchase any of the MC/CEO businesses to fill the NC's warehouse. Don't know if it's worth it then.

I'm not sure about the arcade, agency and autoshop. Arcade looks like 99% of its purpose is hosting the casino heist from what i know, like the base for doomsday. Daily income of 5k is way too low, but i don't know what other content may be unlocked there.

As mentioned, i haven't touched the autoshop and the agency yet, but i feel like both can kinda fit the bill, with the autoshop slightly above?

Can you guys describe what is expecting me in the agency and autoshop on day to day play and, more important, if it fits to what i want?

MC, Special Cargo, I/E and Hangar is basically all the same loop: Source supplies, sell later with little twists. Bunker is the same + weapons research for Mk2-guns. Speaking of them, iirc the agency has the option for a weapon workshop, but i don't think i'd profit much from it without a bunker for that char.

With a nightclub you can collect crates during the business battles that most players ignore. They are almost always cargo and weapons. I session hop while they are active and can normally participate in 2 or 3 of them. Adds up pretty quickly when they are 2x. Get the club at the docks to make quick work of the aircraft carrier one that provides free jets. It seems to pop up the most.

My second character's small time crime is embezzling from the primary character's bank account. I'd suggest I/E because stealing cars is smalltime, but it's locked behind CEO.

Auto Shop might work, especially if you roleplay as an employee for the two sex crazed schmucks who run the missions. Which could work because they treat you like a know nothing employee. There are 8 different contracts and 3 appear on the mission board at a time. Each are 2 prep missions done in free roam and the last is a mission for a better payout. Missions are robbing banks, stealing files for a conspiracist, stealing counterfeit plates from the military, execute gang members in prison, intimidating a prisoner the IAA has, train robbery, destroying LOST drug labs, and robbing the Union Depository. Some of those fit smalltime and some don't really fit. The only are things to do are the Exotic Exports to steal cars like Simeon's car steal thing as well as the legitimate tune up and deliver cars for customers.

Agency doesn't feel smalltime to me. You're a part owner of a security company who does the less than legal jobs. Main draw is the Dre contract for recovering his cell phones. There are regular security contracts which are things like recovering lost/stolen items and rescuing clients. The only part that feels smalltime is the assassination missions which you get from payphones.

So crates without further businesses. Good tip, but i don't really play in public sessions. Maybe i get those if we're 5 friends in a session and i play solo 😅

Thanks, then i get an auto shop for that char. I can bend the rules a bit, i just want to keep it simple and have a method to make at least some money in free-roam.

I take a look at the agencies a bit later....main char will have all of it eventually.

The auto shop contracts are pretty much the perfect GTA content for me. I enjoy the short format and decent payout. Couple things to know. Many people hate them because the people talking to you during those missions are very cringy. I solve this by playing with the volume down while listening to my own music. Also, you "have to" use a tuner car when you do the final missions, but you can drive to one of your personal garages and retrieve a different car. If there are other cars you want to use in these missions then buy a garage or apartment close to the auto shop.

Simple. Go public. Exit building. See if a battle or free roam event is going on. If it’s a battle, knock it out and then leave for another session and another battle. If not go back to invite and mess around for awhile before going back to repeat later.

I play a different game than everyone else though and always spend my time in public sessions doing what I want without issue both on console and PC.

Valiant ENT CEO

I think you can play all the content in gtao as a small time crook... Even robbing El Rubio. I started my grind by stealing and selling weed from Paleto Bay in 2019. I would spend hours to get enough product for a sale only to be blown up during my sale.

Small time criminals all start by stealing or selling drugs. With that being said... I have no idea what you are asking! Just do the missions that pay sh*t. LOLbbq

If you're getting an auto shop, you could also get a clubhouse for the bike deliveries. At this point I pretty much just do those vehicle deliveries, and collect money from the nightclub. And steal some cargo for the club with Yohan every now and then. If you get an agency, I guess you could just pretend that you don't actually own it, you're just some guy who does assassinations for them

If you are using the character to play with your friends get passive income for it.

Get a Nightclub and maybe an Agency, no Arcade since the passive income from it is negligible, and if you want Casino heists let your friends host with their mains.

I vote auto shop

The contracts might be a little intense for a small time character but you have access to exotic exports which pay 20grand a piece and legitimate money makers like customizing customer cars which pays well. And it’s a much more believable front for a small time criminal vs an executive office or nightclub etc

Autoshop, it's both a legit business and an easy moneymaker for a character you want to stay small-time.

You can flip two cars at a time for near a hundred grand for ten minutes work and the Contracts can earn you near two hundred grand for a half hours work as well as it being a Mod shop, a place you can live/spawn and a ten car garage.

The actual profit is less than that, since some of that includes the money you spent on fixing them up, you just get it back at the end

True, it's still legit money for almost no work.

Twenty minutes once you get good at them and only do the quicker ones. Add in the Union Depository every time it comes up and you should be hitting about $1m in 2 hours.

It really is the best business for "small-time"

Looks like autoshop is the winner here. Now's the question if i wait for a sale or if i'm getting impatient with enough money to spare. 😛

Thanks for all the info provided!

Purchasing just the MC Clubhouse sounds like an ok idea as well. With both i also wouldn't need a separate garage.

Can take a while for getting the funds, though.

I’d say don’t buy any buisness at all

Every week or two, something else is on double or triple money, stockpile, motorwars, sumo etc etc , I’ve made almost 4 mil these last couple of weeks hotring racing on triple money alone

i only play one character but if I started a 2nd (absolutely no wish to ima)

it’d be a far simpler affair. Tools of the trade and not much else
