Ghost of Tsushima kinda opened up the floodgates. I'm happy more are getting made I just hope that they're good. Kinda wanted to see AC do this time period in 1863 Japan during the Meiji restoration but it seems like these guys beat them to it first Edited Friday at 08:29 AM by Zello

Jason
This, AC Red and maybe a GoT2 all releasing in 2024, quite a turn around for the samurai/ninja settings. Wo Long next year as well, albeit that's fantasy. Looks solid from the footage so far.

It's ironic that GoT kind of made samurai open world games mainstream, but RDR and RDR2 effectively ensured that no western open world game was made in last 12 years

I just thought at least a single company would've attempted to make another western open world game when RDR1 broke through 12 years ago. Then again, RDR was a Rockstar game, so not exactly surprising Zello

Yeah, I was specifically talking about a big budget western open world game, not any other genre or medium. Even Kojima once said that RDR1 changed the negative notion that westen games cannot be successful, but that apparently didn't affect the AAA sphere. I guess it's both funny and sad at the same time. Some people aren't willing to admit it but Rockstar Won the West. 'nuf said But seriously, talk about an explosion in Japanese Samurai style adventures.
