beginning to want to make my own gun mods for gta iv

Hello, ive seen a few mods on gtainside revolving around guns and after awhile i wanted to try porting some guns over that i felt deserve to be modded, only issue is most tutorials ask for a version of 3ds max 2012 which is impossible to get my hands on and gims iv which hasnt been updated for future versions since it was created, i am now struck and struggling to make a gmod, is there any other way i can do it that isnt time consuming, i currently have 3ds max 2010 but i cant get ahold of 2012.
