How did Franklin know Devin wanted to kill Michael?

In the last mission after Franklin asks Devin "you want me to kill you now?" Devin says "not me" and Franklin knows he wanted to kill Michael

 

How did he know Devin wanted to kill Michael, if Michael never told Franklin that Devin was gonna kill his family? The last time they talked about him Michael told Franklin to trust Devin and that he will pay him for the cars eventually. What exactly made Franklin think he wanted Michael dead?

You can call Jimmy as Franklin after the mission Meltdown in which Jimmy explains it all

Some of them shouldn't have been optional honestly. Like this one or stretch's phone calls

There are too many of these phone calls that you can just miss if you don't bother checking them out, some should have never been optional.

This was the case in GTA IV as well. I like the small detail but I wish they were harder to miss.
