Unknown8361
Lets be clear, I still havent played it, but I know when it released it was sh*t. And Rockstar started releasing patches trying to fix it. So, is it still sh*t after almost 10 months of it releasing? eagle152
universetwisters
Not really, most of the bad bugs got fixed by now. Still no reason not to play the originals tho tbh Unknown8361, BigBoyBertram, WanteD1 and 7 others 9

NightmanCometh96
While some of the more notorious bugs and issues have been "resolved" (as Strauss put it), the DE is still vastly inferior to the originals. Even if the rest of the glitches were addressed in future patches, there are so many problems with these versions on a fundamental level, such as the cartoony art direction and mobile port codebase (and all the issues that arise from that), that nothing short of rebuilding them from the ground up (i.e. something similar to what happened with the Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner remaster) will ever bring them to a state that's comparable to the original games on PS2/OG Xbox/PC (ideally with Silent Patch, SkyGFX, Framerate Vigilante and GInput). BigBoyBertram
I know this is an extremely emotional topic, but in all honesty there have been some decent improvements With that being said, you should still stick with the originals. The Definitive Edition was, and still is, a soulless dumpster fire that completely unravels if you examine it under closer detail. I can't wait for the Red Dead Redemption Outlaws Collection by New Austin Games though, should be fire!!! ChubbyB0b
The biggest middle finger here is the removal of original versions. They leave you no choice other than buying this abomination. Thankfully, PirateBay is still a thing. H-G, Xane_MM, Super Shizuku and 4 others
Midnight Hitman
It's still sh*t, especially San Andreas. The crippled, manhandled atmosphere will never be fixed. Play the OG versions. If you really want to try the DE, either pirate it, or get a used copy. R* and GSG shouldn't see a f*cking penny for that turd anymore. Ondr4H
This game is bad to the core, there is no force in world to fix this mess... There is nothing added to gameplay, so grab classic version give it silent patch. Rather send some cash to author of silent patches, he truly deserves it... This scam from R* definitely deserve nothing. E Revere, NightmanCometh96, H-G and 2 others

Still no reason not to play the originals tho tbh That depends on what you call "fixed" . Sure, some things were improved... But they fixed most of the things that people made fun of. Like the hood camera view with CJ's face being blurry and shaking, or useful glitches like the car crusher "skip" in GTA III that existed in the original game. They've also tried to fix some of the bad AI scaled textures, but many of them have remained unchanged. There are so many things that are still bad, like the laggy controls in GTA Vice City or the mobile controls in GTA San Andreas. FPS drops in all games (they tried to fix that by lowering some graphics settings). There is still no fog to hide the horrendous LODs and unrealistic view of the entire map. These games are so messy that it's impossible to just "fix" all of it. It's a mobile game pretending to be a console/PC game. greggrulzok
The classic trilogy will always be good but the game code is so f*cking old that it has trouble to run on modern systems (not to mention about installing mods on it), and only something like reverse engineering could help a lot, too bad T2 and sh*tstar are so f*cking greedy pieces of sh*t that they go after anyone that tries to fix this mess and instead hire a f*cking mobile games studio that ended up outsourcing part of the project to India. olzhas1one
If we consider they are pretty much the same 3D era games, then I guess they're... okay-ish now? If you're stuck on a new-gen console then it's probably worth playing just to be able to check the old GTAs out. However, as remasters, and that's how they should be judged, completely abstained from the quality of the original product, they're still a revolting pile of feces. The "improvements" to the gameplay are negligible, aside from the mission checkpoints (but if you're good at these games, they mean nothing to you). The visuals are sh*t, no matter how some people will try to shill them. They were clearly made by clueless people who had no idea what they're doing (They didn't even use the higher quality Xbox textures and car models for GTA 3, for f*ck's sake!). Sound effect quality is the same 8khz compressed audio from the PS2 disc (which is baffling considering the fans have been able to track down some HD sources of the sfx, are you telling me Rockstar are so incompetent they've lost all of the HD sources of the audio of those games?). Rockstar also still decided to be greedy hacks and not relicense all the music, and to add even more insult to the injury, it's priced at 60$ and you have to use the Rockstar Malware Gateway Games Launcher. The only way to "fix" these remasters is to start from scratch again, something obviously nobody is ever gonna do. So, yes, after almost a year of it's release, it still is sh*t. And it always will be. If you have the ability, just play the originals modded. There's nothing wrong with pirating them now, since Rockstar went out of their way to restrict you from buying them. Very nice of them, right? Edited August 31 by olzhas1one SchizNitz, inflamedeyeball, Lock n' Stock and 2 others 3

Exsanguination
I pre ordered the DE out of hype, I completed them but it wasn’t the same experience as the originals, bugs/ goofy looking characters/ missing songs/ increased draw distance ruins immersion with SA completely etc etc updated controls and weapon/radio wheel is ok If they just enhanced the graphics a little and left most everything else alone I would have had no issue purchasing the games again, or even just OG versions I could play on my series X… I would have spent the 60 bucks on that with no complaints luckily I still have my original games on PS2 including the stories games and have a working PS2 again. Kill some cores or switch to CPU graphic card if possible. Want some nightmare, try run for example Midtown Madness 2... Without some serious fan patches, its impossible to run on any modern graphic.
