Thoughts on a Restaurant Business update?

Burger Shot and Clucking Bell played a good role in both SA & IV adding a bit of realism to the world. They brought back the nightclubs as both legal and illegal business, wish they could bring back restaurants like the nightclub. The legal part could be the regular business and the illegal part could be related to drugs as we saw in story mode, one of Jimmy's friends sells drugs while working in a restaurant. What are your thoughts on this? :3

It could work as part of an extortion business/racket.

Nice, gives me 90's mafia shows vibe.

there were no loading screens for the nightclub tho, but on the first point I agree they should make it more appealing

Good idea about legal revenues, but Burger Shot and Clucking Bell are franchises of big companies, which would limit the amount of operations, höwever, if you start a franchise instead and buy a Italian restaurant, steak house, burger shack and whatnot, you'll be able not only to cover up your criminal biz, but also serve pizza and realistic steak.

Of course you'd be able to visit the local fastfood restaurants, but add contact missions, vehicles and a Katana and you'd have a delicious course.

I finally came around to the idea that if we get another update that involves having a front - that it could be one of the fast food joints, Gus Fring style. Maybe not even for distribution potential (unless LD Organics partnership?), but to have some secret backroom area for something else entirely like the Arcade did.

I was loving the ideas of branded clothing, branded vehicles, all the "legit" missions tied to the front side of things you could do along with brand warfare type missions depending on which chain you buy into. I was loving it so much I even started making a map of where all the Burger Shot's, Cluckin Bell's and Pizza This...'s were on the map - but I stopped when I discovered there's two Pizza This...'s across the street corners from each other in Vinewood.

Would be nice to do that in GTAO, while being hunted by Oppressor Mk2's. :kekw:

Whilst more interiors are great (and should be in the next GTA), without some sort of criminal element then the business would just be boring and be overlooked. As most would say, Los Pollos Hermanos and Gus Fring would be the inspiration.

Purchase a production warehouse where we create our own ‘super drug’ to sell at different fast-food chains. The ability to name our product and choose 3 components to make it. Say we can own up to 5 fast food restaurants of the same brand and the only resupply mission is the first delivery to all of the assets since our crew will resupply (again we are managing the operation).

Twist! Consumer tastes will change on a set basis (not sure of the frequency yet) so we can change the components of our product to suit them. Once changed we have to resupply to all assets and would make the most profit (if we don’t change, we will still make income but less).

Throw in a few freemode missions and activities like smashing up a rival’s asset or selling product via a food truck (GTA Vice City style) and ‘market research’ to boost sales. This would make it more interesting and less tedious (given our status we shouldn’t be just doing b*tch work now). I think we can stick to the usual 3 (Burger Shot, Cluckin Bell and Well stacked) since buildings are already present. Lastly, have our character’s portrait on digital billboards around LS as we grow our empire, choose a cheesy tag line and pay for a business jingle to play on the radio for IMMERSION.

I get that - absolutely "no" to any DLC being built like those from 2016 to 2018. I'd like to believe that the Criminal Enterprises update being used to make those aready existing ones tolerable was done to "clean-up" that period in GTA Online's closing legacy.

What I'm not opposed to are those being implemented in the same manner as the Arcade. Maybe, hopefully, include side missions to perma-raise the daily income like the Agency Contracts, but the actual main part of the DLC takes place in the back/underground the joint and has nothign to do with the fast food stuff.

Fast food joints could be like the new Simeon's place: an instant 'passive mode', no loading screen, interactive place.

Besides being able to properly sit and eat from a menu for the first time, some unique stuff like exclusive arcade games and 'Happy Meal' cringy collectables for our Penthouse or High End apartments could work.

Imagine something like the Lucky Wheel, a pool filled with plastic balls where you can swim for fun but also to find forgotten stuff: from snacks, used slippers, toys, to the ultra-rare 'baby-puked Clucking Bell Manager tee'

GTAO's Gus Fring would be like Gerald, a contact we can work to. You go to the counter, pick your order and then they ask you 'anything else?'  and you select 'speak to the Manager'

You sit at your table and while you chew your food, slurp soda and lick your fingers, 'Gus Fring' using the joint's uniform sits and explains you the goal and background of a job (like a Franklin's phone call)

They could be from simple tasks like intimidation, assasination hits disguised as fast food couriers, bodyguarding, smuggling on the restaurant's delivery van, to short Tuners-like 'heists':

- The Secret Recipe. Find & eliminate a traitor before she/he solds Gus' drug cookbook.

- Lard Wars. Stop by force the launch of Coronel Duggan's El Alamo Fried Chicken franchise on Los Santos.

- The Master Chav. Set an extortion plot to 'convince' a reluctant overvalued Chef celebrity to promote Gus' franchise.

- The Last Happy Meal. Agent ULP hires Gus for a Black Book operation: half of the crime organizations in Los Santos will meet on the Maze Bank skyscrapper penthouse to elect a single Boss to work under to. Gus will be the food's contractor on that banquet.

Disguised as a waitress you will eliminate the newly elected Crime Boss on stealth mode (very difficult) or at any cost in a massive shootout and make it to the roof's helipad alive. Remotely detonate explosives on each crime organization's lair to send IAA's regards before scaping with a parachute jump.

New stealth mode killing moves: throat slicing, stab to the heart, strangling with a silk cord, knife throw.

New melee weapons: Butcher Cleaver, Meat Tenderizer, Throwing Knives, Silk Cord.

Vehicles and clothes of the game's food franchises.

Oohh yes I forgot: also puking animation if you eat too much or lethal food poisoning with re-spawn at the nearest hospital ('I survived Burger Shot's Heart Stopper' tee and Patient Robes unlock included)

Again, it's just something that should already be in the game. So sure... They'll add it in 6 months from now and everyone will be amazed which seems to be their trend lately.

Aaaand now I want to rant about the BB at Cluckin Bell Farms... That business battle could be so much better with us throwing crates on a train and possibly having a 2nd buyer for the goods...instead of us running the cargo back to the nightclub.

I'd honesty prefer This being a social hub. I wouldn't want to be doing delivery runs, since that sh*t gets old lightning mcqueen fast.

Here's a better legit business idea: a movie theatre like the unused ones like the whirlgig theatre with dynamic like stunt based missions with my pal Michael .

This would get boring fast.  I go on runs to buy buns for my burgers.  Don't we have enough drug businesses in the game as is? Meth, weed, coke businesses, plus narcotics are part of special cargo, and we steal weed and coke from our island buddy.  At this point, if they are going to put that kind of effort into the game, I am hoping for something new, fresh.

I mean, we had food deliveries in the trilogy GTA's (I don't mean the courier missions where it was drugs), like Pizzaboy in Vice City, so it would be an interesting and funny addition to be able to use a restaurant as a front for something else, but also be able to do real food deliveries :sadkek:

Story-wise, this could be a way to distract the cops from any other business such as drug smuggling.

How about they put a flipping burger minigame where you have to flip 1 million burgers for a promotion in the corporate ladder, just like in real life!! Think about the immersion!!!11!!!eleven!!11

Oh boy I already can imagine all the action!!

* Increase the heat of your oven to cook faster and protect your burgers from GRIEFERS!!

* You have been raided, now GRIEFERS are eating all your burgers!!

* Feed extra burgers to GRIEFERS so you make them fat and slow, making them vulnerable!!

* Befriend GRINDERS by giving them burgers, earn extra KARMA!!
