Autosave locations? For Starter Save

Recently I have taken up making a starter save on the Definitive edition (PS5)

 

I noticed there are now some autosave features. In particular the Chiliad Challenge autosave the game at the end of the race. It is useful if you are say collecting snapshots early in the game and fail, you only need to reload to Mt Chiliad.

 

However I was disappointed that NRG 500 and Courier did not autosave. I also got on the train in San Fiero and it said Checkpoint, but I have no idea how to actually use it.

 

So, does anyone have a list of things that will autosave the game, particularly before BIG smoke?

 

Bonus question: Does anyone know how to get the NRG 500 to LAS venturas Early in the game? I tried the bridge at the north of Los Santos but it feels so much harder now.

Simple.. There is an L turn at Montgomery where close to Las Venturas.. You will just aim to the shortest spot and hit it with full speed. You may start it from the Mulholland safehouse in case you fail to jump

Thanks! It took a few goes but I got lucky and hit the ground at an angle which gave me a jump.

 

I tried to save it in the LV Impound but it was gone when I went back. Do you have to do any fancy camera angles when leaving? Any good YT videos showing how to do it?

 

EDIT: Nvm I figured out how to do it. Very handy for one I collect horseshoes and stunt jumps early!

It is also simple.. There is a multistory carpark where you can do 4 Stunt Jumps and the chase from "Misappropiation".. get inside, park your bike/car whatever and walk out but keep the camera on this bike.. If it vanishes than you've succesfully impounded it 

 

 

This guy covered the whole impound section and most features must be same in DE except broken SF..

Wow I am glad you responded because I found out how to do it but I was manually moving the NRG into the police impound. 

 

I never knew about the carpark! Very useful for getting cars in there, I might give it a go with the Tourismo so I can then save it before attempting to drive it over the ditch.

 

How the heck did people find the carpark method, I wonder if there are more.

There are some side missions in OG version which named their names onto the savefile..that means the game may create an autosave right after the mission completion.. if i remember correctly these were NRG-500, Kickstart, 8-Track and BMX.. you can easily and safely try BMX

Cool but the game always try to impound your previous driven cars and controlling the impound is more difficult in consoles.. you always have to be careful and check your impound over and over again 

 

You can't use undrowning glitch for Turismo because there is no undrowning zone in LV.. All you can do is hit the barrier at the Mulholland Bridge.. Zmoonchild should have a video about it..

Yep so I wont have it in the impound for long, I will just keep it there until I can clear the jump successfully. I don't want to constantly have to look for it in traffic.

I think I found a way to get checkpoints to work. They work differently from Autosaves. Basically when the game says checkpoint, you just close the ap. When you boot it up and continue it should reload from the checkpoint. Do not load the autosave it isn't the same thing. its a bit weird but it worked for me. I haven't tested it on the Brown Streak train for a starter save though, that will be really good if that works so you can keep loading into SF or LV when doing stuff there.
