[MOD CONCEPT][IV] AddonShopping.asi

Hello! I'll start off by saying that I don't really have an idea on how much this is really possible, but basing on how some trainers/specific mods work I believe some of the functionality here is entirely doable. I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to scripting nor I don't posses the time to learn enough about it to give this mod justice, that's why I'm presenting this a possible concept in hopes somebody interested in the idea can make it come to life.

GTA IV lacks a bit of options when it comes to clothing/weapons, where as some of the games in the franchise gives you lots of variety. That's where this mod comes in, as of right now adding content to GTA IV like cars, weapons & clothing is possible, but we currently don't have mods that allow to access the newly added content naturally in-game.

The basic premise of this mod is to allow the player to purchase any Addon content modded into the game, weapons & clothing in specific.

spacer.pngClothing Shops:

The menu could work similar to the interaction menus in GTA V, for purchasing clothes an invisible (or visible) marker could be placed in an spot where it doesn't obstruct the other clothing options of the shop, when approaching said marker the player would need to press E and the game now loads an interaction menu while also position the camera to look at the player.

In this menu all of the player.rpf options (uppr, lowr, feet, etc.) would appear, using the arrow keys the player is able to select one of these options to preview any of the added modded clothing.

The location of the clothing shop marker could be modified in the plugin's .ini file (coordinates), in case the user of the plugin decides to place it somewhere else, the banner of the clothing store could also be changed in the folder of the plugin. Like so:

AddonShopping.ini:

Any of the player.rpf sections could also be modified in the .ini, be it to change the name of a section or to hide it completely.

CS1 would stand for "Clothing Shop 1" which is the Russian Clothing Store, the first one unlocked on the game.

Even better would be for the plugin to register any CS4, CS5, CS6 added into the .ini esentially creating tons of more clothing shops in different spots of the map.

After pressing ENTER on any of the clothing sections the camera would zoom on the selected part and the menu should now showcase all of the added clothing configured in the plugin's .ini file.

In the example picture to the left I'm showcasing 5 clothing options added in the .ini (showcased on the right).

Basically the user would be able to manually add the items they want in the sections they want, this also includes any of the a, b, c, d, etc. texture variations of a model.

The script would also allow for the camera to be rotate in case the user wants to see the clothing item from a different angle.

spacer.pngHere's another showcase on Perseus, the script could also play the corresponding animations based on the clothing item.

You might be wondering how to access these clothes, since adding them to the game's wardrobe might not be possible with the script, and to be honest I really didn't' think this through when making the concepts.

My solution would be to either add a new wardrobe for all of the purchased clothes through the script (meaning the script would have to keep track of the purchased clothing in a .dat file) or these clothes never would get saved anywhere and you would have to purchase them again everytime you want to wear them (a pain in the ass, but beats having to code a system that remembers every purchase)

spacer.pngWeapon Stores:

Weapons! these menus would work exactly like the clothing ones, sections would be divided by weapon type (smg, shotguns, pistols) and once again an animation could play showcasing the gun, the rotate option for the camera could also be present.

Once a gun has been purchased the price display would change and display the price of the ammo instead of the price of the gun and every consecutive ENTER press would buy ammo for the gun.

I really hope this concept gets the idea across of what I would like to see in GTA IV, If anyone is up for the challenge of programming a mod like this I would be happy to paid for the service.
