Well, I keep trying this Cayo heist.  Doing it via Longfin again, at the North Dock.  Last time was fairly stress free.

So, I spawn in with the cutscene of the Longfin.  It zooms in as usual, right up onto the rocks.  This time however, it flips itself upside down before I can even get control from the cutscene.  So, I have to swim all the way to the north dock.  On the way, a patrol boat drives OVER me from behind.  An auspicious start.

I sneak around to the shed where the drugs are, the disguise is supposed to be there right under the camera.  If I wait for the right moment, I can hurry in and put it on before I'm spotted.  I wait for my moment... and there's no disguise.  No way for me to conceal myself, and now I'm standing out in the open under a camera.  Whoopie, first fail.

Second try, while sneaking over to the shed, I'm hiding behind the structure with the electronic doodad in it.  The jeep drives by... but somehow spots me THROUGH the structure, even though I'm completely behind it.  Failure 2.

I don't even know where the disguises ARE.  If they're not in front of the shed, where else do I look?  I can't go wandering around the docks, all but two of the guards are hostile.

EDIT

Well so much for that.  There seems to be no disguises ANYWHERE around the north dock, I spent my time while discovered running around looking for some, but there's nothing.  Not sure how else I can proceed at this point, I guess I have to just give up.

Oh, and what the hell kind of weapons are they using?  A single shot to my leg kills me?  What the hell?

Made my way to the airfield.  No disguises anywhere.  Main dock, no disguises anywhere.  Keep getting spotted by things that shouldn't be able to see me, seeing through things, or beyond the range of their sight cones.  Of course, once you're spotted there's no point even TRYING to continue, you're just continuously taking perfectly accurate fire from helicopters that respawn the INSTANT you kill them, and the guards' weapons will pretty well oneshot you from full health and max armour... so once you're spotted, there's no point in continuing.

All I'll say is that there's a scope out mission for a reason. You can't just chance it during the heist.

So... I have to scope out the WHOLE ISLAND every time?  Pavel says I don't need to...

Also, I'd kind of thought I'd be able to bang it out quickly tonight, I only had about an hour to do it.  3 and a half hours later, and now I have to give up on it.  So disappointing.

if you're doing it solo, yeah. just start at the airport and keep looking until you find an entry point that has guard uniforms (and decent loot spawns but this is less important). you don't need to scope out the whole island in the same way that you don't need to do a whole lot of work to get a c on a school project.

There's always a disguise at the North dock, you know about all 4 locations? Last one in front of the hut with a guy and a store in.

I don't think you need to scope much really, my routine (I only steal coke or paintings) is

Steal the bike in front of you

Look for first disguise by patio tables

Look in store for coke, scope if find

On way out look for second disguise location (on balcony) if not in first

Ride to hangar and look for coke

Bike to tower

Scope primary

If I don't have 2 cokes already I then ride/chute down to the weed field store

step in front of cam

fin

If I haven't found a full bag of secondaries then I will longfin to North Dock on the actual heist and go from there

If I'm still not full then I'll check the remaining 3 stores. My last but one heist actually had only 1 coke available but even with checking every single store and doubling back to fill up on weed, time was 10:29

Aaaaanyway my B&M that black hole stunt track throws a WRONG WAY because of poor checkpoint placement and the rest aren't much better

You only have to scope what you need and want icons for on your map when you do the heist. I scope for a crew of 4 so I do more scoping than most people on here because I don't trust my friends. I look for three things at each location: enough secondary loot to steal, clothes, and grappling hook. My route is to scope the airport first. Often clothes aren't here, so I go to the North Dock next. Usually clothes, grappling hook and enough loot is here. Then I'll bike over to the control tower, checking 2 of the 3 spots for cutting powder. At the tower I'll scope the targets in the compound, since you're solo you'll just need to scope the primary. Then I'll climb to the top of the tower and parachute directly to the water tower or supplies by the Main Dock. After using the cutting powder, if I'm done scouting I'll just jump off the water tower to die and respawn back at the airfield, otherwise I'll scope the Main Dock then get myself caught to teleport back to the airfield.

A couple updates ago they changed how the Longfin spawns at the North Dock so it's always pointed at a cliff now. You can tell because your character leans while the boat is turning in the cutsceene. Get into the habit of always holding on the breaks during the cutscene so you're already slowing down when the mission starts.

When you get good at it you can do the entire heist, scope to finish, in under an hour.

Oh so that why I almost crash every time..... It is strange that when choosing Main dock you are aimed at it when exit the intro cut scene!

Hello everyone. So, I only got one question. I played gta online since this March and for me the most fun was the ways of making money but mostly freeroam pvp. I work to buy Mk vehicle so like that I can make alot of kills with that but k/d ratio is disabled in free roam. Why? Make my understand why. There is and passive mode for everyone who dont wants to fight or simply join new session. Now all the fun is gone and i stopped played gta 5 online anymore. Its not fair that people work to get great vehicles to easy kill others and now that thing is disable. It is just unfair because people already had advantage of oassive mode to avoid players pvp but now i dont see any point to play because its useless to make money for good vehicles to kill players because it does not counts anymore. So why should i play online anymore? Please make me understand why this is happening.. for me freeroam pvp was most of fun but now k/d dont register anymore but only in that deathmatch sessions. Just unfair, shame Rockstar

Or the Kosatka/drainage tunnel.

It took me about an hour and a half to do it the first time. I didn't use any disguise. I did get spotted (my fault) while looting the main docks so I scarpered with my secondary loot only about 3/4's full.

I was most pissed off about the fact that if you fail after you've hit the main target, but before you leave the compound, you have to start all the way over at the insertion point again.

The new community races f*cking suck. Why do they keep adding this bullsh*t into the game??? It’s only diluting the regular race pool even more! Total f*cking garbage.

Ya, that gave me grief a couple of times until I spotted the pattern.  The pieces are all sorted, so you start with the top piece (easy).  The second piece will be the one right after the top piece, and so on til you finish.

What irks me is that if you're spotted, it's basically all over.  You can't fight your way out because the enemies just continuously respawn.  Good lord, the helicopters will respawn before the last one has even crashed.  You can't hide again and try to sneak through because they all just magically know where you are, so you have no choice but to fight... but, see above.

I swear, this mission...

So, I went back to do more recon, and found a disguise spot at the North Dock (and one NOT on any maps I found online...).  So I went back into the mission.  I thought I might go grab some of the other secondary loot prior to going to the compound, and went up to the airfield.  I went into the shed where there's some gold and white stuff... I burned the lock.  I waited to see if there was any reaction, but nothing.  I opened the gate... and immediately everything on the island became hostile.  NOTHING could have seen me, I was inside a building with no windows and only one entrance, and there was NOTHING and NO ONE there... so, how?

Is this what happens if you try to take any of the secondary objectives, it automatically voids any disguise or stealth?

Ok!  Started over and didn't grab any secondary stuff.  Went to the disguise, no problems.  Drove to the compound, no problems.  Once inside, it took a little planning to get where I wanted to go, but no real problems.  Got into the vault, stole the tequila, then left the building.  Thought about trying for the seconday targets, but they all seem to require 2 keys, so I didn't bother.  I expected to go back to the airfield and grab the gold and goodies there... but somehow they knew the jig was up?  Magic, as usual, so I just swam away to claim my 1.37 million... but only got 1 million, 370k went to other expenses?  Seems a trifle high, but whatever.

Took about an hour.  Not too bad.

The trick was that I didn't know I needed to find the disguises' locations before starting.  I originally thought they'd always be in the same location, but then figured I'd have to find them on arrival for the finale, if they're going to be moved around.  Knowing to look for them during the recon made all the difference.

Cargobobs drive shark card sales.... Duh! The fools.

Edit: And please.. Give me a f*cking Packard you jackasses. From VC. I'd pay 6 million for this just to hear Pegasus concierge tell me they can't deliver it. LOL

This, why the f*ck do Rockstar keep putting the magnificent looking Skylift in every game since Ballad of Gay Tony only to render it extremely difficult to obtain AND unusable outside of missions where the magnet is scripted to work!?!? There’s no good reason we shouldn’t have had a functional Skylift added with the Hangar update!

Enemies can see through walls. Always make sure there's no potential threat in the area before taking secondaries. Again, this heist takes time to learn all the little skills and tricks and issues with, so don't expect it all to go perfect from the start.

Personally, it depends on Guard Outfit spawns. There are about 3 guard outfit spawns that spawn close to the compound entrance area (Under the two closest guard towers and by the comm tower) so they're fairly esy to reach without detection. Then it depends on Coke spawns, of course.

Though North Dock entry... North Dock entrance wit hLongfin is still iffy, right? I don't know what they did to it. Also, sometiems the NPC driving the Jeep somehow detects me despite me not being in th evision cone at all, he just starts driving crazy and goes off road and if I don't kill him then and there alarm goes.

The longfin problem, just hold half throttle, handbrake, and turn, before you take control. It's an easy tight turn with the handbrake but it seems this isn't widely known.

I finally managed to get the Chakra Stones mission for English Dave completed earlier, after about a dozen attempts. Each time the mission would glitch and fail. Sometimes no delivery corona, sometimes it would restart immediately once I had set off from the commune with the stones.

If you're talking about the shed I think you are, I'm pretty sure either the guard or camera detects you through the building regardless. I ran into that problem myself a number of times. Now I always cut the power and shoot that guard on that walkway before doing anything over there.

I've been reluctant to shoot any of them, there's no way to know which ones are telepathic.

If you are still B&M-ing that the coronas don't work during some activities, I have the answer for you of why that is, as this has happened to me now two times in a row: it's those f^$#ng spam bots/modders, that spam messages about "come here and get whatever $GTA" and drop a link in 10 000 messages for a second. So, if you see one of those in your lobby - just switch to another lobby instead. The coronas in this one are already f&*$ed. :r*:

Normal menus users can break them as well. They are responsible for all missing Coronas and cars not delivering. They can be in a server and never cause a problem. It’s the ones that forcefully take the role of ‘Script Host” that f*ck it all up.
