No doubt, I’m saying once support ends have GTA+ become a service that allows you to keep your account active, and implement dedicated servers. I’m still a sucker for the Project Americas concept that would have allowed us to at the very least access the maps of LC, LS, and VC via one character/account. That’s clearly not the direction they’re going it seems, but could have revolutionized the concept of an online GTA game. But yeah, ultimately I’d like some way to keep access to my main account I’ve put almost a decade into building up. If VI ends up being good and has a bigger/better version of the online mode we’ve got now I’m sure I’ll be focused on that eventually.

Not sure how long they plan to hold onto the second part but if they're dripfeeding until April or so, we might have to wait longer than that.

From what it seems like it's only gonna be a 2-part storyline for the whole thing, but I might be mistaken. Rockstar knows how to overhype their content don't they? Lol.

Most of these years for GTA 5 not online dlcs was disappointing. Rockstar has become what it used to parody.

GTA 4 remaster got cancelled but at least in its days it got dlcs. Think about it. Only GTA 1 and 4 received dlcs or expansions.

5 got cut after 2015 or 16. The game was 55 to 70 GB before and now its 110 and bundled with R* Launcher on Steam and everywhere.

No wonder we could see this cash cow coming to phones this year.

Will it be right now or even soon ? Nope probably not. A lot of people conflate the idea of maintenance mode with the game dying/shutting down when its not the case. Red Dead Online is in maintenance mode. Honestly, I've never seen more full lobbies than I've seen these last 3 months (PS4 version). Makes no sense. Either we're the only lobby in the Eastern U.S or maybe that thing will last longer than we thought?

 

Anyway, the GTA Online we know today is gonna have 20 - 25 player console lobbies for years. Too much content for a new player to pass up. All R* has to do is throw little taxi missions or holiday collectibles or 3x $ on any twitter/newswire feed to get a new click. Simple, fun looking screenshot is all it takes for somebody to think, hmm never seen that before.

 

All the content that the majority of us b*t©h and moan about is actually what attracts the mass of casuals who have both little time and little patience, in regards to the massive DLC's we got used to in the past.

 

Imagine John Doe starting Online for the first time the day Cayo Perico dropped. 3 fails later, boom, gone back to Fortnite.

 

Throw Mr. Doe 200 Jack'o'lanterns, some UFO's and a car of his dreams and he's hooked for a week. Maybe by then he has enough curiosity to Google search communities like these and be sucked in from the multiple threads and years of features R* didn't mention in the Halloween event tweet.

* Could you imagine how many more people would've stayed on PS3/Xbox 360 servers for GTA IV online if it had the same amount of content this version had the day the VI releases? 2013, 2014, 2015 Liberty City would've still been packed!

 

PS4/XboxOne GTA Online version got legs. Maintenance Mode or not. 

 

And we all know that there's gonna be alot of gen 9 players crying about how thin the next Online is going to be. So the lobbies even then, those first few years will still have considerable activity.

 

J+T will be sittin' on a $Billion when Vice City drops. Their only nostalgia in the Rockstar Universe is Los Santos, SA. They aint going anywhere soon.....well, until the new Palm Tree t-shirt.

There's apparently an award for doing stunts while driving a customer so  I bet some of the paintjobs are unlockable that way.

what are you talking about? you may not think the amount/cost ratio of Shark Cards is worth it but for $5 a month you get half a mil, double what the $4 SC gives you, on top of free stuff and steep discounts, name another game subscription that is "like a lot" better than this one? they all give some virtual currency and some free stuff and access to stuff non subs don't get, like how is this different to literally any other game sub?

Please, please let's not turn this thread into an argument about GTA+ already, ffs. Just a forewarning before the topic gets filled with 2 pages of this lol.

 

Also I think their opinion was if it were a *mandatory* sub, if you had to pay to play GTAO, which would render some of the sub-only benefits useless (as non-subs wouldn't be able to play), but that's not happening anyway, that's ridiculous, it's why GTA+ exists in the first place I'd say. It was designed to be a subscription to get benefits and things, not pay to play, and I think for what it is, it does it well. It's not supposed to appeal to everyone, and it indeed isn't that different or worse than many other games' subs, some have other premium content that the R* community would have a stroke about if it happened with GTA.

I’m expecting the next two weeks to be rather light ones in the new vehicle/content department. Honestly, the DW concept probably would have worked better as two separate updates… if they keep giving us stuff weekly they’ll run out before April, if they stretch it out to May/June it’s going to be pretty dull and slow IMO. Still though, better than nothing at all I suppose..

I haven't unlocked most of the Turbo Boost paintjobs yet, let alone those Sideswash or whatever that I have to do and now we got taxi job stunts. XD

I'm really hoping Rockstar will buff the payouts before release. From what I remember, the smuggler plane and flare freemode events were originally planned to be $10K but that was increased to $25K before release. I'm hoping the same will happen with taxi jobs.

IT should at least be on par with Ammu-nation/Mixed Goods/Bike/2x Car deliveries in terms of ratio per 5-10 minutes worth and hopefully more after a certain amount of fares.

We know there's a "Taxi Fast Travel" option on PS5/XSX consoles. Most likely GTA+ exclusive. New GTA+ event starts on January 19th.

 

It would be more reasonable for Rockstar to release the Taxi Work business alongside that option.

Alternatively they might make it start at the beginning of February again so it's re-synced to start at the beginning of each month. Meaning Jan 19 - Feb 2 gets some benefits, Feb 2 - Mar 2 gets others. Could also be when the Taxi missions are releasing.

Speaking of the Year of the Rabbit, there's a new tunable variable to enable the Rabbit Peyote Plant.

 

Basically, we would have the normal land peyote plants, but there's a chance rate each one could transform you into a rabbit. Rockstar can adjust the chance rate as well. Eventually, each land peyote plant would transform you into a rabbit.

 

Safe to say, we would have peyote plants on January 19th. And I assume every week until February 9th, Rockstar would adjust the RNG chance rate.

Winter like that doesn't exist in Los Angeles to begin with. It's not supposed to last 3 months like it would in Liberty City / NYC.
