Chaff has less uses so I've always put flares on my aircrafts and Opp Mk2. Chaff is useful against players but I dont know if it'll be equally beneficial in preps and Smuggler Run source missions.

I mainly use it for killing MK2 abusers so flares are not usefull because the Mk2 spams rockets like no tomorrow. I can pop Chaff, fire a couple of missiles and quickly go behind trees or buildings to mess with their auto-lock.

didn't the orbital used to not give refunds when striking RC and MOC at the very start of it being added?

 

i believe they added the refund later in another uodate.

 

same with the "teleport" function of the RC's.

They end up changing a lot regarding refunds and whatnot. It indeed used to be when you either missed your shot or the player didnt die you'll lose the money regardless. The teleport function for RC's was a bug on R*'s end so you could be killed in an RC as well because your character would physically pop out. This is the main reason why the RC teleport worked for a short period of time. Nowadays people just teleport by turning off their controller immediately when joining a job on the map and turning them on when they get an error message. You can still throw sticky bombs from your RC though, funny sh*t.

it´s a game limitation.

collisions don´t load when far away to safe performence, but the sniper has a large draw distance so you can hit flying vehicles, so it´s longer than the collision draw distance.

maybe it would be fixable if they were to reduce the draw distance while having thermal vision enabled.

but not sure if that would be feasable

cayo for me aswell.single player heist FTW.

 

the contract was a dissapointment tbh. all the budget went to dre and the music making all the other content mainly the vehicles suffer for it. 

for me it was just like after hours. 

 

also felt meh for a december update just like arena war.

It's regarded as best only because it's the best grinder and it requires the least of time to complete. It was inferior in other aspects such as vehicles, clothing and other items compared to other updates. We had new island which was only designed for the heist itself so it's not a significant map expansion if it can even be called that. Still i can't sh*t on it as i've grinded the most amount of cash by playing it and it's fast and ez. Still in terms of content i would say the doomsday heist was the most versatile and had good amount of vehicles, weapons, etc even though i i'm not that fond of whole Clifford and saving the world arc. Bogdan was the champ though.

casino+diamond had nice cars yeah, but it's also most buggy imo

 

contract dlc was nice, but the suvs could've been done a lot better

Cayo Perico is the biggest disappointment for me.

 

When I heard, we finally get a whole new location, my little heard was brightened, but then it was 2 missions exclusive...

I was just at the LSCM and thought to myself, why the hell didn't they add some personal storage with the membership. 

 

It's such a big place I am sure they could've added some garage doors around the test track that would represent players garages. 

 

It would be reasonable I think especially since there is already a spawn point at the LSCM. How cool would it be tho? You spawn at the garage, hop in to the car and you are spawned inside of the test track

 

Oh and regarding CP again, let's not forget the amount of great music they added. Just excluding keinemusik I guess :p

- Transfering vehicles from garage to garage via a menu rather than physically driving them around

- Resupply (bunker) resources from the MOC/Terrorbyte/Avenger

- Remove the K/D stat completely in Freemode. Players can only see your K/D ratio during PvP/Adversary modes

- Surrounding players will be notified when a certain player exits passive mode to counter passive-popping

- Player will no longer be compensated when they orbitalstrike your RC car or when you're inside a MOC/Terrorbyte/Avanger.

- More nerfs to the MK2's rockets and tracking capabilities. The rockets are still way to powerfull for such an easy maneuverable vehicle

- Fix the MK2 hitbox. Players on the ground have an extremely hard time shooting people off their MK2, even with the musket and BST.

  The hitbox on the player is scuffed so you'll end up hitting the Mk2 itself instead of the player that's been harassing you

- More work-around fixes to the (casino) godmode glitches. The servers have been plagued with them for way to long

- A fix for the Nightclub god-mode speedo van. AfterHours is from 2018 people, this glitch has been in the game for 4,5 years now...

- For the love of god, fix the bug when your CEO interaction menu becomes unresponsive when someone leaves the server. You can't use your CEO abilities, call in a CEO vehicle etc. when a player leaves the session. it will just hang on "Contains CEO options". It's not just your CEO options either, sometimes the entire interaction menu becomes unresponsive when someone leaves the lobby

- Ability to remove unwanted phone contacts. At the very least re-organize them. Make the separation between players and services

- Fix the ability to shoot through walls when using a thermal scope/helmet

- Reduce the ability to spam RC vehicles. Add a timer between both the tank and the bandito to counter spamming them over and over

- Take another look into the thermal jets. Just remove the ability to change your CEO clothing style in an aircraft and you're all set. Given, it's extremely helpfull to kill NPC's but it's killing freemode in some degree when you have IIllIlllllI-x and xB4DSp0rT- using 2 of them in a lobby

- Add the possibility to add and edit custom plates directly from the mechanic. Why do we need to use an rather unnecessary app to create such an easy thing?

- Add imani tech (homing jammer to be precise) to non-weaponised aircraft. I just want to fly my Shamal or Velum in peace without -IshuraxLZ locking on the me for no particular reason

- Remove the ability to kill the shop cashiers in (clothing) stores resulting them to be closed. There is nothing more frustrating to be kicked from your store, minding your own business because some clown decides to blow everything up from the outside. This option already exists for the barber, why not inplement it to the AmmuNation and the clothing stores as well?

- Remove the cooldown for calling and returning non-weaponized vehicles. Why do i have a cooldown when i accidently called my wrong supercar? 

- Increase or remove the CEO/VIP limit in lobbies

This could line up with the reasoning from a dev. That Rockstar has the fix implementation, but it involves changes to Sony & MS network as well. Because a step of the glitch is that you spam the platform interface/menu so many times it interrupts Rockstar's network code. Sony & MS believes the issue isn't from their end. Worth noting that I don't know the full picture, so I wouldn't lay the blame on either side. If Sony & MS are to implement changes like that, they can't make an exclusive case for a single developer. Maybe Rockstar could fix the glitch, but their analysis showed that the technical debt is too high, there's a risk of breaking core components/systems across the way.

 

If Rockstar ever figures this out, then there's a chance this could lead to them patching the Casino Lucky Wheel glitch, Shipwreck glitch that allows you to collect the same shipwreck 7 times within a single day to unlock the clothing reward that actually should have taken you more than a single day. Plus, the heist replay glitches. So not exactly a win-win situation for some players.

I am one of the players on PC. I can say the nightclub god-mode speedo has still not been patched. Sitting in the speedo, pressing "E" to enter modified vehicle menu, and then clicking right-mouse, all they had to do was just pressing "Home" button on keyboard when choosing "Exit nightclub". Then they got a god-mode speedo. I hope the god mode glitch can be patched permanently, at least casino god mode and nightclub god-mode speedo.

Yeah i was afraid that was the case...however they can "simply" remove the heat signature when you're behind buildings or obstacles. Kinda defeats the purpose of the scope, but at least it wont be abused as much.

they technically do iirc.

like you can´t see a player on the other side of the building if you are standing in front of it.

but there comes again the collision draw distance again.

if no collision is rendered at that distance...how can the game know that there is a building between you and the player without the collision calculation...you know.

 

and the heat vision is a day 1 mechanic they just made available.

so if they change it globally, it will affect SP too.

and now imagine it breaking something in those few missions you use it in.

like not being able to see the enemies.

it´s kinda a complex issue

Kind of... They can probably put this stuff behind conditionals/defines and similar but it is one of those things that would require QA to go back to Story Mode and test as it's fundamental engine-side stuff.

yep.

and i don´t think the devs think it´s worth it to change something that deep in the engine.

i mean it´s early legacy code, and we know they hate to touch that

Man... for me 2022 has been an absolutely horrible year for Rockstar Games.

 

RDO got nothing, and GTA Online only got DLC that balanced / fixed things, not much new content.

 

I really hope December DLC is a Heist, a big and complex one.

Now that i've read through this, i do understand how the glitch actually (kinda) works and at the same time why it's extremely hard to fix the issue. (if not, impossible). The only thing i can actually think of is to disable sniper damage output on a certain distance when using thermal outside of the render distance. Also not a very nice workaround so i guess we have to live with this unfortunately. Thank you for the explanation.

Apparently, Rockstar sent a player survey email to select players.

Or just limit the range of the sniper so that it cant shoot enemies that are miles and miles away. Its current range I think is 2000, could be wrong. They could shorten that by a good amount and it would probably fix that issue.

I am positive the survey requires you to be a GTA+ subscriber since it's 100% concerned with their new service.

 

I'm told the survey even asked about what would the player think of a fast travel feature from Los Santos to Blaine County 👀
