Seems to be an okay week. The new races look interesting, have only completed one so far. The new vehicle looks neat, might have to pick that up at one point, though.

I think the only Tornado you can buy in-game, prior to this, was the Hard-Top. The stock convertible variant was never purchasable before today. 

 

They're being honest, but very technical.

 

Fun Fact - there are no npc Cast Iron Silver Tornado's in traffic or parked in the game.

I compared it to my non gang affiliated tornado and that one is darker and shinier. Now that is a rare Toronado as it only spawns at certain times in certain places and you need to be driving a different gang tornado to spawn it. It also has a unique gray convertible top.

I think my alt account set a world record for Going Down tonight. It flashed up something to that effect right before the summary screen. I had a star by the lap time, but that just means you were best lap for the race, right?

I thought you were supposed to get an achievement?

Anyway, even if I did, I don't expect it to last long, I'm not that good of a racer.

 

I have done every race at least once, and I have to say, I'm never doing Flier Flier again. The others range from acceptable to pretty good.

That one long off-road race, that I can't remember the name of but it has 75 checkpoints, was good. The best part was "accidentally" running into the jet parked on the runway 5 or 6 times and punting it into the ocean.

A world record lap time will show during the race, a world record overall time will add WORLD RECORD to the cash/jp/rp screen yeah.

 

You can view global leaderboards either from the results page or from the race setup screen (RB on xbox)

 

I set a lap record for the chopper race and overall for 3-lap something, both within 6 or 8 hours of launch though.

Yes it exists. You can easily check it out with mods. It's pretty bare bones but the foundation is there if they really wanted to work on it and expand it.

I remember spending alot of days trying to hunt that and the blue one back in the day. Once I finally had them, the other 3 unaffiliated gang cars spawned the same day. Fun times.

 

To this day I still have all 20 Gang Vehicles in my garages.

Hey! These races on CP actually feel good. I would love to make a stunt race around here. I've lost both land races and won my 1st air race with a Rogue. You wont win every race but if you dont mind what others are doing... Enjoy your cars here. I just used a Patriot Mil Spec cruising next to a guy using a Rancher XL sure we got our asses kicked by the Drauger but who gives a mk2 flying f*ck?

Yeah its a decent week.

The Cayo Races are fun (as long as nobody ramms you off track having you crash into steel bushes), after 7 years I finally got a World Record and we finally got the metal detector.

 

Sadly the latter is also a little dissapointing because you only get 2 spots in Cayo. Having spots on the main land would have been better imo.

North Yankton lacks collision mapping for roughly 75% of it, not to mention the textures that also lacks details because you're only supposed to see then from far away.

 

Forget it, they're never finishing that place, best we can hope for is that they might make us revisit that place again in a mission and that's it.

 

Maybe they do something to it for GTA VI but even that I consider it unlikely.

I really hate the fact that I have to buy this thing because it's too good for off-road races...Well at least it's better than the BF400.

After intensive testing, i think the Kamacho is still better than Draugur, because it's almost impossible to make the Kamacho fall over. the Draugur easily falls over. Sure the Kamacho understeers a bit and has less perfomance, but it's much more stable to drive.

 

I just farmed a lot of world records, trying different cars, weathers, daytime mostly in the race "Downwards". Kamacho was really the easiest to drive.

 

I always set it to 5 laps, catchup and slipstream off, and then i make each lap around 3-5 seconds faster than the previous one, i always try to reach almost exactly 8 minutes racetime, because then you get max money and RP. It's crazy one set world record always grants 10K RP. 

 

So it's basicly 53K RP and 24626 money every 8 minutes. I leveled up from 925 to 943 today. I hope it's still bugged tomorrow then i keep farming world records, until i reach level 1000, but damn it's so grindy and boring, that i started to always make it rain with thunder and this at night. So at least it looks cool with all the lightning bolts in the background and the nice thunder sound. Oh yeah and listening to music in the background, else it feels way too grindy.

The Draugr is actually from Norse Mythology (That Skyrim is based on, I know) so I assume their inspiration comes from the original but why I don't know. The word sounds cool?

I really shouldn't have to ask this question considering how much time I've spent in this game, but: how do I access the Cayo Perico races? I hate the heist so I never get to experience the island otherwise. I checked all my blip options and ran through a bunch of the job lists and can't find anything.

You play this alone or with more people? Because 53k rp if playing solo and 5 laps is really good. But if you play with more people unless you're good racer you can't be sure that you're always going to wing or even be in first 3 spots.

Pause Menu -> Online -> Jobs -> Rockstar Created Jobs -> Races -> Scroll down to the ones that start with Cayo Perico - [race name].

 

Or, look for the icon at the Terminal.

Like I said, I checked all blips and have gone through job lists. I'm like level 1270 and have years invested in this game - I understand how to join jobs. There are no Cayo Perico races available in the Races menu. There's also no icon at the terminal. I have most blips turned off so I don't know which one would need to be on (I turned them all on - including Race series and Premium race series - and they aren't it). 

 

I've also restarted the game and my PS4. Gonna blame Rockstar as usual.

What does the start screen look like on PS4? Because on PC this is another option:

I actually took the disc out of the PS4 and reinserted it this time and that seemed to do the trick. The races now show in the blip options menu. I didn't pay attention to the loading screen but I'm sure it's similar to PC. Thanks for your responses

I finally drove it today in one of the Cayo races and I think this is my only  issue with it. That thing just tips over really easily at any sharper corner, but otherwise it's a super solid vehicle.

I don’t think you understood my post.  People act as if a whole city called a north Yankton was created.  It wasn’t.  Years ago someone put up a video showing where the exact same streets were on the map.  They covered it in snow and repurposed the streets with different assets, but they never created a whole city.  Now if modders did it on PC, I believe that.  But a whole city was never created by RS, at least that we know of.
