Restored Trees Position

Recommended Posts

It's nice seeing more IV deep dives these days to enhance the experience of the base game.

This's great, it's amazing that you want to mod and fix this game! The vegetation system of IV is quite outdated and uniforms, my opinion is that there is a trees that need to be removed on some streets. Actually the vegetation system of IV is the almost only outdated thing, if this game has present vegetation system would be like remastered and another thing, the draw distance of the trees is too poor, not so much in the far they looks like ugly (imposters) tents, can you do something about that?

Thanks. I already work on removing some weird and misplaced trees in my fixes mod. As for the LODs of trees, they need a complete rework, but all this is better left to more experienced people, I'm just interested in beta content.

Can you tell me how install this mod? I've been trying to install it, but after I installed it, the game always crashing during loading screen.

I have no idea what you did wrong, there is like 3 files which needs to drag and drop with replacement.

The file should rename it first then drag to the GTA 4 folder? Or just simply drag all of the file to the GTA 4 folder?

you will need OpenIV and you need to navigate to  gtaiv/pc/data/maps , open up the .img files according to the file names in the mod and drop the files in there.

Another update, probably the last one, because I don't think there is anything left to do, until more information about beta becomes known.
Restored more trees, like in previous post they are marked with yellow outline.

Replaced tree model from the second option (which should match to late beta). Thanks to a better screenshot, I managed to determine tree model and restore everything as it should be.
Edit: added EFLC compatibility.

I really love this mod, it gives the game so much atmosphere with all the trees around the map.

Shame it isn't compatible with EFLC Map updates, otherwise it is perfect for me.

The only thing that is bothering me about the game is how there is less variety of trees on the pc version and how on console there are far more differently colored trees.

Here is an example:

I never thought about compatibility with EFLC, gonna make it in a few hours, check the main page, if it is edited, then compatibility is done.
As for console trees, sure, they look more diverse, despite the fact that the quality is worse than on PC, I'm still waiting when someone find a way to port them from there.

Since EFLC is supported, maybe you could restore the trees in TBoGT on Hove Beach ?

This is planned for various fixes, sure I can include it here, but I'm not going to update this mod until I find more info about removed trees.

Just a heads up @Attramet there's one faulty file in TLAD, one of the Manhat files is an addition, not a replacement and adding it to the archive causes the game to glitch out, the rest of the game works fine though if you ignore that one file. (Complete Edition on Steam here).

Oh, ok, thanks for letting me know, for my game this file does not causes any issues, whether it is in the archive or not, but I will try to find a solution to the problem in next update, which is almost ready

and here is the update
Restored more trees, like always they are marked on map with yellow outline.

Removed a problematic file in TLAD that could cause problems in game. It didn't have any important changes, just a few trees on Algonquin were moved in it.

EDIT: Completely different question.

Which files are incompatible with the main game / episodes? I'm asking since I can toggle different files off for each episode with IV Tweaker, but I'm not sure if I can run all of the files on at once, can I?

Those that have the same name? I don’t know what the result will be if you try to launch IV with EFLC files, and vice versa, most likely the game will simply crash.

Yeah, it seems like so. I think the files as a whole don't work with IV tweaker because all of them make the game crash, even if I only load IV ones with IV and EFLC ones with EFLC.

I'll try through UAL or direct installation eventually.
