Can someone help me settle an argument

Ok i was doing the casino big con hard difficulty with a friend, the friend was in the vault and the gas released before they got out setting an alarm off.  My friend said they didnt do anything wrong and that the gas always gets released even if you get out before the timmer goes down.  They then claimed I set the alarm off for running in the man trap.

 

Im i right and they trigged the alarm or is she right and I trigged the alarm?

The alarm goes off for not leaving the vault in time.

The gas does get released after the time expires, and if you are inside the vault when that happens, the alarm goes off.

Says the host who kept trying to rush my character on numerous times when I was getting ammo and armour.. Not cool, I had helped this player with the ULP missions and get this in return? Not to be trusted... Also got snarky about other stuff..

Yeah only time you stay in the vault past time for extra loot is if you do aggro approach.

The alarm will sound if players are still in the vault at the end of the timer.

The question seems like it was answered, plus it looks like this is taking a very different route and should be brought to PM.
