Making San Andreas as faithful to real 1992 as possible

Before I start, a note to the moderators - I wasn't sure exactly where to put this so hopefully here is best but if you want to move it elsewhere, obviously feel free to do so

I've been collecting different links to different mods in order to try and make my game world feel like the real LA, SF and LV but I'm sure I'm missing plenty so I figured making a thread to try and collect all of the various mods to make it as realistic as you possibly could might be a good idea if people could help suggest or even mod creators could create things.

I would love to make my own mods and I know there are tons of tutorials out there but I suppose some guidance based on those tutorials and also experience from different modders to help would be what I really need as I struggle to try and do things on my own.

 

What mods (and if there are multiple of the same thing, is there a 'best' version) are there out there to make each city feel real?

 

Things out there already available include:

- the Hollywood sign

- the Welcome to Las Vegas sign

- real Vegas casinos

- US bank tower

- Transamerica Pyramid

- 7-eleven instead of 24-7,

- real fast food outlets (albeit, the current mods out there seem tailored to current or at least modern McD, BK, KFC rather than looking like the 1992 variants), 

- real vehicles (really easy to find between all the modded vehicles and different mod packs admittedly)

- adboards that recreate 1992 adverts and themes

- intrinsic things to each city like the graffiti in Los Angeles and the murals along the highway between the hospital and Grove Street.

- changing the colours of the gangs to represent Crips and Bloods (albeit, if you were to add ESRGAN peds then the poor current textures would look out of place for gang members)

 

What else could be added/changed to really represent as real an experience as can be?

 

It never makes sense to me to add in modern cars or other touches as it takes away from what is already a pretty great early 90's feel in the base game, losing that sense of immersion whereas adding the reality to the OG game would just enhance it.

I just recently started using a modpack from a Reddit user and am really enjoying it. He aimed to restore the PS2 feel of the game and done a great job. A couple of my favourite mods are the Real Gun Sounds (https://www.gtainside.com/en/sanandreas/mods/154962-real-weapon-sounds/), 90's Weapon Pack (https://www.gtainside.com/en/sanandreas/weapons/126487-90s-atmosphere-weapons-pack-reborn-3-0/) and 90's Vehicle's Pack (https://www.moddb.com/mods/90s-atmosphere-vehicles-pack-reborn-20).

 

The Vehicles Pack keeps the in-game names of the vehicles but the actual models are replaced with sutiable real life alternatives.

 

You should post some updates on here with how you are getting on, really like the idea of this.

Apperance would be second, third or the last concern for you.. You are gathering mods together and these mods must be COMPATIBLE together and doesn't conflict each other.. In order to do that you may need a lot of modding experience and a lot of permissions from other Authors.. off course if one of these Authors don't give you permission your project may get stuck which sucks..
