BSOD while playing gta online

I have been having bluescreens while playing gta online for half a year now. I tried almost every option to fix it i found online. None of them worked for me. I' ve been waiting for the update to see if something changed. It didnt.
I can play for about 5 minutes, after that I get a bluescreen and my pc gets rebooted, and i'm at the homescreen.
I'm only having this problem with gta, other games dont cause bluescreens even if I play them in the best graphics settings, so I dont think my pc is the problem.

Your PC most probably is the problem.

 

Maybe you got some background process running that the game doesn't like. Like mouse or keyboard software or LED software or this or that. I mean something must be wrong else you wouldn't get a bluescreen.

I disabled all of the by you mentioned background processes and tried to play again. Sadly the Problem still occurs. Is there a way to find out what bachground Process is causing the BSOD?

I have had this same issue, turned out to be an overclock setting that did not give me problems anywhere else, except in GTA V. Apparently GTA V is very sensitive to any small issues with PC.

It took 10 hours of stress testing (prime95 blend mode) to catch the issue, whereas GTA V crashed within minutes.

I reduced the overclock, passed 24 hours of stress testing and GTA V hasn't given me issues since.

I dont really know much about Pc's so i dont know how to reduce overclocking

I noticed if overclock my GPU, sometimes the game crashes, if i wanna ALT+Tab out and back in. If it's at default clocks that doesn't happen so often but still happens.

 

But if i underclock it, then it never crashes. Maybe the game just doesn't like GPU's that are a bit overclocked by default already. Like TUF Gaming, ROG, Trio, Superclocked etc. whatever all the names are. I got a TUF Gaming RTX 3080 OC. Some games just don't like the default oc it already has.

 

 

You could try to download an overclocking software like MSI Afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak2 or whatever, and reduce the GPU clock by like 10-30 and see if that helps. Maybe read some tips about your specific brand and model, by just googling it how to underclock it.

I downloaded the MSI Softwaree and did as you said and now im playing for over an hour again so without any bluescreens. So thanks for the help.
