How to play GTAO on PC without getting teleported and attacked by mods and modders?

My question is deadsimple.

How can I play GTAO on PC again, and have fun without modders and their mods? I LOVE gtaonline, but I hate modders. I'm not planning on using 3rd party servers, if you know what I mean. But I just want GTAO back on my PC, play it till GTAVI trailer comes out and have fun.

Only one answer:  solo session  (or invite only with friends)

Even R* can't deal with them, so there is no hope. But if you know how to do a solo public

Either play in a solo session or install a menu so they can’t f*ck with you.

Paper Mario

i had something funny happen recently. i think i was fighting a modder? but if it was, he sucked horrendously.. he couldn't kill me, and i couldn't kill him as his health kept the same after shooting him. but then i hit him with my car, and he wasn't able to get back up. usually these modders have a way to instantly stand up again, but this one didn't. and as he couldn't die, i was driving over his body for a long time. backing up, going forward, backing up, etc etc.

then he left.

The real answer would be Invite Only without inviting anyone. That way you can do more things than solo session, especially with this latest update.

I hear paid menus allow you to bypass and "search up" players within invite only sessions. I recently noticed random people i've never seen nor interacted with (not even from 'Last Job' either, strictly free mode play) enter my invite session and swiftly leave upon my pausing and noticing of their presence.

These players are also spoofing their usernames by default. I have a couple screenshots i won't post with usernames with spaces in (something you cannot do on PC). I can only assume these people are looking for large groups to f*ck with.

Aye that's true although supposedly if people created accounts on the PlayStation or Xbox with spaces in them and then transferred those accounts to PC when they could, the name would remain with the gap(s) in them. I can't confirm.
There's also the idea that Rockstar Games Staff might occasionally go online (and even into Invite Only sessions, historically at least) just to "check on stuff" and some of their older accounts weren't subject to the restrictions we have today (with affiliated Rockstar gamers having _RSG in their username following their primary name when previously in the early days it was just a space followed by RSG).

There is a solution against these stalkers, block outbound IP 192.81.241.173 and 174, then change session and they can't find you. As downside you can't play missions like heists while it's active.

Hmm, but the SC nickname and console nickname are separate?

Probably.

It's possible there's been a few changes over time; I remember one person could no longer put a . period or - dash in their name or something so had to use an _ underscore.

After R* made it possible to do sales in private lobbies, the answer is clear. Before we used to clear sessions via Task Manager or Resource Monitor by stopping GTAV process for 5 secs.

Yeah they removed a dot from available symbols, probably because people had some glitchy nicknames. Even now if you go to some people profiles with og names with dots it can fail to load their profiles pages properly.

Invite Only session is the best for running solo.

Joining a large (500-1000 playes) well run crew that does all of their gaming in sessions without pubbies and polices their sessions against modders that sneak in is even better.

Did you look at the date on the OP? That was before the update. IIRC, it was just before they even announced it.

honestly this is a massive problem which is insane how bad it really is.

I don't know how many people on this forum are actually PC players, but every session I join has a modder in it.

GTA Online is fun in a full lobby doing things with other players, fighting with other players/organizations, or chatting with others.

it's crazy how rare it is to find a normal lobby that doesn't get ruined by a modder.

the whole "play in a solo/invite only lobby" is stupid. I shouldn't have to resort to playing alone because how bad the cheating is on a online game.

I'm considering getting the PC version purely for mods for Snapmatic, but other than that, it's just too much of a damn headache--there's been multiple players on Social Club complaining about the same player for months wrecking their stuff when they try to play the game. Damn shame really. 😔

I can't believe there's still people who unironically play the PC version of GTA Online. That sh*t has been broken since a week after launch. Your best bet is either getting a menu yourself or buying an Xbox One S from a local pawn shop and playing on there instead.

What me and my friends are doing is making a big crew with like 50 players and whenever we play we always have a crew session (4) running so we have like our own private server. Can modders still mess with us like this? We haven't had any yet

If a modder gets the Social Club ID of one of the participants, then he will be able to join any closed session. Even to solo. He can chase the victim until he won't get bored.

The only true protection against modders/hackers/cheaters is an IP filter. Then they can't join your session, it's 100% safe. So whenever a modder is bored and tries to stalk you following you from session to session, IP filter helps.

Went back to PC this past week and it has been peaceful as hell. Had one player using teleport plus explosive rounds on me during a business battle. Let them blow up the car before calling in my OP MK2 because they were too dim to realize they couldn't teleport into the sky or that their menu could spawn them inside of a jet beside me. Another player was able to escape with the other crate.
