Ok, I have one question....How would this game's replay value be if we can all just grind 200million in one week very easily? I always wondered how those who do money glitches actually enjoy any challenge in playing the game or is GTA just another hack outlet to laugh at? The fact it takes time to grind and save up for goals is a part of the game. I'm also surprised Cayo stayed the way it is for so long. All this time I was like "How nice of them" thinking they made a mistake but couldn't change anything yet and feared what kind of nerf would eventually come. For me personally, it makes no difference.

But I'm wondering now if the cooldown is only for the finale or does it include the setup missions because the write up is only saying the "Finale".  Quote- "Solo playthroughs of The Cayo Perico Heist Finale will trigger a cooldown of 3 in-game days." If so, then we should still be able to take our time doing the setup missions before the 3 in game cooldown time and register for hard mode as usual.

Also, speaking for myself, I do not intend for my more optimistic view to be an attack on anyone who is disappointed by the nerf. It's just more positive perspective in an attempt to help look at it another way and maybe help lessen any stress. If you feel attacked by someone else's perspective because it's different than yours, I don't know what to say. I will enjoy the game in my own way regardless and that's all that matters.

I can't help but wonder if we'll be getting another soloable heist in the future, and that's why the Cayo nerf happened. Maybe it wasn't to necessarily diversify the current online but to diversify the future online and give people a bigger incentive to play what's next. Probably just a tin foil hat theory but it crossed my mind

If the Winter DLC truly involves Michael who knows tbh. Could definitely see him trying to pull of yet another heist for his film stuff.

For me, having more money actually makes the game more fun. I can buy whatever I want without feeling like my wallet took a hit. I can do less lucrative yet more fun activities (racing, Arena Wars, etc) without feeling like I'm wasting time. Seeing a higher amount in my bank just makes me feel more financially secure psychologically.

Granted, it's easier to make money now than it was before, say Casino. But some people don't want their video game to feel like a second job. They are already working like a dog in real life. They want to be able to get into that flashy new supercar right away, so of course they're always going to gravitate towards the fastest money method.

Damn so solo players will have to wait for 144 minutes just to purchase the next hard mode? is that right? you gotta stay on the game for an extra almost 2.5 hours just to ensure you get hard mode for the next cayo heist?

I would have figured They player would get the call after 10 minutes go buy the hard mode heist then have a timer like in the casino for the wheel but inside the kosatka letting you know when its time for that next heist to be ran. perfect world i guess

I'm not sure if I'm getting you correctly tbh.

The cooldowns are triggered the moment you finish off a Cayo Perico Heist Finale playthrough. When you go back to the city after the finale, the cooldown timers are ticking. Even before you receive a message from Pavel.

The basic cooldown is currently 10 minutes until you can scope again. During that, the grace period timer for hard mode is ticking. So once the basic cooldown elapses, you're left with around 50 or 48 minutes to start the heist with hard mode activated.

With the new solo cooldown, the basic cooldown for them would be 144 minutes. But the grace period for hard mode would likely remain active for an hour after the 144 minutes cooldown.

It would be specific to players I assume since there is a lot to do, the need for money would be out of the way.

As I posted at the top of this page,  i'm wondering if the cooldown is for the Finale only but we can scope and do setups as usual including registering for hard mode? The newswire only mentions the Finale. I usually buy the hard mode but don't play the heist until the next RL day and it's still hard mode.

Well I have always had a decent amount of cash (about 30-40 Million) since Import/Export and if anything it made me enjoy the game even more than it did before.

Want something new? Well just throw out some cash and get it. Enjoy it for a while and then use it to get the cash spend on it back.

Now at almost 400 Million that really hasnt changed, except that it doesnt bother me as much if I buy something I dont like afterwards.

So if anything, I think it would have improoved it for me. The breaks I took I would have taken anyway.

That's a you issue, way above this place's pay grade but free advice; you should not be filling what ever gaps your life has with video games and especially not with mundane repetitive, monotonous tasks. Exactly this.

The only people defending the nerf are those who already got fat off it and dont think anyone else should be able to as well.

The people looking down on anyone opposing the nerf are the same TYPE of people that tell others they dont need more garage space.

Just because *YOU dont play a certain way, doesnt mean something should get changed so that others can no longer play the way they like. Most especially when it doesnt effect *YOUR game at all.

Just because *YOU are sick of hearing people recommend CPH doesnt mean Rockstar should nerf it.

Just because *YOU dont collect cars, doesnt mean others shouldnt ask for more space

There will always be a method that is the "Go to Method" with everyone saying they are sick of hearing about this method and its the only method people play.

In the begining it was Rooftop Rumble. For whatever reason people cried about that when it was the only way to make money. So that got nerfed. Then a new method. People cried about that and it got nerfed. Then another and another and another.

Why are people crying about how other people are playing their game when it doesnt effect them even the slightest? The Oppressor NEEDED the nerf. It effects people very negatively. The only people that would oppose that are griefers or grinders if the nerf effects hurt NPC engagement.

Sure the CPH nerf doesnt seem to be that bad but thats not the point. How someone plays a game that doesnt effect *YOU even one iota is none of your concern. Just because you dont play that way doesnt mean others shouldnt be able to.

I dont care if a restaurant has 100 things on the menu. If Johnny wants to eat only one thing on that menu so what. For *YOU to tell Johnny to SHUT up and order a salad or a soup or a hamburger is preposterous. The restaurant has an endless supply of realistic steak. So what if Johnny comes in everyday and eats only realistic steak. I like to have realistic steak once a week but if all Johnny wants is realistic steak, I could care less. If Johnny feels disappointed that he cant eat realistic steak as much as he would like even though theres an endless supply of it, Im not going to tell Johnny to "Shut up. Find something else on the menu or go somewhere else". Im going to tell Johnny, "Youre right. I understand your complaint". The people snobbishly telling Johnny to eat something else or go somewhere else already got their fill of realistic steak long ago and dont think Johnny or anyone else deserves to eat as much as theyd like now.

*YOU = anyone defending the nerf and ridiculing anyone opposed to it

Couldn't have said it better myself. If the people defending the nerf approve of said nerf, fine. But don't go attacking, ridiculing, or otherwise making fun of people who prefer to do the same things over and over again. Let them play their game. You play your game.

This is such a great post it just had to go into the Quotable Notable thread. Enjoy your enshrinement.

f*ck, so a 2.5hr timer for hardmode. looks like you'll have to schedule your whole life around some sh*tty game if you want to keep getting hardmode. that's my main issue with the nerf.

f*ck hard mode. The money for CP is fine either way and while some may call it boring it's just a very easy hour of gameplay. And your in the Kosatka. The coolest sh*t in the game basically. 😆 It truly is meditative for some. I swear. Yeah Cayo is boring you having selected a kosatka entrance for the 20th time in a row. hard mode is a big bonus. $140k-$180k extra is a lot, and pays for the fencing and pavel fees.

We can own so many cars already, no idea why some ppl need even more space.

Maybe ppl shouldn't buy so many duplicates, then it's more than enough to get a really really big collection of cars.

8 Properties on Tuesday it's 10 so 100 slots

CEO garages 60 slots

Bikers club 10 bikes only but also useful

Special Vehicles in the I/E underground garage

Arena Wars garages

Nightclub garages

Casino garage

Arcade garage

Agency garage

Workshop garage

IAA Facility garage

Well and the 1 Hangar

Seriously we got enough space, and if not ppl can use a second char.

There's not many of us left, but....some players Collect "Uncommon" Color Variants of street vehicles on Console. For example: The Matte Orange Gauntlet, which before the Casino DLC could never be found in Freemode at all. After that update and to this day - it can only be found parked in the Casino Parking lot and it's very "Uncommon" to find it there.

There are other Uncommon street vehicles that are more on the "Rare" side, such as the Clean Olive Green Tornado. Sounds simple huh, go ahead and let me know when you find one today, I've been looking for almost a decade! The Dutch Queen on Youtube found one in a video years ago parked in Rockford Hills, a Cream one to (often confused with the Bleached Brown variant), ever since that video it's been my White Whale.

Yes, we know, "you can just steal that car and make it that color,"....to us, the fun is knowing we legitimately tracked it down and took it, in it's original rare form.

Sure we also found and KEPT all 20 Gang Vehicles and the numerous NPC Modified vehicles like the Dubsta 2's and Sandkings n Sentinels, Sabre Turbos, etc. Then you got your more "Uncommon/Rare" vehicles like the Sandy Brown Voodoo with the Clear Coat or the other Force-Spawn-Only variants of the BF Injection like the Worn Straw Beige/ Worn White. More Uncommons like the Sea Green Rusty Tornado or Worn Shadow Silver F620.

Then you got your technical stuff to search for like a basic Washington with a Maui Poly Blue Pearlecent or the only Pheonix with stock Tan rims when you change them. More simpler like the Ruffian with 2 Headlights and the Ruffian with 1, and countless others.

My Point is: There are over 1,000 different "Uncommon/Rare" Color Variant Vehicles out there (Out of 13,000+ Variants, and rising) that keep the few of us searching for over 8 years now. We found our own fun in the game. We'd absolutely love to keep all of the vehicles we find in the future, but as most others our garage space is limited.

I guess part of the thrill is knowing that the majority of the player base doesn't have the Collection we do. Our Mors Mutual insurance on a vehicle is used with earned in-game $ just like anybody elses.

Now add in all the dope rides you can purchase from Legendary + Southern San Andreas Super Auto and other sites that we all love to customize and keep. See the problem here?

We're playing with hundreds of spaces in a Thousands Automotive Wonderland.

Not everybody needs this much space, I get it, we're in the minority, but we do exist. We're a niche group so do what most companies do with niche products - charge us a Premium!

We're Maxed Out for the next 4+ Updates already. You (R*) put these vehicles in the game and somehow made the code keep them Uncommon/Rare. We're down for the hunt!

Let us own all the properties with Garages Rockstar, please.

They really need to expand the color selections. There’s no reason why we have had only 5 additional colors since initial release. Silver, aluminum, black aluminum, and 2 gold colors, WAYYYY back in the hipster update. Rims even have completely different color than body paint.

I really dont get what you are trying to say. Using videogames as a stress release really isnt that uncommon.

When you spend your day playing nanny for your boss and doing the stuff he gets his salary for, doing a repetetiv task like grinding Cayo Perico greatly helps in slowing your brain down to normal ticking speed.

It certainly beats getting blackout drunk, smoking a pack a day and sitting in front of the TV stuffing yourself with Junkfood, like many of my colleagues did.

I enjoy it, it doesnt make me more fat than I already am and it doesnt hurt my health. Could have spend my evening way way worse back then.

This is the only list I've ever used. Well, this is the updated version of the original list http://www.justinr512.com/

The OG list had imgur links at the end/far right of an uncommon variants specs. Those links were our first guidelines to what was considered a rare color or not. After years of focusing on basic traffic vehicles you tend to get a feel for what's out there and what isn't. Most of the big fish are only parked.

The spawn locations however just came from years of driving around experience and the random Youtube videos I'd run across.

Just click on the Sports Classics tab for all the Tornado variants.

Low Grip Tyres sound cool in theory, but hopefully the effect is more akin to actually making the cars more GTAIV-like in terms of grip.

Also, I have to wonder if these low grip tyres are bullet proof? Otherwise what's the point if you can't run from the cops and enjoy more challenging driving?

low grip just makes it handle terrible like on snow. lateral traction and longitudinal traction are both reduced seemingly equally

Well not “duh” as it’s a legitimate question. What’s the logical standpoint of picking low traction tires over bulletproof tires if there’s no benefits at all? Low traction should make it possible to have bulletproof tires simultaneously otherwise it’s just useless and impractical.

Why are people moaning about Hard mode for Cayo? It's a ten percent increase on the Primary Target's value, just do Cayo on Normal and then a Payphone hit and some CEO work, and you're back to where you want to be. Fifteen minutes work instead of waiting two hours.

Please understand, I mean this with no malice, but it just seems to me that people are intentionally moaning for the fun of it.

The Cayo nerf is dumb, it only affects Solo players who want to run it that way, now I play solo most of the time, but I don't run Cayo back to back like that (or much at all) because that bores the hell out of me and will quickly burn me out on GTAO, I like to mix things up to keep it fresh longer, but other people like to play that way, and they're not negatively impacting me when they do, who cares that they netting X amount of GTA $ per hour on their own, not me.

If they really felt this was bad, they should have hotfixed it as soon at the meta showed itself, or with next DLC, not a year and a half and 3 DLC's later.

The things going into in this DLC are there to fix stuff that negatively impact other players or Quality of Life improvements for everyone, this is neither, and is something that should have not been messed with in my opinion.

It's not yet clear how hard mode will work. Chances are they won't even consider this and it's gonna be impossible to get it, aka problem "solved". Tbh instead of that timer they should  rework Cayo similar to DCH, so that approaches would define hard/normal, not some crappy timer.
