So With The Update... Invite Only...

So we will finally be able to sell our businesses in Invite Only sessions with the future update in GTA Online. As someone who has never done an Invite Only session, will this allow us to do everything in GTA Online in that type of session? Or are there other things that are not allowed?

Nobody knows exactly how it will be, but hopefully it will be just like you would be in a public session, without any limitations.

Missions may be harder like if you sell I/E vehicles in a session by yourself you will have npc enemies chasing you but with one other person in the session there is no npcs or they may even reduce payouts if sold in a non public session. The payouts are trash compared to Cayo and contract dlc stuff so hopefully it will be the same as usual but in private sessions but it is R* and they do add a lot of good stuff to the game but f*ck it up every time so who knows.

It should be with no restrictions, but this is R*, who love timers and arbitrary restrictions, so I could see something like a timer restricting you to one sell mission per in game day (48 minutes) so you play longer. If you have three businesses to clear out, someone playing for three hours looks better on their numbers than someone clearing out all their businesses in a half hour and logging off.

Still, it's better than nothing. I just hope that RDO gets the same treatment at some point.

I hope they don't put in any cooldowns or nerf payouts. I mean in public sessions you get a 1% per player bonus for doing sales, that should be enough of a balance IMO. In a full session with 29 randoms you can get a 29% bonus, yeah that is the balance. :D

Maybe they just turn off the high demand bonus in friends and invite only sessions, and that's it.

Other than activities that require a certain number of players (eg business battles, events, challenges) it's all good iirc

No timers or cooldowns? GTA+ benefit.

Only treatment RDO is getting is being 90% abandoned.

I mean, a invite only lobby is created with this exact purpose in mind, but folks use it for solo play because it's quicker and there's less nonsense than setting up a public solo lobby.

I am very concerned they will  institute a R* tax and nerf the payouts a bit .

Okay so good to know my friend wasn't the only one pulling that:
OCadUJc.jpg

I'll be surprised if they merely keep their word, limits or not. If they keep there word and it's just forfeiting the high demand bonus I'd be shocked, given quite literally that is all I'd do if I was R*. Just a "You can sell in Invite Only now, but High Demand is a public only bonus. k thx bye". But given how R* has repeatedly said "X thing fixed" or "X thing removed for X Reason (Hello the bullsh*t that was the Rat-loader being blacklisted way back in the day)" and it either being illogical or the "Fix" was a complete band-aid on a gapping wound. Many of my friend group have our doubts about this "Change" let alone the MKII "Nerf" (better idea R*, remove your "Made in China" Saints Row 3 knock-off hoverbike entirely....one can dream)

I mean the only real way to know is to have the update in the first place, right?

Players already shun most of the ceo/Mc businesses as it is even with x2$$ so it’s going to be interesting to see what creepy uncle R* actually does.  Nerfed payouts definitely won’t bring players back to that work even in I/o lobbies, a slight pay bump won’t do it, with other $$ making options that are more popular right now I doubt even a 50% pay bump will get people to endure the trash trucks and post-op vans of the Mc side of things or the other hated delivery missions of the ceo.  We already have the solo public lobbies to do those sales and most people simply ignore them with x2$$ so what will R* change?  I guess a bit more waiting is in store for us but like always I definitely won’t get my hopes up for anything groundbreaking.  Either way at least this game is getting a update.

I'll be honest, I will be surprised if there is much to this other than what it sounds like (letting us run businesses in invite-only). Why? Because anything extra (like nerfing payouts or adding extra AI enemies that aren't there in public lobbies) is extra work, and it's work they don't want to do for a mere QOL fix. Besides, the real money makers for some time now have been the casino and island heists; not one of these businesses is really of much concern to them, as far as players raking in cash hand over fist. You can set up an island (in invite only no less) and finish it in about an hour, and make over a million bucks; why should they care if you instead are in that same invite only session selling your bunker or MC product? It's actually a downgrade in pay per hour (with the MC businesses, it's a MASSIVE downgrade).

The simple thing to do is what they will probably do, IMO. I know we think of them as greedy and sneaky bastards, and not without cause, but this is really just doing the littlest thing to help old content be a little easier and more enjoyable. Nobody's gonna get rich off of it.

Only benefit I can see if you want to sell with friends in Invite Only/Crew/Friends sessions as Solo Public tricks tend to be a little... asocial at times. Once you're done making money you just screw around with friends and you can only screw around so much until it gets boring with no real goal in mind.

I almost wanted something completely new in the DLC. You know, new property (I know we have a buttloads off them) or something, but I guess it's nice they aim to improve what we already have.

I don't think they will be nerfing payout in solo lobbies. The newswire said there would be increased payouts for selling in populated public lobbies.

I been playing Invite Only exclusively for the past 6 months and thanks to having Cayo and the Agency, the only thing I felt like I been missing out on was running the businesses which require public sessions.  So the only thing missing was selling crates and dealing with random douche bags. Everything thing else is doable.

I don't think they are arbitrary at all.  Everything is meant to slow down money growth.  Why in the world would a mission pay you more the longer you play it?  SHouldn't video games reward you for doing it quicker?  The answer is if you waste more time, you don't earn the base payout by starting another one.  The player who doesn't think about it loses $....

I don't play RDRO but sadly for it's playerbase the previous newswire all but confirmed that game is dead.

I think they said you guys are getting some bag missions some time this year, which Professional compared to basically contact missions.    Otherwise Rockstar says they are moving most of their manpower over to GTA6 and leaving a bit for future GTAO updates.

RDRO is basically getting absolutely nothing moving forward.

Apparently, in terms of sourcing, you can't do it via the Terrorbyte in invite-only sessions. smh...

Hoping they allow for it eventually.

The arcade master control terminal seems to be working. At least I can use it to check stock levels & nightclub stuff. I almost never use it to actually source or launch missions anyway.

Even if you do, the Sell Missions and Source spawn in the normal places so if you sell a Biker business in Paleto you might get bikes that spawn in Paleto.

Yeah, I know. That's the reason I almost never launch missions from there.

The only one it works sort of OK for are the vehicle cargo since you have to run off somewhere else anyway. Maybe I'll try one of those today.

If you had a group of minions working for you then being able to launch sell missions all from one place would be good.

Having done more than one Nightclub sale in an Invite Only yesterday. I'm glad to confirm that.......It was literally no different than a broken public outside of it being slightly less laggy by default of people not trying to join.

But in all seriousness literally everything so far from Nightclub to Special Cargo as been working with no strings attached that weren't already long present in a public lobby. I'm actually impressed that R* for once aired on the side of player choice.....For now...

Yeah, same here.

I think a friends only or crew session should be better than invite only though.

Assuming you have any friends or a crew. :)

ETA: I launched a vehicle source mission from the master control terminal. It launched fine, but it was one of the ones I hate so I changed sessions out.
