I got some leak info about tomorrow. Rockstar will announce they’re going full time in the music industry after gta6 is released. Gta6 will be their last game.

Agreed. I was hyped when they mentioned the game earlier this year and I really thought that this would be the year, but recently I feel like we’re just wasting our time. The thing is that Rockstar wants to surprise the community, while everybody is expecting an announcement instead. Obviously if it was already in the plans to reveal the game this year, this would not stop them from making that announcement, but as more days pass by, the chances get slimmer and slimmer and the fact that the game could actually be released in 2025 gets stronger.

2022 is the only year so far R* talked this much about VI without announcing it officially. They didn't even do that for V or RDR2, they waited until after their official reveals.

Where did you even come to this conclusion lol

 

Even R* themselves know they've been taking their sweet time with VI, a 2024 release is very plausible.

gta 6 is an ambitious game, rockstar are an ambitious company + they dont want to have insane crunch and want to release the game in a close-to-perfect state

a 2025 release is very plausible imo, late 2024 just if we are very lucky but more likely 2025

VI has been in production since at least 2014

If the game is going to be released in 2025, then an announcement this year is very unlikely

If 2 playable characters is what the game will get, I wonder if any tank or other armored combat vehicle would have a seat for a specific role or at least allow such vehicles to have the right number of people.

 

This would make an improvised transport just like the Khanjali in GTA Online.

Yeah, I've mentioned this before and I think it would definitely be doable, especially if they do intend to have occasional hurricanes or strong storms in the game. That stuff could very well be scripted for specific missions, but having minor destruction in free roam would be pretty cool.

From previous experience, oh yeah things are about to get really spicy if they even dare to unpin the tweet... Even if it's something like a GTA V "E&E" PC trailer that's coming instead.

Yep... Even though theoretically if one is to believe something's happening this month we still have GTA VC's anniversary.

Not necessarily... The thing is R* also seems to have changed a couple things in their marketing processes vs. ye olde days, because for instance RDR2 PC was announced merely a month before release whereas GTAV's was dragged for ages. The game not being announced now doesn't instantly mean 2025. It could be releasing then of course, but there's really no correlation just yet.

Announcement year is irrelevant to release year. From announced Elden Ring in 2017 and they went all silent until 2021 and released it the very next year.

 

Rockstar can announce it this year even if it's 3 years from now.

Well if V & RDR2 are anything to go by, there sort of is a correlation between announcement & release, at least when it comes to Rockstar. Elden Ring is irrelevant here, idk why you brought that up.

why are people writing off a reveal friday, because theres no 2 week event?? rockstar isn’t known for big elaborate game reveal plans, they usually just drop a picture and wait a few days for the trailer

Rockstar is more unpredictable than predictable, that's where I believe they could pull an Elden Ring: announce without date, stay silent, resurface when it's close to release date.

 

I'm confident they won't pull another delays-after-delays strats this time around. If it comes in 2025, they could announce it this year, no release date included so they could give more update when it's closer to 2025.

I think people are just grabbing on to the fact that they made a 2 week GTA Online event right before revealing RDR2 but it could not happen.

I think we will not even get an announcement. Just "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Official Trailer" and release next day. R* doesn't need a marketing campaign.

Honestly if the speculation about the post launch support is true and GTA online already being a standalone title now , GTA VI just might be the last one for a long while all jokes aside
