Man, I'd like to be as positive as you are, but I don't really see them releasing the game outside of the Q4 window, for a number of reasons. Imo, if the game doesn't get announced this year, then it'll be announced next year's October, with a release date set for Fall 2025.

I don't understand why there are a lot of people thinking they have to be unpredictable. Why does it matter if they release it on a random "unpredictable" date or on the series' anniversary? Either way the trailer/teaser will break the internet, and everyone will talk about it.

Them revealing GTAVI this month is very likely for a few reasons...

 

• R* confirmed VI's development at the beginning of this year, they didn't do that for no reason.

 

• They talked about VI's development progress again in the summer, telling us RDO had to get axed for it in the same article.

 

• Bloomberg spilled out a bunch of juicy VI details not too long after, with info coming from R* employees themselves who also said the game is at least two years out.

 

• Take-Two's CEO talked about it again a month later in their earnings call.

 

• In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition, there's a picture of a stealth UFO inside an alien themed bar/café in the desert. The picture doesn't look like anything from V or the trilogy re-releases, lots of people (including Tez himself) have pointed to it looking like a picture from GTAVI. With the UFO event going on in GTAO right now, there's a stealth UFO set to make an appearance this Friday, the same stealth UFO from that supposed VI picture from the definitive edition of San Andreas. That could very well nicely tie in to a VI reveal this Friday.

 

• R* launched the PS5/Xbox Series versions of V earlier this year, effectively closing the chapter on V and making way for VI. They even confirmed VI's development in the same article they gave out more current gen V details for (release date, new features etc.) Definitely no coincidence.

 

• Lastly, both V & RDR2 were revealed & announced two years before their release and both in October. With VI looking at a potential 2024 release, an October 2022 reveal is likely.

 

Nothing is confirmed obviously but a reveal this month certainly makes sense based on all the reasons above.

The leak was mentioned on the local (regular nongaming) news here, and everyone I know IRL who's into gaming knows about it, even though they aren't even GTA fans.

Don't forgrt the T2 earnings call. Their current situation doesn't look very good to shareholders. They need to show them *something* that makes T2 worth it.

actually not, and dont forget about the zynga acquisition

looking at the stonks, they are almost the same as pre-covid (ignore the peaks during the pandemic)

plus its officially that rockstar is working on a new gta title, that tames the shareholders because they know "money-printing-machine 6" is on its way

 

i wouldnt focus too much on the earnings call, most likely we will hear from R* by the end of october (29th oct) .. if not, well, then i doubt we will hear from R* in 2022 at all

So some guy on Twitter (very unreliable) has posted 2 pages of the supposed leaked GTA VI PDF. Still won't link it tho in case it's real, but I am 99% sure it's fan-made. 

 

Edit: It's been like 14hrs since it was posted, and ttwo hasn't taken it down (yet), implying that it is, most likely, fake

 

By the looks of it, that PDF is more than 100 pages long

I agree, I'm just saying that there's a chance for a announcement next year, and if that's the case both the announcement and its release won't be further than june in 2023 and 2025 respectively, ain't no need for all that.

I only believe in other dates because of GTA 4 and RDR1, also after RDR2 lost the main game of the year award to GOW, even while being considered a better game by most of the ones who played both of them, maybe Rockstar wants to release the game earlier on its release year to give people enough time to know the game and its content better perhaps? See how we still discover new things about RDR2 to this day, 4 years later, the same don't happen with GOW, at least not on the same level.
