They actually did the same thing with GTA V. They addressed the development during an Asked and Answered article back in 2011. Granted, that was only a few weeks before the actual announcement of the game.

That 171 game looks great even though animation-wise still needs work, it still says alpha, I'll give it a try

nowhere near to what GTA VI will achieve but it looks like they did a good job with it as far as I saw.

But why is it only 17 gb? doesn't make much sense, is the map really small?

There will be no announcement this year for GTA 6. The game will probably be released in 2025, so the announcement will be in 2023, an announcement in 2022 is too predictable, September leaks have to be forgotten a bit. Rockstar wants to make a bomb with this announcement and for that it has to be unpredictable. They are the master of ceremonies.

2023 would be as predictable as 2022 so

 

The only thing I can see them doin is way till 2077 when no one actually expects anything, and then reveal the game

 

people are expecting something everyday, it's hard for R* to be unpredictable, I mean, just go back a few pages and see how many people have been spamming "TODAY"

So any of you may be right, it's not impossible, I can totally see GTA 6 releasing between march and june in 2025, no later than that though. Let's remember that GTA 4 released in april and RDR1 in may.

Too predictable for the month of October, 25 years of GTA, 20 years of Vice City .....During the year 2023 nothing will bring the community together with an announcement.

I dreamt that GTA VI trailer was released, and I'm happy it was a dream because the trailer was sh*te.

 

It'd be funny if, for the trailer, Rockstar intentionally only showed the places we've already seen in the leaks.

Yeah, could be, but a lot of investors would actually be furious. Like I can't really see the shareholders hold out for another year for an announcement, unless they are planning on announcing something in-between

 

 

And GTAO updates wouldn't really please investors all that much, after 9, almost 10 years of content

Investors know they'll get a lot of money by waiting a little longer, this game probably will stay for another 10-15 years being a cash cow after its release anyway.

So was October 22, 2021 all that different? Everybody knew they were going to release the trailer for GTA D.E. and they did.

I don't see why it's an unreasonable theory.... Unless you think Jason and Lucia are going to be starting a drug empire, which is possible...but seems unlikely

Remember the leaked video with the characters in the night club with what seems to be a manager or something for that club, they are definitely not just doing robberies and heists

At least we'd see the areas finished lol, I didn't watch the leaked videos for weeks now because I can't look at all those lines of codes on the screen and meaningless tests (from the players' perspective).

And you really think they are going to wait till the Fall of 2023 to announce a game they could've announced way back? Them announcing the game in Q4 2023 is much more unlikely than actually announcing it this Fall. But we'll see

From march to june, this game won't be released later than june 2025 anyway, so they may just announce it exactly 2 years before on the same month it'll be released eventually, just like RDR2 was released exactly 2 years and 10 days after it's first teaser.

And what better way is there to make people forget about the leaks other than dropping the damn trailer? A majority of people just want to see the game, and if there's a trailer for it, less of them are going to bother looking for the leaks.

 

Besides, this was probably the biggest leak in gaming history - no one's gonna be forgetting that any time soon.
