GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 7] - The one with the announcement

i don't mind the goofy GTA satire being in side missions like strangers and freaks or radio chatter, but i hope the main narrative is a much more serious drama like GTA 4

 

When Michael was revealed to be inspired by Neil Mccauley from HEAT, i expected him to be a cold, calculating, skilled, no nonsense expert criminal. I didn't expect him to be a rich whiney dude. Michael is still my favorite V proatgonist, but i kind of wish he was more like Neil and less like Tony Soprano.

both of these stories inspired gta vice city, being a mix of the two with a bit its own story.

Not quite. A lot of those (and i think that one) are early fan maps based on little to no evidence.

 

The current predicted map is based on in-game footage and coords, using the general shape of Florida as a base. There's still A LOT we don't know and the current predicted map will change a lot no doubt but it's not going to be absurdly off the mark given what they're working with (again, coords, Florda's shape, screens, etc).

 

The northern part of the map is a complete unknown as of today, we don't know how much is up there if anything, there could be a whole city up there for all we know. The southern area is largely unknown as well, but we do have a generally good idea of where VC, Gelhorn and the keys are.

with Dan Houser's words I remember people thinking the game will be "near" just cause 2 like map, slightly larger and better than what we got, I thought too, with a big forest area. There were a few fake leaked maps. That one came close in a way.

The European 18+ is essentially the same as the American M17+ rating. Rockstar got into trouble for both San Andreas (Hot Coffee crap) and Manhunt 2 when they were rated AO18+. Both of them had to be edited to be sold as M17+ games. Rockstar never deliberately wanted to make AO18+ games, as that's practically commercial suicide for console games.

I think the Netflix show Narcos might have inspired parts of the story of gta 6, it's first season aired only a year after gta 5's next gen release and the main character is a DEA agent from miami who gets sent to Colombia.

That's expected as retailers flat out refuse to sell AO rated games.

The show is Narcos: Mexico. The actor on the left is teresa ruiz playing the character "Isabella bautista" and the guy on the right is José María Yazpik playing Amado Carrillo Fuentes.

I can't remember if it was official but wasn't there a document or someone said that R* scouted not just Florida but some states up north?

 

Also, with how big the city seems to be right now. I think there will be a new military base somewhere but as of right now with the current map we have (I know it may not be 100% accurate) I think there's no space for a base with that current map. There's no way they would put it close to the city, so I'm thinking there has to be more map up north and maybe even south for space for something like that.

The leaked document listed multiple possible locations across all of the US I believe, but I can't remember any specifics.

The thing with those maps right now is there's A LOT of speculation still. Through coordinates and some minimap/screen stuff we have a very rough idea of where things might be, and then they've filled in the gaps with their own speculation to make something that resembles a map of a game set in Florida. There's a very good chance there's some huge things missing, that the scale isn't right and more.

Do you know if the scale of the maps from GTA IV and GTA V were different?
