GTA 6 takes place after V which means it can be presumed it takes place after the events of Cayo Perico, Doomsday Heist etc. etc.

 

That doesn't mean Rockstar can retcon the story a bit. To me, anything after the Diamond Casino Heist DLC could be considered canon since those DLCs are more "grounded" and less on the Saints Row levels of crazy.

 

Another idea is that online could be considered a whole different GTA universe in a similar way to how 3D and HD are different universes, so there'd be 3D, HD and Online universe.

I mean even if Cayo Perico/Rubio aren't in GTA VI I'm like 100% sure we're gonna hear references to him or the heist. There will certainly be references to GTA Online events or even memes that have come up over the years with its missions, features and the community.

Friday October 14 - Rockstar starts teasing gta 6 by posting a picture of their logo in miami colours

Tuesday October 18 - Rockstar officially anounces the game with a short trailer

I'm certain the game will originally be given a Q3 2023 release date but it will definitely be moved to fall of 2024.

I feel like GTA Youtubers are in in a slightly different category because a big section of the big ones outright trash talk Rockstar while continuously profit off their games, I can make an argument that their negative opinion of Rockstar in general is what's making them money, so it's your point but with this little aspect that is heavily enforced by Rockstar just not engaging with content creators a whole lot.

 

Edit: Lemme clarify, maybe not making money from the negativity directly, but maintaining an audience that want that kind of content. I've stopped watching a specific one of them because the immediate reaction they have to anything Rockstar does is negative, now I might be a "fanboy" but I know Rockstar makes terrible decisions and god knows I whined about some of them in here multiple times, but this specific person goes to certain weird lengths and preforms some wild mental gymnastics to somehow spin around anything Rockstar does to make it look negative to an audience that is anticipating that kind of negativity.

Yea, you're not wrong. They don't have ties to R* so have little to nothing to lose, where as other online games will often use them for promotions be it Twitch drop stuff, early access, previews, etc.

It's designed for the Heist, there's not much there aside from El Rubio's mansion.

Ive always found the whole "every interior should be enterable" stance really weird. Public interiors sure, but every interior? Why, what does it add to the game? 90% of them would have nothing to do except look at interior design which would get boring after a while. That assuming they dont just make it so interiors are auto generated which they probably would be. So basically it would be a feature that would increase development time to a ridiculous degree, and generally bloat out the game, only for a minority of players to enjoy for a short while, not to mention its not realistic in anyway.
