That doesn’t mean anything. Just PR talk for GTA V E&E. They never made the details of that contract public.

 

Unless they say they are partnering again for GTA VI. Anything is on the table.

Well, having Sony announcing that they’ve partnered once again with Rockstar only for a porting, sounds a little weird, especially I because that was the first announcement for that conference. I’m sure they’ve renewed their partnership for future titles as well.

Either Microsoft or Sony will be partnering with Rockstar Games for GTA VI anyway. It should be similar to RDR2, like bonus content and some extra stuff.

Honestly, it doesn’t sound like a PR move. They’ve already been partnering with Rockstar for many years now and I don’t see why they shouldn’t continue this partnership in the future.

Again, it would be weird after they literally made that announcement during the reveal of their next generation console. Sounded like a big deal imo.

I disagree. Wether you like it or not (I personally hate GTA Online) GTA Online 2 or whatever they call it will likely be very popular and successful.

Making a Exclusive deal with Sony would be dumb move, because of the less money rockstar games would make with over time with the next gta online

GTAO2 will be a success not at the beginning but sometime in the future because the time they decide to shut down the first one will come and then everybody will be forced to carry over their progress to GTAO2

I don’t think they’ll shut it down. Strauss Zelnick has said that he supports keeping two versions up. That’s what they’ve been doing in China with NBA 2K online and NBA 2K online 2

There is a reason why they put gta5 on ps5/xsx, gtao will still exist with(or even in?) Gta 6

GTA Online being free for 3 months was pretty big. And as Jim said, they'll continue their partnership.

 

I'm sure Sony realizes now more than ever the importance of GTA after losing COD, GTA O is probably on the top 3 of psn store mtx revenue (alongside Fortnite & COD).

 

They did it for RDR2, GTAO & they'll do it again for VI.

I believe it will be packed with content at launch, some kind of reskin of all current GTA O businesses maybe? Hundreds of cars at launch? Can't wait to get more info on how they'll manage it. Because GTA V still manages to look amazing somehow, they need to give players a good reason to give up on their characters and start over (carrying over our progress doesn't make sense in my opinion?).

I don't care what they do with Online, as long as sh*t like Oppressors, flying DeLoreans, orbital cannons and similar bs isn't canon in the single-player story of 6.

but it is already canon

 

GTA 6 takes place after V which means it can be presumed it takes place after the events of Cayo Perico, Doomsday Heist etc. etc.

I appreciate the amazing effort put into the videos on that channel but I can't help but chuckle at the fact that one of them complained about GTAV being "milked" for years when most of the videos on that channel are kinda doing the same thing.

 

No judgment though, gotta make that bread.

My friend you've just discovered the great truth about Rockstar Games content creators. The vast majority of their growth comes from creating a lot of videos bitching and whining about Big Bad Rockstar. It's easy money.

I'd be very surprised if R* don't have a marketing deal with Sony for VI.

I hope GTAO2 will be failure so they can't abonded SP.  

They will probably make the online more grindy than V so people might not like it. My only reason was to play V Online because I got modded accounts on PS3 and I was griefing lol. It doesn't makes sense for me to grind in game for hours for a car that I can spawn in PC with a trainer. They need to keep the game fun if they want success imo.
