hopefully one day rockstar have enough employees to work on 2 games at once and get the game out in 4-5 years. I think that’s why they’ve been hiring more than ever

That would be great, but it's more likely they'll just use everyone to work on a single game and make it even bigger and better instead of releasing it faster, or releasing more games

I think rockstar know releasing games every 10 years isn’t the way to go. I think eventually they will go back to developing 2 games at once. Jeez, who knows if they will even create a new IP..

Man next year is gonna be a slaughter for GTA 5 radio stations they are going to remove so many songs. They already removed one song in December 2021 update they need to buy lifetime rights for the songs in GTA 6 because I can’t even play GTA 4 due to the fact my favorites song was removed.

They do, but it's their philosophy to throw everything they've got at one project so it can be the best they want it to be.

Technology that can help develop games faster will undoubtebly be used to make bigger and better games and not games that take less time to develop.

 

At least in the AAA industry, anywho. Standards are constantly going up and that's driven by demand from gamers, we'd get pretty miffed pretty quickly if technology came about to create quality assets/code/whatever quicker and it was used to create games on the scale we've already seen before.

 

We may see quicker turn arounds in the indie and AA scene with such technology but even then... I doubt it tbh, such a technology would probably be a case of raising the standards across the board.

Maybe it’s based on market shares, market research done on gaming as a whole rather than gta v specifically. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think this is why so many developers are working with Unreal Engine to build their game worlds, seems to be specifically designed to make it easier to create games. 
No doubt R* are spending a fortune to update Rage through the years (so easy to see the differences between their game releases).

They've sorta put them selves into a corner really.

 

R* games are now industry events for developers, the press and gamers alike, they're also technological masterpieces, massively influential and more. Gamers expect a developers next game to be greater and grander then their last game, so what we expect of R* has just gone up and up and up and up.

 

Basically, R* have put them selves into a situation where every game now has to bigger and better than the last one. Even if they added, I don't know, a thousand new developers to create a side project that side project would instantly have absolutely massive expectations even if the game was intented to be smaller in scale and scope than a GTA/RDR.

 

It's a situation that's gotten them an absolute sh*t ton of success, it has to be said, but one that's no doubt made it difficult to get side projects off the ground, which we've seen given all the reports of canned side projects.

They guess. Ideally it'll be an educated guess based on public sales figures, the usual split between Xbox/PS, etc. It'd be a pretty fair guess to presume PS has the most GTA V players, then Xbox, then PC, cause console is where GTA is tradiitonally so dominant. That being said for new multi platform games the PC sales often trade blows with Xbox in terms of numbers with PS on top, however there are games where PC dominates them both.

I think the main driving force behind the large amount of developments switching to UE is resource related tbh. Modern engines are incredibly expensive to develop and maintain and we've seen a whole bunch of games come up with technical issues as they couldn't get on top of the engine, with some of those developers (CDPR in particular) switching to UE5 going forward. So even though the technology consolidation sucks, it is understandable that these studios are now removing the bulk of the weight of the engine development from their teams so they can focus on just making the games.

 

R* however do have the resources to develop an in-house engine and it suits them to do so. Unreal Engine has come a long, long way since even the days of UE3/4 in terms of what it can do, scale, versatility, but a bespoke engine made to your exact needs would still, you'd think, trump it. Just not everyone can develop and maintain that bespoke engine.

Can someone mention some new missions and heists that we didn't do it in V and IV?!

 

And I hope we can complete missions without alerting enemy with a silencer...I always wanted this but C* doesn't like this idea!(they tried this with Cayo Percio but it wasn't satisfying IMO, maybe because of AI)

RDO made me worried.

I worry for the creator. if GTAO2 has a constantly morphing map similar to something like fortnite then player made content might not work.

Ubisoft is THAT big? I actually thought they were as big as Rockstar maybe a liiiiiitle bigger.
