Então, onde está essa atualização da Rockstar que eles nos disseram que chegaria em breve na semana passada? ...

look, you must already know what Rockstar is like, they are very difficult to communicate with the fans so it is difficult to know when they will update us, but don't confuse it with an announcement because in the message it says that they will update us soon about the hack/leak and not about the game ad.

As the codename suggests, the game was planned to feature Vice City and one major city or more from South America. But that has since been dialed back to reduce crunch as per Jason's Bloomberg report.

Vi was in full development prior to RDR2's release, but it was rebooted around the time RDR2 released. Rockstar submitted a patent and one of its inventors didn't join Rockstar Games until 2019. Since then, Rockstar recruited more Animation R&D team developers than usual. Most specified in Machine Learning techniques. And the leaked development footage showcases the Animation / Locomotion team efforts featuring their demos of "features".

While the crunch concerns were surely part of the reasons behind the "reboot", Rockstar probably required new Animation tech as well. So the reboot happened due to a multitude of reasons that all worked in favor of Rockstar.

so basically this reboot wasnt because development got problems? because I dont think they would spend all this time and start from zero without a good reason

I’m assuming by reboot you mean a bit of a redirection?

Narrowing down the scope for better employee welfare, integrating new technology.

These are things that probably happen during the production of every Rockstar title? Maps have been reduced in every game. The concept map for GTA IV was huge.

Reboot is a scary word for what I think is probably quite normal for them over the course of a Rockstar titles development? Rewrite, recode and refine.

I hope it doesnt means the reboot that we are thinking

Well. They’d have started with a base GTA V look I’d imagine. Reusing assets already made. So even in early stages it wouldn’t look bad.

But the footage in the leaks isn’t quite RDRII quality, at least in my opinion. I think this is where the worry stems from. But by the time they’re done it will look fantastic.

Yeah, most of RDR2's assets would not fit into GTA's setting anyway, so realistically using V's assets in RDR2's engine as a base makes sense in pre-alpha builds. I'm sure they've already made a large number of improvements to the engine as well, as seen in V's current-gen ports. The game looks noticeably better than V in many scenarios.

Also, RDR2 once looked like this in production-DOdWKfADP_vYdHb-pzoqAfD-RU8DUwFFro6WJXv3

The artist, Matt Clyne, from whose portfolio the screenshot was found, left Rockstar in July, 2015, although it was first discovered in 2016. So 3-4 years before launch, RDR2 looked worse (unfinished) than V or MP3 in terms of asset quality, models, lighting, etc., even though it was definitely running on V's engine. And, we already have at the very least a couple of years to go before VI finally comes out. So I don't think we have any reason to worry about graphics.

The top image uses GTA V's clouds, doesn't have volumetric ones we see in the final game yet.

Idk GTA VI leaked footage looked way too nice despite low textures (low graphics), it can be even better than that lol?

Yeah, it was definitely running on V's engine and using its assets, as I said.

I wish people could get this through their head. To me the club scene already looks amazing and I loved the ambience of the night. Imagine how it's going to look when it's done.

I know I can't be alone in wanting/wishing/hoping/dreaming of a remaster of GTA IV so I don't have to deal with the constant flicker effect of all the textures/lights and stuff (I still haven't come across a fix for it/pretty sure there is no fix) blah

To tie this into GTA VI what if it released alongside GTA VI in a few years. Doubtful

I think we're going back to Liberty City for GTAVII, so a GTAIV remaster could be possible (as long as GSG doesn't do it) to gauge people's interesting in LC.

It'll be interesting to see how much different the first trailer looks compared to the leaked footage. Like any trailer, it'll very much be a controlled presentation, so I'd expect it to look as good as RDR2, if not better.

Remember how bad the GTAV Trailer 1 ended up looking compared to the actual game? Imagine the leap from the leaked footage to the first trailer, and then realizing it's gonna look even better when it comes out.

If we went back to Liberty City in 7 that would be incredible but at the same time though I'm not too sure. I kind of want them to do a new map next time around. Way back, I didn't think they'd actually remaster 3/vc/sa until they did so you never know. Definitely they need to contract someone else for the job. What we got recently is... you know.

Ok back on topic with VI sorry had to get that off muh chest

I almost look forward to the experience of the announcement, trailers, screenshots, panels with the VAs more than I do the actual game.
