Shame they are pretty rare, especially storms. The other day I encountered thick fog for the first time since I've started playing in 2020, and I have over 800 hours, so it's pretty weird.

One thing I hope they do way better is the snow. The snow in GTAO during Christmas is pretty bad, not even that nice to look at tbh. It's just white coating. IDK if it snows in Miami though.

It can snow in the online mode but not in the story mode like with GTA V. Florida does get snow from google images but very rarely in some places, doubt in Miami?

They can just ignore most of that stuff and nobody will bat an eye. Some references here and there, and that's it. Every mainline GTA has mostly been a self-contained experience, and I don't see VI being any different.

Watch out! Some folks here genuinely think that GTAV's PS4/XOne/PC ports are GSG tier :prismkek:

The problem with the PS4/XOne/PC ports isn't the graphical quality, it's the butchering of the atmosphere that made the PS3/360 versions seem magical.

I mean you could travel back in time and take a photo of the woman in the Mona Lisa. But just because it's HD doesn't mean it actually looks better than Da Vinci's portrait.

GTA Online is a movie produced by Michael DeSanta. Simple :kekw:

I just don't think they're anywhere near different enough to either radically change or ruin whatever atmosphere the PS3/360 version had, whether it's the colour grading, or motion blur, or visual effects, or whatever. It's about as good of a remaster as you're gonna get, with significant upgrades that actually enhance the game. Mona Lisa has nothing to do with it.

Anyone else think the game should be like Watch dogs 2? It’s a good game that doesn’t focus too much on unnecessary details and has good graphics & gameplay. GTA should stop trying to impress with small details that no one cares about.

I think the small details are what distinguish these games (and some others, like TLOU for example) from all the other stuff out there and make them great. I get a kick out of the idea that maybe there's one guy who's job it is to get the dumpsters as realistic as possible. Like maybe that's his only job. Cranking the unnecessary details to 11 is one of my favorite things about Rockstar games.

I'd rather not play a soulless and cringeworthy title, so no.

"Unnecessary details" are part of what separate Rockstar from the pack.

If you mean realism details, Watch Dogs 2 has details too just as many. For example we are speaking about "immersion" right? These games are set in an open world with a city, don't you want it to feel alive? Or you only play the Online mode (which is mostly gameplay) and don't care about being immersed in a story and its world better?

They are demanded by the majority of people nowadays,  haven't you noticed how people complain about something that isn't AS good as some other title, just check on youtube how many comparisons exist of RDR2 with other games, or the reviews everywhere. When people see something closer to realism, they prefer it.

They think it is better, I think too because they are aiming to be like that just from the graphics. So they need details. Not all games though, those that are let's say going for a more cartoony/artistic look, don't exactly need that.

Art is also like that, more people want realistic art (could be with unique style) instead of all the other ones, I am talking about the majority, also what the eye will catch first.

Nope.

Literally what kept me playing GTAV/O (aside from the fun gameplay) is the little details...

The way the walking animation is, how heavy the character you control feels.

The outfits, the general customisation of the characters, making them more your own.

For example, you can access your bank account from the phone, but I'll be damned If I don't go all the way to an ATM and deposit my money that way.

Being able to interact with random things in your apartment, nightclub, ceo office, etc. (I've still to buy an yacht).

GTAO is more than just a sandbox stage, it's more of an immersive world. At least for its time.

I fully expect GTA6 to have tons of more immersive things to do. Like go to a restaurant and have a meal, go to a bar and have a drink. Go to a gym and train, play tennis, bowling, basketball, pool, darts and so on and on. Not instanced mind you, but fully accessible with the open world section of the game, devoid of loading screens.

Can you imagine in the future, putting on a VR helmet and doing everything you can irl, but inside a GTA game? Sure, GTA6 most likely won't be that, but that future is getting close. Instead of having dumb buzzwords like the metaverse and being shown an open world with PS2 graphics, you'll have actual, real games that are just as connected to reality as anything else.

The unnecessary details adds to the experience and quality of the game, specially when exploring in free roam which is the reason why a lot of people like open world games.

Games like TLOU and Uncharted also benefits from the details, these game make you feel like you're in a movie. What would they be without the many details that make them more realistic?

A bit conflicted about VR, I don't really trust the technology of the future. Getting THAT deep in a fictional world doesn't sound right to me, people will forget real life exists, it should come with a timer or something that tells you to stop idk. It could be used for games like GTA maybe and other more real life training stuff such as military training and other dangerous things you can't do in real life, currently that headset is fine I guess as long as you don't go too far with it, but when I hear stuff that in the future they will implant something in your brain to do that..:jkek:

Glad I'm on this timeline and not the future, I feel like something will go wrong there :wtfmichael:

Ever considered getting chased by oppressors on VR though :kekw:

I mean, I just mentioned it because of how crazy of an experience that would be. But personally I do like playing my games with a controller tbh. For now...

Either way, I love the immersion that R* is adding to their games. I still haven't played RDR2 but from what I've seen it's way deeper than GTAV.

It’s just you who don’t care those small details. But if you are 7 year old child, seems like “yes”, or arcade mechanics lover and just care graphics then you have a point.

I f*cking love small details, i tend to avoid 100% guides and just play the game periodically for fun, even months after i finished the main story and this often results in my stumbling upon a random event that i hadn't previously seen, i'll be doing the same with VI.

Even if you 100% there's still so many other things you won't see

I've seen many people who've completed RDR2 multiple times and still comment on videos about random events that they've never seen before. It's one of the biggest things I look forward to, nobody does things like random events and NPC dialogue quite like R* do

One thing I lowkey hope to see again in GTA 6 are weapon parodies, you know, guns that look similar to the real thing, but ain't exactly like it, lot's of people don't like it but I appreciate it

I think R* labeling the leaks as "early development footage" is a good sign. They also referred to GTA VI's development being "well underway" via the Newswire back in February so I believe an announcement can't be too far away. The good thing about their announcements is that they usually follow up with a trailer shortly after, so we'll have a lot to dig into.
