Honestly if R* were to set a new GTA game in a specific period, doing Miami in the 80's again would just be retreading old ground. Cycling through the same 3 cities from the 3D era is already kind of pushing it, but doing a different era is one way to keep it fresh. In a way, I see this as giving a different lens to a pre-existing area, with far less of the glamour and romanticizing you get when basing it on some classic media, instead focusing on what it's like more in real life. A place past its prime, but still with a seedy underbelly that's surfacing more and more with less of the pink and blue neon to hide it. Seems more in line with modern R* tonally.

Unfortunately no one will take the date on the first trailer seriously, so there is no point to include it.

Inb4 people still take the first release date seriously lol

Hi all,

I don't understand why some people so concerned about GTAVI graphics. For me, it least concerning aspect of the game. RDR2 graphics is fine even for today. More important are story, lore, characters, gameplay, living breathing open world. Otherwise, I am disappointment with modern setting. 80's was so cool, Rockstar had plenty references from Miami Vice.

Interesting fact about Jan Hammer, he was born in Czech Republic so basically people from that country made one of the most legendary themes and legendary video game (Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven).

GTAIV is the best GTA of the HD era and it was set in its modern time, I don't see why GTA6 can't top that with the same setting

GTA V Reveal trailer was 2011, gameplay trailer in 2013.

RDR2 reveal trailer was 2016, gameplay trailer in 2018.

That said I am kinda glad R* releases gameplay trailers closer to release, meaning the game is nearly finished and should have 98-100% of the features and gameplay shown.

By the way I hope they added Gianni Versace's house in Vice City, it would be really cool

And this is why R* never included a date with the first GTA V trailer :kekw: Or platforms. Which sent everyone into a frenzy.

It was just a SFM short movie they were in the mood of making :)

I hope they don't pull the ''let's make them unable to travel to the area necessary for challenges to be completed'', I'm giving you the stink eye, Rockstar. I haven't forgotten about Arthur in New Austin being shown in the Gameplay videos.

Let's be honest, they revealed GTA V way too early. Hopefully one day they will stop being so obsessed with last two weeks of October, there is really nothing more predictable than R* revealing their game in the second half of October if they have something to show in that specific year.

The reason they have this weird schedule is probably because it aligns with the fiscal year and stuff that investors do and like

imo a release year and plattforms would be the maximum we could get with first trailer, leaving us in the dark would suck :cringekek:

last years november earnings conference call by taketwo was on the first wednesday of november, in 2020 it was the first thursday of november

so maybe we can expect this years november conference call to take place on either 2nd nov (wednesday) or 3rd nov (thursday) ... an announcement on/around grandtheftauto/vice city anniversary would fit for this schedule

Well I'm pretty sure Take Two said they're expecting massive profits during the 2023 fiscal year - Which points to VI being released in 2024, which would also point to the game being announced in 2022 if we're going by the pattern of them releasing games 2 years after announcing them. Not to mention them acknowledging them game twice (3 times if you want to include the twitter statement) already this year - I'd say October is a good shout (Vice city 20th anniversary as well) but ultimately we just don't know, the leaks could have changed things.

fiscal year 2023 ends in march 2023, i doubt we will see a gta6 by this time :kekw:

(maybe you mean fiscal year 2024? but a release until march 2024 is also highly unlikely imo)

Interestingly enough, GTAV's first trailer released Nov. 2 (of 2011)

Sadly companies can make those profits way too easily nowadays, there is no incentive to push industry forward. Those kids with their mom's credit card literally ruined AAA game dev.

Allegedly, they have spent 2B dollars on VI since 2014. How? Just, f*cking how? No way in hell that's possible.

The $2b is allocated. It is money reserved both for development, launch, and post-launch content (aka DLCs and such). Still an insane amount of money, but you have to understand they will make back all that money in less than a year :D

They have allocated 2B dollars for development and post launch updates. Like I said, truly best technology and specialists are not cheap. Not to even mention that even Rockstar employees have been underpaid for many years, they were working more hours than they were paid for. It's a problem of the entire industry.

2 billion allocated for a goddamn video game and some 16 year old " hack " or " social engineer " their way in to the heart of the company. Something is seriously off.
