Addiotionally, many of the clips weren't just captured on a PC, but apparently on a PC build. A lot of them have a warning about exceeing VRAM and to lower graphics settings. And that's actual game UI looking stuff, not just debug stuff. You wouldn't need that for a console because, you know, there's only a set number of graphics options.

I don't know the specs of the console dev kits but console dev kits can literally be just be PC hardware that's close to console. That said, the consoles are AMD and we're seeing dev videos recorded on machines with nVidia cards in them, so yea, it's a good sign we'll get PC day 1.

C'mon guys, just let me dream of a day one release on PC!

 I WANT TO BELIEVE!

I'll give one reason to believe in a day one PC release: Larger player base means more people to spend money on Shark Cards

What lol? Piracy is still a huge issue.

The main driving force of piracy was the lack of game availabily be it a lack of regional pricing or just the lack of ability to purchase a game in your region. Piracy is predominately a service issue, in all entertainment media.

Steam was MASSIVE in the reduction of piracy for example.

It's still an "issue", but in 2022 it's absolutely not a reason to delay a PC version in any shape or form.

Piracy hasn't been an issue for over a decade now. Piracy is very rarely about the money, but about convenience. It's even less of a problem for games with a significant multiplayer component. With the prevalence of digital storefronts, piracy has become a non issue and is basically only trotted out by console fanboys or execs that don't know what they're talking about.

You realize that games are always developed on PC hardware and then converted to consoles, right? ... but in the case of PS5 and XSX their architecture is very similar to PC's anyways so I guess the hustle of "porting" or getting the code to work on the consoles is a lot less than it was with the PS3/360 generation of consoles. This in no way does indicate that we will see a day one PC release.

I can't wait to post the screenshot from the trailer that says "Coming to Playstation 5 and XBS 2024" and laugh. Y'all are just like the people who were coping about the game being in the 80s.

PC's aren't always the lead development platform, though. Consoles run AMD hardware top to bottom so developing the game on nVidia hardware wouldn't make much sense if it was never come to PC or whatever.

Meaningless conversation though really, we know it'll get a PC version the question if it's going to be day 1 or not. There's a lot of reasons why day 1 is likely even before the leaks.

IF that happens then I'll give you the right to do that. Until then you may cope all you want.

I'm just telling you my realistic take on this.

GTA VI release on PS5, XSX - Fall 2024 or Spring 2025

GTA VI release on PC AND GTA Online 2.0 launch - Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 (depending on GTA VI's final release)

You're just imposing your opinion based on A DECADE old modus operandi 🤷‍♂️
RDR2 was delayed on PC because of the mess it was and still was after launch, not to mention RDR2 released at the time when Rockstar was still working on their launcher which was failing left and right.

Oh believe me everyone is getting quoted when it happens. And I'm not the one coping lol, it's never been a day 1 PC release and GTAVI won't be any different. All I see is a bunch of people who don't want to purchase a console and are gonna be waiting a year to play the game they waited 11 years for.

You sound like the mfs that were convinced RDR2 would never make to PC because "RDR1 was never released to PC I don't see why RDR2 should"

Tbh as long as PC release isn’t more than 2 months after console release I’m fine with it. Avoiding story spoilers is gonna be very difficult though

Poor availability of the new consoles could be a reason as well. If they're not doing PS4 and X1 (which they hopefully aren't) and they wanna get anywhere near those record breaking numbers of the release day/week/month of V, they're gonna want to expand their market. I mean, when V released, there were over 80 million 360s and over 80 million PS3s sold. Right now, PS5 is just above 20 million and Xbox sold about 12 million consoles. Like, even if each of them sell another 20 million, that's nowhere close to 360 and PS3. They wanna break records again, they need to cast a wider net.

PC and Console also aren't seen as competitors as much these days. Xbox releases all games simultaneous, Sony is slowly porting their catalogue over as well.

But hey, if it's not announced for PC, put me down for a PS5. Unless they're still like 800€ then, maybe I'll just stick to my Series S then.

I will buy all these copers something from the R* Warehouse if it comes out on PC same day as console.

LMAO Not even remotely the same thing. You're talking about braindead people who didn't think a modern R* game would come to PC vs. a R* game coming to PC same day as console which has never happened.

I don't buy a console for Sony's exclusives, imagine for Rockstar that actually releases their games on PC :kekw:

How much voice acting do you guys think rockstar has done for this game

similar to RDR2, still work in progress. "RDR 2 has 300000 animations, 500000 lines of dialogue"

probably even more lol?

Devkits are usually same hardware as retail consoles + extra RAM and storage. Not ALL devkits feature extra RAM tho. PS3/X360 later devkits had 1GB of RAM (R* switched to those mid-development for GTA 5), PS4 had 8GB and 16GB devkit variants, One X had 24GB. For current gen consoles tho, PS5 has 32GB RAM and XSX has a whopping 40 gigs.

They need that much RAM since unstripped builds with debugging features have a lot of memory overhead which gets even worse at the earlier development stages when there's very little to no memory budgeting implemented.

True that. Honestly I was in shock seeing how big the map seems to be, especially after Jason Schreirer's reports about it being 'moderately sized'
