GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 7] - The one with the announcement

Can someone update me about what I missed in the last 6/7 hours? Or nothing happened?

We obviously glimpsed more than we were allowed to, especially at this point. But, these leaked snippets were from developer environments, so it's not exactly a surprise to not see the latest and greatest models, textures, and whatnot being rendered. I think it's naive to attest the state of mind at this stage just because we see them utilising items from old titles or conducting obvious testing. I generally somehow doubt that the leak forces R* to overthink the game or even overhauling its entire scope. Yes, we've seen features and locations that allow assumptions on gameplay, story, and atmosphere. Ideally, this would've been up to teasers and trailers. I imagine there's some extra effort now to enhance security and code protection, but for what it's worth, I don't see that the game experience itself will suffer considerably from what we've seen. We knew barely anything two days ago, and now we happen to know just more than nothing. The vast majority of this game's content will remain a surprise to all of us upon release—and we can all be very happy about it. Unless yesterday repeats…

 

It's the right thing to bring down any material being illegally obtained and shared—despite all the frustration of the community's long wait, it won't ever justify it. Nonetheless, I have to say it was quite a ride being part of the mapping thread yesterday. I'm really impressed of what we've managed to piece together in just a few hours of leaks consumption. If allowed, I'm happy to contribute to any mapping concept with the coordinates grid I've put together. By then, I'm really looking forward to official announcements to look into—whenever that will be. I'm more than curious when and what sort of communication we're going to witness next. Hopefully an official one…

One mystery I'd love GTA VI address is what happened to Donald Love. I'd love there to be some game-spanning mystery where the player could potentially find his body. Especially if it's not an official mission, and is something you can piece together from in-game lore completely unprompted. I just want a really big secret with some actual payoff.

 

Doubly so, because Donald Love was my favourite character in GTA III, and I always liked how ominous his disappearance felt.

The rules have always been a bit flexible in that regard. Donald Love has been referenced before in the HD era, as have some other older characters. So what's the harm? Especially as it will please long time fans of the series?

GTA VI got leaked, there is like 90 videos (a total of an hour of footage) of an early build of the game.

Well because his disapearance is part of the plot of GTA III, and the events of GTA III never took place in the HD universe.

I think GTAV's map was mapped almost entirely trough the tiny radar images. By the time it released we already knew what San Andreas was going to look like IIRC

Well then that wouldn't make sense, how can you explain what happened to a character by showing what an alternate version of him did?
