There's a clip where Jason is walking around and the screen goes kind of grey and the special ability sound plays. But he doesn't really do anything in the clip.

Things that got me hyped:

- The crawling, crouching, carrying mechanics

- Restaurant interiors

- The fanboat thingy

- Ability to carry gun on back

- Duffel bag in the weapon wheel?

- Animation for picking up guns from ground and it seems optional?!

- The female character design

 

Things that got me not so hyped:

- The male character design

- Didn't see any male strippers???

In the leaked footage, it seemed that Jason had something similar to the eagle eye from RDR2

If you look at the original video and go frame by frame, there is a single frame where the car gets teleported back to the road and if you observe the hood of the car  you can see that it looked to be uniquely warped in accordance to the impact, the left side of the hood was damaged the most and crumpled over to the right.

I did see that but I read it was just something for robberies. Like it would highlight items of value if you get what I mean. At least that’s what I got from it.

So, I have no idea if this was ever discussed today, because I spent all afternoon trying to catch up on the main thread and made it to about page 130 or so before it was taken down, and I NEVER got to the mapping thread - which I regret waiting on, I should have hit it first. Apologies if it was already discussed and I missed it. Anyway, we obviously know that at least a portion of the game is now confirmed to be in Vice City, which we practically already knew anyway, but nice to have that confirmation. But I noticed in at least one of two videos that there are clearly mountains in the background. In the "main" video with the restaurant, it at least appears there is a mountain off in the distance to the left after Lucia goes outside. I will contend that MAYBE it's not a mountain but rather a row of buildings, as it's so far off in the distance it's hard to make out. 

 

But in the video where she is outside a gas station, there is a steep hill to the right, and you can very clearly see at least a couple mountains in the background beyond the hill. Of the two videos, this one seems pretty definite to me. I'm curious if anyone has any theories or ideas about that, because it seems pretty certain that we are seeing mountains, and we all know that mountains do not exist in South Florida. The only visible road sign in this video says "Route 2 North" and includes two town/location names. The first is hard to make out, but appears to be a word starting with a "B" and Bridge. The second name I am almost certain is "Yorktown".  

 

Personally, the area in this second video feels a lot like Georgia to me, which I've been through more times than I can count. But the closest mountains to Florida are in the very northernmost third of Georgia, north of Atlanta. I know there have been rumors about going to Cuba as well, which does admittedly have a lot of mountains, but I'm not sure any area of Cuba looks even remotely like this, and the street signs would seem to rule that out anyway. 

 

I just wondered if anyone had thoughts about the potential area within either of those videos, but especially the one with the gas station, because I feel like that will give us at least one other area we can expect outside the South Florida region.

This might piss some people off but it looks like there's limited carrying capacity. A lot of clips with weapons have them holding a weapon and then one on their back, and there's one where Lucia has a duffle bag on her back that might be a way to expand your capacity.

The gas station looks like a Quicktrip gas station which are popular in Georgia

I'm really excited about the greet/antagonize options. RDR2 had some hilarious roasts, I can only imagine the dialogue we're getting in modern Florida.

It could be possible that those locations were cut. Jason did say it focuses more on Miami and Florida.

There was this one guy here who is now banned that said that if Rockstar set GTA VI in Vice City and in modern times, it would be a catastrophic decision and that it would ruin the game. He said he wanted the game to be set in Chicago in the 1970s and that the story should be about the mafia. He said Vice City was a terrible location because it’s flat and it’s a copy of Los Santos and that it’s boring and empty. He also said that if the game takes place in modern time, it would be filled with cringy dialogue and humor and that the game would make you use your phone all the time. He kept harassing people when they disagreed and he acted like his opinions were facts. Really charming guy…

I don't think so, maybe a secondary location in Cuba or whatever got cut, but not this one.

This was actually one of my wishes for a Red Dead 2 thing to carry over into VI, i'd like a more grounded and gritty experiences instead of the bombastic stuff we got in V (unpopular opinion though, i know).
