Before any of you says this is in "early development" I want you to go and look at the leaked videos, some of them are definitely not from an early build.

The world is too detailed to be early-dev, mechanics are all in and clearly need to be polished, vehicles seem to be at a good state as from the videos there's a good variety of them (plus GTAV's reworked vehicles), the only thing that is lacking is NPCs but those can be stored in a different build just like any other detail that isn't in the leaked footage. 
"Early development" would mean they've been working on it for at least 2 years which is not enough to build a map so detailed. YES the map is detailed, look at the textures and over all props around the city AND inside the restaurants, etc.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE LIGHTING, this is a process that is often skipped during testing because it's not necessary to test features and mechanics that don't involve light.

Judging by the nature of this leak (security breach), any planned released period is probably in limbo right now. Who knows what happens from here.

In many cases from what I seen maybe not R* but when a big leak like that happens the company just say F it and drop a trailer ..I truly believe R* will do it cause the secret is already out

Yeah, initially I was thrilled by all this stuff, but now that I think of it, it's really bad for the company and also for us too. I think the game will be indefinitely delayed.

I was sure that this leak was directly from rockstar games to build some hype, but now code is leaked too, so it's most likely they got hacked.

Or some ex employee leaked this stuff, we can only speculate for now

This is also what I'm worried about. It's one thing for debug / dev videos to release (quite massive for any studio, but unheard of for Rockstar) but the source code supposedly leaking is where it gets dicey.

theres slight differences in the protags throughout the clips so it looks like the weight system is coming back

Jason looks rather slim some places and more filled out/chiseled others and Lucia can be seen wearing makeup in one clip

 

Modern day confirmed but im still holding out for them flashbacks!

The game code got leaked. I can't imagine a worse case scenario than this. We'll see how it goes, but I feel quite pessimistic about this.

 

And by long time, I mean a really long time. 2 years would've been the minimum, if everything went well and Rockstar announced the game this year. Now that the game code got leaked, it's a little hard to imagine that Rockstar is gonna fix everything in a couple of days and then proceeding with the initial plans that they had.

did the guy actually leak the game code or did he just say he had it and show snippets? i keep seeing people say the source codes out there but IS IT?
