Relax, Jesus, it's just a supposition, I also agree the best setting is in the present.

This argument is more tired, than some people say 80s are. Rockstar that I know would do anything they find interesting. Go to hell with it if they ever become another Ubisoft.

This. The last few big updates have been more "grounded" and with The Contract we saw what happened to Franklin after GTA V's story. Honestly, since Franklin is the only character that canonically cannot die in GTA V, and he's the only one so far that has an entire update based around his business after GTA V SP, I feel like we are going to see him in GTA VI again.

Either way, even if we don't see Franklin, I think we're definitely gonna be seeing one of the GTA V protagonists in GTA VI in some way.

As much as I would like to see GTA V protagonists make an appearance in GTA VI (i f*ck with all 3 of them heavy Michael, Trevor, Franklin). I just feel its not going to happen and new characters will be introduced. they’ve spent a lot of time on GTA VI im hoping the new protagonists are dope af & potentially can become my new fav characters. The most i feel rockstar would do is have some kind of easter egg or some random reference made in the dialogue for a cutscene to speak on a previous protagonist.

I think we wont see mike franklin or trevor at all in gta6 singleplayer, maybe just a very short mention or one short cutscene

But im sure we will see atleast one of them (most likely trevor) in gtaonline(2)

His name doesn't appear in V or IV's credits. But this stuff is pretty old, both were in 2017. It's not impossible he's done some artwork for VI but I'm gonna guess what he did was for GTAO.

Edit: Exploring his socials, he IS from Orlando. So maybe R* tapped into some local artists.

Here's another page I found where Rockstar is being mentioned as a client. Couldn't find their name in GTA IV or V credits.
Any clue?

Nothing on wayback machine to date it. But it seems like they mostly do stuff in real life with murals. R* does sponsor events and stuff so this could just be something to do with an event they hosted or even murals for their office(s).

The first and oldest photo of the page's instagram dates from 2011, while the page itself says it's from 2020.

If it was something in the past like for Online, would imagine he would showcase it in his site like he does with all the other gaming companies he has worked for

because every GTA is a reboot/remix of it's predecessor with a brand new story , plot , protagonist , characters etc but with same lore and in same world/universe they make it look like it's connected but they avoid making the titles look like sequels / prequels which is why every other protagonist is already considered dead by R*, ''There's no second time'' - Sam Houser to Ray Liotta

And that's how it should be in GTA. Sometimes people act like R* nowadays is incapable of writing great stories so they have to use that cheap gimmick called bringing back old protagonists.

He's missing a lot of other stuff he's done from his portfolio besides R* games. It's times like these where the GTA:O credits would clear a lot of things up.

Really hope we have a gang in GTA 6. Or a cartel. What. I liked about GTA SA is you were part of grove street and could get members of it to back you up.

Rockstar got everything right with San Andreas.  Between the map and the way they told the story they hit a home run. They brought you in and connected you to the environment.  Everything started small and put the player at the mercy of the world around him. And they made that world something you connected to and cared about. You weren’t some character from another country or from a past situation, you were a local kid returning home. It wasn’t FIB agents that abducted you, it was two local crooked cops. And you connected with your old friends for the early episodes. They told you why they were pissed at you for leaving, you got involved in their world and bonded by defending the neighborhood. And when the map opened up, you again got stranded in a unique location that you had to interact with in order to move forward. I think if Nico gave us a little more context  and connected us better with where he came from I would have liked IV better. Maybe start off in East Europe and connect us to his family and tell us about Roman. That way when we meet Roman, we’re already looking forward to seeing the character and we have an idea of what we’re expecting, so that the small apartment really hits home. And if they set up a little bit about East European culture in the US, we’d connect to Roman’s surroundings and neighborhood a little more.  Maybe see some cheap American versions of foods or goods from back home, which would reinforce how out of place things were for them. San Andreas had all this going for it because it was American and the LA culture from the early 90’s was familiar.  I hope they hit it out of the park with VI like they did with SA.

Well, yeah, obviously GTA VI will have a set of new characters and everything, however I wouldn't be surprised if some characters returned the same way GTA IV characters returned into GTA V. The only protagonist we've seen in GTA V was Johnny, and he was killed off in the same cutscene he first appeared in. :kekw:

I am confident Rockstar will have at the very minimum an easter egg or reference, like you said, however it wouldn't surprise me if we will have some kind of side mission that includes a GTA V protagonist.

San Andreas had also great, engaging gameplay, it felt like everything is possible in this game, something that was terribly lacking in GTA V and luckily was brought back in RDRII.

So. That can be a hint from the actor themselves.

So you are saying RDR2 gives you a stronger feeling of "everything is possible in this game" than GTAV does?

Yeah okay lol.

RDR2 has more gameplay mechanics than GTAV, so yes, you can do more in RDR2 than you can in GTAV.

Yeah okay lol.

It does, by a long way, too. RDR's world is more immersive and advanced than GTA V's. Which makes sense as GTA V is a 360/PS3 game. RDR2 is a X1/PS4 game. The difference is the genre, GTA has more possibilities because there are more vehicles and ways to play around with the world. But RDR2's world is more interactive, more detailed. You poke it, it pokes back, more than GTA V does.

No, that's incorrect, it has a lot of mechanics but it is very linear and narrative driven when it comes to the story and chapters, one of the biggest complaints against RDR2 is that it restricts the way you can do stuff.

Not saying I dislike that about the game, I like the cinematic feeling they went for, but I can understand the complaint.

Sam Houser says...

"Grand Theft Auto V is another radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe" ..... " We are incredibly excited to share our new vision with our fans"    - GTAV

"With  Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world" ... "We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we’ve learned making games" - RDR2

What will be VI's statement say? let me guess......for fun

"Grand Theft Auto VI brings the most expansive, living and interactive world our team has ever built" .... "We are very excited to share our most amazing experience with the players"

I'm talking about freeroam gameplay, you're talking about the story.

I think it's important to keep the difference between the story and the game itself in mind

RDR2 is an entire game, the story is just a part of it

RDR2 has more freedom than GTA 5, you can't even rob a npc without having to kill him on GTA 5, you can't kidnap anyone, when you knock someone out they just die instead of being unconscious for a while and then waking up again, not to mention the many possibilities of RDR2's fist fights, melee fights and gun fights with many secret executions, I could go on for minutes talking about this.

yeah, basically the expansiveness of V's world/map (it's R*'s largest in terms of km^2), but even more expansive, combined with RDR2's livingness and interactiveness, but even more living and interactive.

I think that'd be a believable vision for VI. No need to reinvent the wheel. bring the goodness from this and that, mix'em and done.

If you count the out of bounds area, which is used for draw distance purposes and actually is solid and detailed for a great part of it, then RDR2's map actually is considerably bigger than GTA 5's.
