how do you even coordinate a project of this magnitude boggles the mind

They have a R* Games employee minecraft server and they determine who works on what by PvP events.

Honestly think that if we went back to GTA 4 driving physics it would be extremely poorly recieved because half the player base is too young to handle anyhting that resemebles a real vehicle with weight

It would be received poorly because 4's driving physics are bad. It feels like they tried to make them realistic but instead accidentally switched the code for a boat's turning code.

The man hours that have gone into GTA6 are probably completely incomprehensible to even the biggest of game dev companies

Let's do the math.

5,060 employees on LinkedIn. Let's assume normal 8 hour days, 5 days a week, for 48 weeks out of the year.

Let's just assume production began after RDR2's release in 2018. So ((((8*5060)*5)*48)*4)

38,860,800 man hours so far.

Just because they've updated the credits for GTAV/O doesn't mean they'll stop updating the game itself. They could easily update that page with new entries as they go on. I don't see GTAO to stop receiving at least one big update per year until VI comes out.

I feel like we're proooobably in the endgame phase of GTA V at this moment, and unless Rockstar pulls up at next weeks Nintendo Direct with GTA V for Switch, I'd expect VI to be their next announcement.

V’s map is so boring now, past the point of already knowing where everything is without needing to look at the map. Let Los Santos die.

Time for Vice City and a ever expanding map. Standing a top Vice Beach hotel holding a Glock looking at the sunset.

Now lets say those 5K people get each on average a 30K salary per year (or alternatively 3000 people get 50K per year)

+ 4 years of development, thats 600 million dollars (so far) on salaries alone..

whatever the real numbers are, just VI's personnel costs are going to be much bigger than V's entire reported budget

And that's 4436,16 years for a single human.

I think I won't be able to create Grand Theft Auto game on my own :modkek:

I think that for RDR3 Rockstar should just make its Story Mode and paid DLCs for it, maybe with a basic Online Mode like RDR1's, but nothing so serious, they'll make way more money and please the fans this way, RDR2's online mode is hot garbage compared to its story mode.

Agreed. I think if GTA VI is truly getting single-player support alongside Online support in the form of added cities and new missions then it'd be disappointing if RDR3 reverts back to not having any story DLC again. So they should support it with paid expansions and after learning a lesson after RDO, leave the online as something smaller, as you stated, that perhaps gets a few DLC maps and some minctorstanstions but isn't supported on the level of single-player. The opposite of GTA VI where both single-player and online would be equally updated with content.

Realistically, about 3,000-3,500 people are currently working at R*. I could be way off, but it's certainly not 5,000.

Even though RDR2's Thank You page listed over 3,000 names, Rob Nelson said about 2,000 people from R* worked on RDR2, 1,600 of which were developers, and GTAV/O's Thank You page is a culmination of an endeavour spanning over 10+ years.

Actors are not included for a good reason. They would have to update the list every time and it would take like 2 months simply because the credits page doesn't make money so they don't waste resource on it :prismkek:

it's bit wierd though, they use SAG-AFTRA Union actors, so don't union rules require that you get credited...?

I'm almost sure they'll update it with future DLC's to include newer employees or current employee promotions so... :p A bit of a shame actors aren't credited but oh well.

I think they have to include the actors in the credits. Especially SAG-AFTRA actors I think they have it as a rule at least for TV and movies idk about Video games.
