To me the weirdest thing about RDR2's trailers is how I was not interested in the game that much back then, I was thinking it's not GTA so it's probably not as good, there's a specific moment that absolutely sold me the game and that was in the gameplay trailer:

This shot right here sold me RDR2, I instantly wanted to go all the way down and then to the mountains in the back.

It is my favorite game and still continues to amaze me every single time I load it up, watching the trailers for it again makes me want to play it, it doesn't happen with other games.

I had little knowledge of RDR1 up until a few weeks before release, I think I'd heard of it but beyond that didn't know much about it. Think I remember realising it was by R* around that time and watched the trailers and got sold pretty quickly and ended up buying it at launch and well, the rest is history.

Same here 100%. RDR2 taught me to never doubt a new IP from Rockstar, although the IP was already 8 years old at the time but new to me given my previous GTA fever

lol I had the opposite reaction. I was such a rabid fan boy of the IP that I was practically drooling when the game was announced. But yeah, that mountain backdrop shot was probably the most iconic part of that gameplay trailer. For me, the moment I knew RDRII was going to be legit was that scene that showed Arthur leading his horse on top of Mount Hagen.

I wonder what THAT iconic moment will be for the GTA VI gameplay trailer.

Lol, it was same for me. Knew the game was going to be cool, but didn't really think much about it, didn't think about buying it on launch or anything.

Then the gameplay trailer was released, I saw all the beautiful places they were showing... and then they showed the interactions with different NPCs, being able to talk to anyone. That's the moment that sold RDR2 to me. I couldn't believe that we'll be able to interact with and talk to ANY NPC we stumble upon.

After the gameplay trailer, I could barely wait those final months before the game got released, and I bought it as soon as I could. Luckily, I only waited a few months, I know most RDR fans were waiting for years. :kekw:

They will announce it, when they want, plain and simple

For me it was RDR2 chill weather.

Especially the rivers. Man, I could spend all day long fishing some fish I didn't even know existed but the sounds, the bugs (insects), watching the wildlife living their day, hearing the enormous energy from the waterfall far in the distance… It was so immersive man.

Rockstar knows damn well that GTA6 will be making more money than the Trilogy DE update :kekw:

man, the trilogy is just so depressing.. it's far better to try and play the original if able to. or get them with mods to actually improve the performance and gameplay. i can't believe what a joke grove street games is and that rockstar was fine with it launching in its current state...

It’s a funny one because whilst I loved RDR I was not overly excited for RDRII until the gameplay trailer. Not to the extent I would be for a GTA.

Shots like this and the sunset one by Valentine. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing honestly. What made it even more unbelievable is that it’s a Rockstar title and so you know everything in the frame is in reach, any other trailer and you would not assume that. And then as the trailer plays you realise that everything looks and moves better than other games. It was super overstimulating as a trailer. The horse detail and physics especially blew my mind.

It’s such an elite level of craftsmanship. It makes me that much more excited of the visual and physics improvements in GTA VI. I can’t even begin to imagine how it looks.

As is always the case with Rockstar, trying things out now to benefit their future titles. I feel like Guarma specifically is going to pay dividends for them in the creation of some of VI’s map with rumoured additional islands.

original or definitive edition ,  it still won’t change the fact that the ps2 era games aged horribly…I don’t see why anyone would waste their time playing any of those games in 2022

III and VC aged horribly but SA is still more fun than any Saints row, Watch dogs, Cyberwank and even GTA V.

Consider getting good.

"Aging horribly" is a label you can put on any older game. You can put that label on GTA V and in RDR 2 in a few years. Hell, you will be able to put it on GTA VI decades later. But that doesn't mean you will be right. I can see how someone picking up these games now would find them clunky but they are cult classics for a reason. And it's not because people wear rose-colored glasses.

GTA III and VC aiming, driving, map and missions aged badly indeed. If something aged really bad in SA is the slow ass wardrobe animation.

That's nothing but just preference. Please stop with this "this or that thing has aged badly" nonsense.

It's f*cking annoying and affects the gameplay, what you mean "just preference".

At the same time it's more immersive, than "new" solutions. I'm not saying I miss this but just because you don't like something doesn't mean, that it has aged badly.

I remember watching the first GTAV trailer and the moment that got me really hyped was mt chilliad with all the trees, it seemed so vast!

And then we got what we got. Lol

Okay, too bad that the only immersive thing in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the slow-ass changing animation.

Nah I don't think that'll hurt anything. Trilogy DE on mobile is relatively low-profile in comparison to something like GTA VI. They can still announce the mobile release's release date for 2023 and announce GTA VI in 2022.

Announcing Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Anniversary Edition for Select Mobile Devices, October 13, 2011

GRAND THEFT AUTO V Official Announcement, October 25th, 2011

Lol good detective skills as usual :kekw: They did announce III on mobile for the 10th anniversary of the series, teased "something more" was coming in a Q&A or whatever, then it was GTA V a few days later.

To be honest, I'd take a brand new Table Tennis sequel from Rockstar now just to see the meltdown on the social media platforms :prismkek:. It'd be a cool little showcase for modern RAGE too.

I'd be careful saying that kind of stuff about the one thing 95% of the people on GTAForums worship and are really nostalgic about. I can't say I disagree either, the old games looks awful, but they looked good at the time.
