They very well could do that sneakily and only us crazy ones would notice that :sadkek:

I do believe he's still at R* yes, and still the Art Director. He gave an interview for GTA III's 20th anniversary last year and talked about the future of the series.

Rob Nelson and Aaron Garbut alongside Sam Houser 'carry' Rockstar Games these days and have for a long time now. As long as they are around I think Rockstar is in good hands!

So y'all admit you're crazy for a game that hasn't even been announced. :jkek:

If VI ins't revealed this year then I'm expecting we see the game no later than 2025. If it's revealed this October then I'm betting "release date" for fall 2023, which is delayed eventually to the spring, and then finally fall 2024.

I think they will show a teaser trailer (around 1 minute in length) this October but without any release window let alone release date attached to it, like they did it with GTAV back in 2011. They will reveal the release window in mid-late 2023 with Spring 2024 before its ultimately delayed to Fall 2024 with a release date of October 25, 2024.

Not just Sam, Rob, or Aaron. There are literally hundreds of people at Rockstar who have worked there for more than 5-10 years.

People like Andrew Semple, Jolyon Orme, Jennifer Kolbe, Ivan Pavlovich, Rod Edge, Dan Van Zant, Rupert Humphries, Michael Unsworth, Chris Choi, Phil Hooker, Sergei Kuprejanov, Klass Schilstra, Steven Messinger, Owen Shephard, Stuart Petri, plus countless others, are still at Rockstar who are intimately familiar with their productions for over 10-15-20 years. You can hear Messinger talking about how most design leads in his department worked there for 12-13-14 years (at 6:40 point in the video).

Just take a look at this credits page of RDR2, and you'll see exactly how many of them have been at Rockstar for a very long time.

That's the thing man, so many Rockstar fans get hung up over key departures that they forget Rockstar still has a team comprised of thousands of incredibly passionate and experienced developers. Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser and Lazlow are responsible for some of my favorite games, and I wish them well. I just think it's unfair to say that Rockstar will unravel because one key guy leaves. Leading up to RDRII, it seems everyone was saying it would be absolute trash because Benzies left, and Rockstar lost its drive and soul going after online money. Now everyone is saying GTA VI will be trash because Dan left and Rockstar lost its drive and soul going after online money. See the pattern? After VI releases to critical acclaim and Sam Houser leaves, everyone will doom post about the next game. That's the way it is.

Unsworth and Humphries are still around to craft great stories and characters, and there are plenty of devs to make a great, handcrafted, and polished world that improves upon previous Rockstar games.

Spoiler

Yes I am high on hopium, how could you tell?

Owen Shepard is an interesting one and is a prime example of why we should champion new talent instead of proclaiming the business will fail because of losing a couple of dinosaurs.

This guys portfolio pre GTA V and RDR2 isn’t that impressive. And he pulls of that masterclass in RDR2 as lighting director in his first game as director. Crazy.

I’m pretty certain nobody is worried about Leslie anymore after what his company showcased the other day too. People need to understand that these people might have been holding the company back rather than keeping it innovating.

What interests me the most now about Leslie’s departure is the approach of his new game, it kind of solidifies rumours for me that he was the key player in pushing GTA Online. It’s clear what vision he has for online experiences now with NFTS and meta stuff. And then they make RDR2 without him and merely 4 years later the online has been nuked. Interesting.

If VI isn't announced in October, how do you expect the mood on here to change? Lot's of sh*ts and giggles right now - but I can see that turning into anger, frustration and arguing if the game isn't revealed in 2 months time.

It doesn't bare thinking about tbh, however, I truly believe we will get the official reveal sometime at the end of this year.

If GTA 6 indeed has two protagonists, I can predict one of them will die trying to save the other one based on the player's choice.

When you look at Saints Row V is still way ahead of it and it was released 9 years ago lool. Just in terms of immersion. No one can compete with Rockstar. It’s mad really. VI is going to make Saints Row look like child’s play.

Imagine we're a week away from release and something crazy happens in the political world that forces rockstar to delay the game and edit a mission or two. Lol with the state of this world ATM I would not be surprised.

Edit: Maybe it's happened internally already. Rockstar might have to be careful with the way they portray the FBI. Lol

I doubt that. While it's possible, I don't think Rockstar would force that on players for GTA. They're more likely to give us a choice, like GTA V. RDR is more the kind of series that would be more serious about it. GTA is typically, but not always (GTA IV) more light hearted and 'fun'. I don't think they'd force us to lose a protagonist in a GTA game.

Tbh it's not even hopium, you're right lol. The RDR2 situation is a good example and even if there's new writing blood in future that's not necessarily a bad thing at all and could even be better.

I've been inured by the hype train for too long now, I'm hopping off until mid September.
