Good ol’ times... I witnessed both the GTA V and the RDR2 droughts and now I’m kinda used to the way they market their games, so I’m totally relaxed for VI. It’ll come when it’s gonna come.

Exactly! Unless Rockstar this time are really, really waiting to reveal GTA VI and have no delays... there's gonna' be long periods of silence and frustration. But I just can't see them doing anything differently, tbh. It works for them. It drives demand and desperation and in turn hype when they do show something.

Happens all the time. For example, the recent God of War: Ragnarök release date and Collector's Edition announcement was delayed. It just depends on your perspective. If the delay is internal and we don't know about it, sure how can it be delayed. But it did still happen, we just won't know.

Yeah, I can’t really think of a full reveal not coming this year, considering they’ve addressed the existence of the game already. Also, if that was to be the case, it’ll mean that Rockstar went through major changes when it comes to advertising their titles. It’s something I would expect from CD Project, but certainly not from Rockstar. Again, I’m fairly confident that we’re really close to a full reveal of the game and the fact that they specifically talked about it at the beginning of this year, simply validates my hopes.

I’ve said it multiple times, just stay silent until you’re 98% done. sh*t announce the damn game 6 months before release. This silent thing for a whole year is not it. Just imagine if they have something for us this fall. But delay it to 2024. Might as well keep your mouth shut until 2023.

It's certainly not impossible they don't announce it this year. With the first mention of the Next Grand Theft Auto being in February, then they could announce it in February 2023. But, this October just feels like the right time for it.

they already did this though by stating they're working on it on feb 2nd.. or was it the 4th? can't member, but still.. now we literally have nothing... last time they announced a game we at least got something...

Yeah, GTA V was delayed 3 times. Once publicly: Spring 2013 to September 17th 2013. And twice internally: late 2012 to March 2013, then to May 2013. This was confirmed by a dev on Twitter, who got into an argument with fans about GTA V's delays. The dev didn't know the delays were never publicly announced lol. BUT, we did kinda' read between the lines it had been delayed from 2012 to 2013.

The thing is that they’re actually seeking for those long periods of drought. People are on the edge of their seats anytime they drop a new image or info. This is how they build the hype and I don’t think they actually wanna change this way of marketing their titles.

Technically, they haven't announced anything officially, yet. It's more of a confirmation their next game is a Grand Theft Auto game. But that isn't recorded as an official announcement.

Definitely not impossible, but the fact that they voluntarily keep addressing VI, almost like they’re prepping the fandom to a bigger reveal later this year, makes me think that we’re not that far off from a trailer.

Did you think back in 2016 that GTA 6 could be out in a few years? Or did people know RD2 was their only game for a while? What was the situation back then?

Yeah because on the flipside if Rockstar did do such a thing which is basically be silent for another year in a half regarding GTA VI I’m pretty sure you and others would have comments like “why Rockstar wont say anything about GTA VI??? , we’re almost halfway through 2024 and still no info or trailer , why do they hate us so much??? it’s obvious they only care about GTAO and shark cards and cancelled GTA VI , they need to communicate more” you know , the usual BS???

I think mostly the same as with GTA VI, fans knew Rockstar Games are working to make RDR2

I think back then people knew we'd still have to wait a while for GTA VI but I also think people expected an announcement earlier. R* had just announced RDR2 though so...
