GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 7] - The one with the announcement

Could an October official reveal announcement actually be the way to go followed by silence again until around Spring of next year (2023) followed by screenshots and then nothing again until Fall/Winter and then them teasing a release date of 2024? The delays will happen too I’m guessing as well until Rockstar picks that perfect month and day to release it. Damn, maybe we really could be picturing a Fall 2024 release date (certainly hope not)

This speculation is making my head hurt

Imagine getting sentenced to prison for 10 years when GTA 5 was announced and you get out and GTA 6 hasn’t even been announced

That's crazy to even think about lol

I bet we all could list what’s been going on the last decade almost since GTA V released :kekw:

There are 9 more vehicles left on the drip feed for GTA-Online, which means at the current pace the last vehicle would be released on October 20th. The 25th Anniversary of the GTA series is on October 21st...Probably a coincidence?

Something's coming, I can feel it (for real this time LOL)

You guys reckon we’ll be drip-fed hints and teasers leading up to the big reveal? Honestly feel like cryptic hints and teasers more fun and exciting than a blatant “here’s the game and this is when it drops”

After 10 years I prefer the latter honestly :sadkek:

Anyone got a time machine? I'm headed back to the 1800s

So you can play victorian GTA alone? Nah, take us with you

edit: riding a cariage over London Bridge in Assassins Creed Syndicate is the closest we'll ever get to victorian GTA

Ok I'm just gonna admit it.

I think there's a chance this is true and I think not only would it be cool if it was, I think it could really work.

First of all there's the apparent confirmation of a female protagonist who is Latina. That fits in with this obviously.

Second, I think this could really work in terms of story, the ex cop tough guy turned corrupt mixed with a current cop who is also tough.

Back when this first came out, everyone's debunk was "Rockstar don't mess with famous people ever since blah blah blah"

well that's been blown out of the water with Dr Dre content recently, not to mention Ray Liotta who played Tommy in the first Vice City.

Here's another reason I think a big name actor like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes for that matter works.

First of all, GTA is in that league now, it probably wasn't going from GTA4 to GTA5.

GTA5 put the Grand Theft Auto series into an elite space in terms of entertainment. It's top tier, and there's plenty of money around to afford actors like this.

On a side note I think there'd be more confidence in term of NDA's working with well known professionals vs "no name" actors with, in a sense, nothing to lose.

Not that people like Roger Clark didn't do a great job keeping everything under wraps, I'm just saying.

And to finish from a personal view,  I think Eva Mendes would make a great protagonist in terms of how introducing a female into the GTA protagonist world would work.

And Ryan Gosling, again, although kind of one dimensional with his acting, I think would work great as a protagonist, and would also help the GTA series take another step in terms of video game media and where it sits in terms of audio visual entertainment as a whole.

Rockstar explicitly said that they won't use big-name actors for main roles like a protagonist or main supporting characters. Cameos and radio hosts are different in that regard, since GTA IV had also plenty of famous people doing voicework for it.

So, with this, I was ready to dismiss your guess, but then I remembered that these claims were made while Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies were still at Rockstar. So maybe things have changed. I just realized that I don't know what to expect from GTA VI.

Ryan Gosling charges $2 million to act in a movie. I don't think Rockstar would pay an actor $2 million :kekw:

Ok, one thing I really wanna see in GTA VI is motion matching. The animations in The Last of Us Part 2 are out of this world thanks to it. It's a game changer!

rdr2 has really impressive animation for an open world game

Only problem I have with RDR2's animation (which are different from RDO, Rockstar made those faster on purpose) is that you have to wait for animations to finish and there's no smooth blending that makes movement more responsive

Yes and that's where motion matching comes into play.

That said I'm already excited to play the The Last of Us 1 Remake on PC (as soon as its available) ... the motion matching will make a whole lot of difference to the gameplay compared to the original release back in 2013.

You know they're cheap

They don't pay actors big money. I don't even think the V trio got a million. A big name guy like Ryan Gosling has a quote

Yes, GTA VI will have motion matching, a patent was found ages ago and R* has been hiring for a ton of interesting animation-related stuff.

There's a couple other interesting GDC presentations, one from EA and another from Ubisoft about the use of machine learning and AI (for which R* are hiring) to motion-match ragdolls.

If C* wants to show us next level face animations they should hire Christian Bale
He earned $10 million as base salary for The Dark Knight and then was awarded with a $20 million performance bonus. For his final appearance Christian earned $15 million. That's a total of $54 million for the three films. He was reportedly offered $50 million to return for a fourth film, but declined. :adminkek:

-snip-

They are not going to pay an actor that much money. For $15 million he better be working on coding and programming the game and working during crunch :kekw:

When you see Arthur Morgan u don't see an actor u see Arthur ,

When u see Ryan gosling in gta vi u will only see ryan gosling and not the character cuz he is too famous .

Actors who play the protagonists in GTAVI will be unknowns .

I don't think R* are gonna bother with Hollywood anymore, pretty sure this has been implied even by themselves multiple times. Recent games have had less and less big celebrities, they're just sh*t to work with many times.

lol I know!!! + games like Cyberpunk and ETC use actors for marketing and attention and R* doesn't need those kind of BS!

But they need someone like Christian Bale for next gen face animations! Christian Bale can show a lot of emotions with his face in 1 second!

If I had any power in R* I would hire this guy to be an emotional psycho antagonist! :bruh:
