Henderson's bang on the money that people will hate GTA VI when it launches.

 

Because that's the way the world is right now. If they change something it'll get hate, if they don't do X it'll get hate, if they remove X they'll get hate, if they add X they'll get hate. The gaming community is incredibly toxic right now which stems from a very divided and toxic world. Seriously, the world sucks right now. Which is why I cannot and probably will never understand why people choose to use their increasingly valuable free time and willingly damage their own mental health by choosing to get angry over video games, a form of entertainment that from day 1 was meant to be an escapism from the outside world. People moan and cry about all this stuff every f*cking day it's no wonder they don't enjoy games anymore, cause they've got themselves so indefinitely wound up by all this pointless stuff that has no impact on their life.

 

...bit of a rant but hey. See people all the time moan about wanting the good ol' days back when video games were supposedly good - even though there's loads of great games still. But I ache for the day when people stopped caring about so much pointless sh*t and let themselves actually enjoy playing games again, lol.

Yeah, pretty much this. He's not wrong about the reaction, but at the same time I don't think it'll affect the game's critic score or how much it'll be lauded anyway as long as it's as good as usual. There will surely be a ton of unfortunate and depressing gamer outrage if the JS stuff is true though...

I didn’t play RD2 until 2021. Because all I did was watch YouTube and think what a boring game. Played it, loved it

Jason’s article will just be over exaggerated. I bet when the game comes out you won’t be able to tell that rockstar are cutting down on jokes and sh*t. Also when he refers to a bonnie and Clyde story I reckon he’s just on about how there will be an female and male protagonist and the story ends up being completely different to bonnie and Clyde. 
 

Jason may of asked 100 employees questions about the game and only reported on what 5 people said. That’s what journalists do. They will just pick what is going to cause outrage

I disagree with this a lot. There were days were games were objectively better, more creative, released complete and gave people full experiences from day one. And games were also cheaper and easier to develop. Yeah there was a lot of sh*t shovelware because of it, but there really were some gems back in the day. 
 

now it seems like everything is watered down and pretty mediocre. What I would consider to be genuine and rational complaints, others may call “bitching and moaning”. Especially after seeing people defend the definitive edition of the trilogy.  That was extremely eye opening because it showed that a lot of people don’t really demand much, which could be a good thing, to heed expectations for something, but it’s also the reason so many broken, bullsh*t, lackluster or just straight up cash grabbing games continue to come out. People will continue to pay for and defend trash, and it has a negative effect on anyone who enjoys playing video games because the bar keeps getting set lower and lower. I don’t think having standards means people care about “pointless sh*t”. I think it’s an absolute necessity for the games industry. Do I think we should be worried about VI? No. But do I think peoples apprehensions are unwarranted? Also no.

 

saying this, are video games life or death? No. It’s just something to do when my kids are napping or I have nothing else on my plate. But if I had to choose between every game released before or after 2010, I’d pick the former.

I can't get my head around the fact that there's a Reddit sub that exists for the sole purpose of bitching about The Last of Us Part II, i mean, i had my issues with certain parts of the story and it wasn't a completely perfect game but how the f*ck do people get their knickers in such a knot that they'll make themselves sit around for literally years bitching and moaning about a game, it's developers and voice actors etc, it's utter madness.  If you don't like a game, just don't buy the f*cking thing and move on with your life!!

You can disagree with it but I would actually probably think there's a very strong case for it being factually correct.

 

There are more games releasing now than ever and there are more quality games releasing now than ever. The reason why people think it was better back in the day is the same reason why people think music was better back in the day, because they only remember the good stuff. Garbage video games have been releasing since video games were a thing, broken games, unfinished games, repetitive, generic games. All a thing since day 1.

 

The industry has changed and evolved with the rise of online multiplayer absolutely, and I'm absolutely no fan of things like lootboxes and what have you, but despite all that I still play a larger variety of games now than I did back in the N64, PS2 era, I play a higher amount of quality games now than in that era. There's more gems releasing nowadays than there was back in the day simply as a byproduct of there being more games releasing now than back in the day. There's possibly a discussion to be had over the lack of store curation on most major platforms making it difficult to find these games at times, but there's also an issue of players moaning about the lack of quality games these days being stuck in their comfort zone playing the same stuff and not trying some new games they've never tried before - regardless, good games still exist and are still being made in their droves.

There are A.I. that compile songs since 1950's and it shows music nowadays have less complexity, less melodies, less everything.

There  are no holes. Music is math, data. A sheet music is as precise as a binary code. A sheet music is played exactly the same anywhere in the world, any century you're in.

I don't know what's so wrong with the Confederacy flag, being a confedate back then or even a sympathizer nowadays doesn't mean you're racist, Newt Knight was a confederate soldier himself back then before he deserted and began helping the black cause, Phil Cassidy also is a close friend of Victor (a black man) and even let him date his sister without second thoughts, people should study more before seeing racism on everything, sure the Confederacy wanted to keep slavery in America because that's what made the south rich, including the state of Florida (contextualizing Vice City's lore), but a lot of soldiers went into battle just because they were forced to as well, not to mention this is part of America's history, you can't just ignore/change it.
