Because South Park doesn't have a team of 2000 people working on it with presumably a pretty diverse workforce that could take offense to things in the very thing they are making.

 

South Park also isn't subject to mass media claiming it is responsible for kids going on killing sprees.

 

I bet Rockstar have plenty of LGBTQ staff. It's just unjust and is not fair or tasteful to insult the very people who are helping to make you billions of dollars.

Yes they will, they did it for IV and V. Only this time it will be worse. They will probably blueball us for months after showing us a logo rather than a week.

They don't ''have to'', I think it was mainly a decision based on how well received RDR2 was with its more serious, not humiliating approach to minorities

I just completed GTA IV's main story for the third or fourth time after many years not having played through it.

What can I say, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes.

That ending and story always breaks my heart and makes me all sad and I feel the pain when I look at Niko. Such a gritty, masterful experience combined with the best and most fun physics a GTA game has to offer to date.

In a lot of ways GTA IV's story makes me feel the same which I felt after completing The Last of Us Part 2 ... two crazy emotional rides I will never forget!

You may ask why I didn't mention RDR2 here ... well, replaying GTA IV in specific showed me how stupid and dumb RDR2's story is at times ... it is non-believable at times which makes it hard to be really soaked into the experience. IV is completely relatable and everything Niko does makes sense in a way I cannot tell about Arthur in RDR2.

I was genuinely disappointed when they “shelved” the PS5 remaster. But they did it so VI can come out in time for Fall 2023, so I’m pleased VI will come out faster. Fall 2024 hopefully we”ll get the IV remaster.. along with Liberty City in VI’s online ?

Was actually the reverse with RDR2 in many aspects. Whilst there was commentary on natives and also women and African Americans, it was authentic and the character of Arthur and the narrative really did work to put them on our side of the fight rather than humiliate them. The work they did with Sadie, Abigail, Mrs Grimshaw and Tilly. The work they did with the Arthur and Lenny relationship. Charles and the narrative with the fight of the Indians. All quite admirable and wholesome and using the struggle of the times to create the authenticity to comment on such issues in a positive way. I remember a conversation with Arthur and Lenny on the way to scope out Shady Belle being a dialogue that rung home most. Really powerful stuff.

Since we have nothing to talk about ... how about we share our favorite GTA mission of all time? Mine needs no further introduction. Hands down the best GTA mission there has ever been.

If we're talking about favourite missions? That's a tough one!

GTAIV has so many, because it was such a serious game and Niko was such a well realised character. I think the mission where he can kill either Derrick or Francis springs to mind. I always felt Niko was the most dangerous protag because of how mercenary he was (Almost on the level of Fido from GTAIII) and that one mission really encapsulates that. Especially if you decide to extort Francis for more money mid-mission. Niko's  a cold guy!

 

Going further back, I love Rub Out in Vice City and how coldly Tommy takes control of Diaz's operation. The game does such a great job of showing Tommy as a charismatic force of nature, and that mission is the height of that. He played Diaz like a chump and took over the whole city. It's an amazing moment.

I don’t know about favourites, but since I first played it as a 12-year-old, I always remember the Liberty City Stories mission where you have to photograph that guy dressed up as a baby chasing those ladies round. I remember finding it weird and creepy. 
 

And the GTA 2 mission that I probably played over 20 years ago where you have to get yourself arrested, then when you’re in prison starting a riot, I always thought was cool as hell.

Remember when they delayed RDR2 and told us we are going to show you more about the game this summer and they showed us a trailer in the last day of summer.

I think they did something similar with V, telling us that they'd have more to show during the month of January (2013) then waiting until January 31st to let us know that the game has been delayed.

I think they do it on purpose for you to be impatient, and to want it even more.

Liberty City Stories was wild. Toni ends up coming across as among the worst of all the protags when you consider the screwed up stuff he does. The guy he photographs he ends up chopping up and feeding to other humans. Then he commits a little light terrorism just to top it off.

 

Not counting Trevor (Who's basically just a cartoon character), Toni is by far the biggest monster of all the main characters, and it's so weird how blase the game is about it.
