I feel like no other GTA will ever take me on a journey like Vice City still does.

There's just something about that game that sets it apart from the rest. Maybe the atomosphere of a late 80s Miami.

It was unique in many ways. Hopefully rockstar will be able to make us feel the same way about VI's modern-day Vice City and Florida

I hate to say it. But seems that Henderson guy might have been correct. He said 2025 release? And the devs Jason interviewed said 2024 would be pushing it. It’s pointing to a 2025 release…by which point I probably won’t even have time to play it lool

12 years later after GTA 5 we would finally get GTA 6.

f*ck me that's a f*cking long time to waitfall-jump-out-of-the-window.gif

I saw San Andreas as the better game, played both vice city and san andreas that same time, I was way too impressed back in 2005 when I played it, big map and the way it took us to each area was great, too many things to do and awesome missions (not sure about the zero missions, too much rage on those)

Is this rockstars new business model/plan? Release a new GTA-game and milk that cow as dry as f*cking possible for a decade or more and then after 10-15 years release a new GTA-Game and the cycle continues?

If that is the case that means i'm only going to see a handful of more GTA-Games in my entire life releasing that is left of it lmao

Yeah and that was with that old engine/hardware, imagine now what they can do, that's why I'd like to see the 80s again, with better graphics, npcs looking and feeling more alive, more cars, bigger map etc. That culture/atmosphere of the 80s will be far better now than from 2002.

Hendo said 2024-'25, which is a very wide window and nothing concrete at all. Even without insider sources, anybody with a level head could've easily guessed that the game wasn't coming out in 2022-'23. And the devs in Jason's articles were skeptical about a FY2024 release, which ends on March 31st, 2024. So it's still very much possible for R* to release the game in late 2024, which would put it in FY2025.

imagine if it released in 2023

2025 seems more likely for release   if we get nothing the next few weeks:bruh:

unless they say 2024 and there's no delay

I forgot to mention in my previous comment, but Strauss Zelnick has been quoted as saying he wants their games to be out sooner, tie that with TakeTwo increasing their advertising budget around 2024 and a late 2024 release date doesn't seem that farfetched.

Here's the article about it.

It will be interesting to see whats coming after gta 6

They will for sure milk it even harder than gta5/gtao

Red dead redemption story is pretty much told/finished imo

I guess they release gta6 in 2025, gtaonline2 joining the party several months later (2026?), and then its milking the cow to infinity

I wouldnt be surprised if there wont be any new gta game for a veeeeeery long time if they want to expand gta6/gtao2 in the future

But this could leave them space to remake/remaster gta4, rdr1 or even other old games, and after many years of gta6 hype they could start sth bigger again

Edit:

Thats why i really hope gta6 singleplayer will be as good as pre-gta5 / rdr2

It would suck if i waited so many years for gta6 just to get another "good" gta game like gta5 was for me, and hopefully there is countless hours to play in singleplayer

If R* starts adding brand new cities and missions as expansions, the game could potentially last a lot longer than V. In that scenario, they'd probably make two large-scale games (my guess, a Red Dead sequel and a new IP) after VI before moving forward with another GTA sequel. I'm curious to see if they do anything brand new with VR at all, no port or anything, in the next 6-8 years.

San Andreas is also an absolute banger. Riding across countryside with K-Rose is nothing but an unforgettable experience :)

Late 2024 is still pretty much 2 years away. They could reveal it in early 2023 and state 2024 as the release year, which, in the end, turns out to be late 2024. That would pretty much put the gap between reveal and release closer to 2 years than 1.

music creates atmosphere indeed, GTA VI needs to have unique music in each part of the map this time, so we can listen to all of the tracks. In GTA V, there's so many songs I've never heard, I don't think that was implemented well. Yes blaine county played mostly the rebel radio and the other one but still.

I'm sure they'd want the game out as soon as possible, but COVID certainly didn't help, nor did those leaks, especially when R* is reportedly trying to minimise crunch. Lots of AAA games got delayed in the last couple of years. Some things might be out of R* or T2's control.

On monday, will we be able to see if T2 sticks to their increased advertising budget or if they will adjust it?

It's November 5th... I had high hopes for an announcement the last few days and it made me realize that announcement is postponed because of recent leaks that's for sure. February or May it is. (TT conference call)

That's the reality. There's no two ways about it, unless you want them to go all in on a single franchise and start pumping out samey sequels every year or so. Even the new God of War sequel took over 4½ years, which is very much a PS4 title at heart and nowhere near the scale and complexity of a modern Rockstar game.

Some people will not agree with me but I feel like GTA V had way too many songs, the game kinda didn't set the tone for itself as well as other GTA games did. I mean it of course had great themes like the one below for example but still there were tons of songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s...

I don't know, but didn't T2 clarify that those advertising budgets are for their third-party contracts only?

Quote

A Take-Two representative told GamesIndustry.biz that the table in the 10-K reflects marketing commitments made to third-party companies. As Rockstar is an internal Take-Two studio, that undermines the notion that the reported marketing commitments would be related to the next Grand Theft Auto.

(source)

Anything about their potential revenue predictions for upcoming fiscal years are more interesting, imo. A large spike could indicate VI :shillkek:
