Because RDR2 was in development for 8 years, 2 of which were pre-production (planning the game and the story) and 6 of which were production with all of their studios combined. 4k assets as standard for everything yo. Hell, it's a bit speculative but they might even go bigger to future proof the game as 8k is actually viable with a 4090 lol. Obviously that's a 2k GPU but give it a few years and we'll be getting 4090 power in a XX70 series card.

There's a really alarming amount of videos being posted to YouTube at the moment about GTA 6 pretending to be the trailer or be the release date by some really big channels, one I just saw was titled 'Grand Theft Auto 6 - November' and another was 'GTA 6 Official Tease Just Dropped' ... it wouldn't be so sad if it wasn't channels with alleged 'Reputation' posting them...

Almost as bad as m’f*ckas claiming what a game is going to look like in the unreal engine and passing it off as real

sh*t, I'm sure I'll never stop playing video games, but even if I do, I'll still be excited about every Rockstar Games release no matter what. They're the only company that can truly make me feel happy like a kid on Christmas morning every time they announce something new.

Nothing will happen this year for sure, too many people are waiting for an announcement or a trailer because there were too many speculations. Rockstar always likes to surprise. Who would have thought that they would ever mention something about the next GTA in February? Let's be serious

As far as underpromise, R* Sure has! 

Cyberpunk 2077 Overpromised and Underdelivered. Man, I hate that game for its poor optimisation on non-RTX cards. The shadows look like crap without RTX. Had to buy a new GPU to play that game.

 

With R*, they promise and deliver. Their trailers do promise a lot and their games deliver that. Otherwise R* likes to remain silent ( looking at you Ubisoft, Far Cry 6 GOTY my ass)

 

But man, R* takes a lot of time between titles which simultaneously justified by the quality of the games but still 11 years are 11 years.

 

Btw, Happy 11th Anniversary to probably the most iconic game trailer of all time.

okay so then you must be a rockstar employee if it's for sure that nothing will be announced this year. it's so annoying seeing all the pessimists on here. and that's why i don't even visit this section much. like sure you shouldn't get your hopes up. but it's not wrong to have a little hope or excitement. otherwise what is the point of living if we can't be excited about stuff. if we spend every day saying nothing will happen and blah blah blah. then you're basically a robot. take your negativity elsewhere.

Guess with them skipping October with it being the most likely month for announcements and whatnot, not to mention the anniversaries is that the game is still hasn't entered the readiness of the two year gap between announcement and release, it's just too early for announcement giving the game's current state, got nothing to do with "surprising us" it's all on a schedule and if the development hasn't met the schedule then there's no announcement regardless of what month or anniversary it is.

 

Keep thinking that maybe if they were close they would have taken advantage of October and announced it not to mention paving over those 3gigs of leaks, with them mentioning the next GTA a couple a times now gives me the vibes that they really want to announce this thing officially but they simply just can't yet.
