I’ve never thought about that, but your reasoning isn’t actually bad at all. Actually it’s even more reasonable to think of that name, since apart from the lake, there’s supposed to be a statue of a certain Leonida in the game, who I suppose is gonna be some kind of war hero or patriot. I think you’re onto something.

Hmm, I don’t think there is a super clear shot of that sign and what you can read is actually just an S followed by the letters IDA. I mean, now that @Leonida Man made me thought about that, it’s not that far fetched to think that it could be called Leonida, but I’m not ruling out Florida just yet.

Nope, I clearly remember seeing an upscaled version of that shot and what you could’ve seen was Vice City and S.....IDA in the bottom part, so obviously the first thing many people thought was Florida, right? We know that the state didn’t have a fictional counterpart in the franchise, but I didn’t thought about Leonida and it actually sounds pretty legit as a state name imo.

So this Thursday, there's a fair chance Rockstar may announce info about the next GTAO update. Considering a new GTA+ event will start and the new Heist Challenge.

 

I know this isn't related to GTA6, but I like to speculate, which I like to remind yall isn't a fact, that Rockstar could announce the info in a sort of a "Community Update".

Who knows. Could just be a place holder until they come up with something. Idk if it has anything to do with the developer tools. But they used real names, such as South Beach etc but I guess that's just to make it easier for the devs to locate certain areas

In fact, if you consider the very last frame where the logo is visible in the clip (before it disappears off screen right), it seems very clear that the letter to the left of the IDA is not a R, but an N, which would give credence to the Leonida guess.

Notorious leaker TezFunz2 CONFIRMS the GTA 6 trailer is coming out this thursday

It seems bananas to me that they would drop the trailer announcement ON earnings day, but I guess if T2 wants maximum impact and focus on the new thing (rather than the hiccups of the past quarter), then it would make some sense.

They'll just focus on the new GTA Online heist update, and if the community update about GTA VI does happen, they will keep shareholders reassured.. again. Damage control.

Regarding the apparent non-VC 20th anniversary celebration, I think there's at least two obvious and one potential good reason for R* to ignore it.

 

Obvious #1 and has been mentioned by others: The big focus on VC as part of the DE-release. You can only milk that nostalgia so many times, and two years in a row may seem like too much.

Obvious #2: The 25th Anniversary is coming soon and is a way bigger occasion. This relates to the above as well as to the following wacky theory:

What if... They plan to release a Vice City-homage DLC for GTA VI/Online for the 25th Anniversary in five years? *If* they are, 2027 seems like a nice fit, a couple of years (presumably) after release.

I wonder what the devs were testing in each one of those clips, the ones that aren't obvious, like the robbery clip, I wonder what were they looking into.

 

I remember the one where the dev was figuring out the door mechanism/interaction with Lucia.

Just so we're on the same page: "Announce the info" as in they'll just mention the "Next Entry of the Grand Theft Auto Series" and not by the full name or showing any pics or photos. They'll probably just say long the lines of "development has been steadily progressing" and maybe an update about the hacking situation, assessing the damage.

There is no way that Rockstar addresses GTA VI again without actually showing something from the game.

 

Could be in weeks or months, but the moment they decide to do it they will start showing something.

I love how you guys take things for granted. "There is no way" is a phrase that doesn't belong to Rockstar's vocabulary. It's very likely that they could just address the hacking situation, without adding anything that we didn't already know and go on with their things until they decide to announce the game whenever they're ready.

8:27 AM in New York at the moment

There's probably nothing today, something might be this or next week related to gta online that's all. Nothing is 100%
